Principal’s Message
Service, Humility, Respect… These words are the focus, and inspiration, for students and staff at
Geneseo Middle School. As almost 700 students, teachers, custodians, secretaries, and support
staff enter GMS each day, we do so with a shared understanding that through serving each other,
having humility, and respecting those that may think differently then you, leads to a deeply
Caring learning environment. Believe it or not, we are moving from the hot and steamy days of
summer into a season of beautiful colors, cool breezes, and a waning sun. I always find it
refreshing to get into the full swing of school, and September embodies that like no other month.
We are already fully into sports and activities like football, volleyball, cross country and speech.
We will soon be attending Friday night Green Machine football games, watching a Homecoming
parade, and listening to the incredible music of our young people in the Harvest Music Festival. I
look forward to a fall season of filling our classrooms, fields and gym with athletes, performers,
parents and fans that demonstrate every day, Service, Humility and Respect.

Middle School Student Spotlight
Every student at Geneseo Middle School has demonstrated
outstanding Respect, Service and Humility in these first few weeks
of 2015-16. We have had almost a dozen Preferrals, “caught
doing something good,” multiple top performers in our first football,
volleyball and cross country competitions, and an incredible
awareness of safety by all students from bus loading and
unloading to fire and tornado drills.
Students in 6th grade math are
completing an “Order of Op Hop”
activity to demonstrate understanding
of Order of Operations… and to do a
little Hopscotch on a beautiful day!
Look here in coming months for some individual & team spotlights!
