PROGRAMME
One of the all-time legends of country music, Patsy Cline was born Virginia Patterson
Hensley in the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia, on September 8, 1932. Always
spunky and devoted to music, she quit school at the age of fifteen to work in a drug store
and help support her single mother and younger brother and sister. In return, her mother
dedicated her spare time to helping Patsy's career, and drove her to Nashville when she
was only sixteen for her first Grand Ole Opry try-out.
Patsy was never shy about self-promotion and impressed everyone the moment they heard
her. Ironically, her music talent was never really rewarded until “Walkin’ After Midnight”,
which was recorded ten years after she began singing professionally. Her incredible
rendition of this song on the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts in 1957 not only won the contest,
but finally set her on the road to the acclaim she deserved. It was followed three years later
by the memorable “I Fall to Pieces”. Then came “Crazy” (written by Willie Nelson), “She's
Got You”, “Leavin' on Your Mind”, “Sweet Dreams” and “Faded Love”. Her last single
release was “A Closer Walk with Thee”. She realized her lifetime ambition of joining the
Grand Ole Opry in 1960 and won ten awards at the WSM Country Music Festival.
In the early 1960's Patsy's life began settling down – just as her career began to pick up.
Two children, a dream home, and a stack of hit records were finally hers, but she would not
be able to enjoy them long. Patsy Cline died in an airplane crash on March 5, 1963 while
hurrying back to her family after a benefit concert in Kansas City.
Patsy's popularity is witnessed by the fact that she is the number one juke box play in the
world. Her Greatest Hits album has been in first place for over 200 weeks on Billboard's
Top Country Catalogue Albums. On March 1, 1995, Patsy was memorialized with a
Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Although she will never be replaced A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline is a tribute to her
spirit and a celebration of the music of her life.

Dean Regan (Creator)
Dean created A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline in Vancouver, B.C. in 1991 and
following its successful launch he took his sold out show across Canada. The
US premiere, a nine-month run at the Playhouse Theatre in Boston (MA)
closely followed and this production led into two U.S. national tours. A Closer
Walk with Patsy Cline has been produced well over 150 times across North
America. Dean has personally directed over 20 of these productions and has
since developed numerous other stage musicals. Red Rock Diner premiered
in Canada at the Arts Club Theatre Company (Vancouver, B.C.) and in the
U.S. at Hallmark Theatre (Kansas City, MO); Forever Swing, the popular big
band musical that enjoyed a 12 week sold out premiere in Vancouver, B. C. and then played to sold
out houses over the course of two national tours; the Black and Gold Revue, Hotel Porter (Cole
Porter Revue) and Clooney Tunes all received rave reviews as well. Recently inducted into the B.C.
Entertainers Hall of Fame, Dean continues to write and direct. Acclaimed as one of Canada's top
entertainers, Dean Regan is a multitalented artist whose credits include acting, singing, composing and
producing as well as writing, directing and choreographing shows for major theatres across the
continent. Dancing became the dominant focus of his life, from his early years in high school to a
highly successful musical comedy career in Hollywood, Las Vegas, and New York.
Charlie Dick (Production Advisor)
Charlie was a linotype operator for the Winchester, Virginia Evening Star when
he met and married Patsy Cline on September 15, 1957. During a stint in the
army, he and Patsy returned to Winchester for the birth of their daughter Julie.
The family then moved to Nashville where he joined the Nashville Banner and
later The Tennessean. Their son Randy was born in January, 1961, shortly before
a car crash critically injured Patsy. While still in the hospital, Patsy's “I Fall to
Pieces” hit number one. Her injuries required the use of crutches long after
her release from the hospital. Charlie became her road manager, tending to
her and the kids. After Patsy's death, Charlie went into record promotion and
hit the big time with sales of Red Sovine's “Teddy Bear”. In 1983, he became
co-owner of Hallway Productions: Nashville, a video production company that
made country music documentaries on such stars as Patsy Cline, Ernest Tubb, Loretta Lynn, George
Jones and Willie Nelson. With Julie and Randy, he formed Legacy, Inc. to respond to Patsy's increasing
popularity. Legacy, Inc. has approved this production as one of only two stage musicals celebrating
the life and music of Pasty Cline. Charlie helped form Patsy's fan club that is operated by his brother
Mel at P.O. Box 2236, Winchester,VA 22604.
Rick Kish (Director)
Rick is really excited to be directing this first production for A Missing Link
Theatre Company.Working with Barbara, Dwayne and the rest of the gang will
be a blast. Some favourite directing credits include: "Hedwig & The Angry Inch"
for the 2012 London Fringe Festival, "Wang Dang Doodle" for the Grand
Theatre in London, "Steel Magnolias" for the University of Windsor’s, School of
Dramatic Art, "Sweeney Todd" for the University of Western Ontario, "Mary’s
Wedding", "The Wild Guys", "Suds: The Rocking ‘60’s Musical Soap Opera",
"Forever Plaid" & the World Premiere Production of Norm Foster's "Storm
Warning" for The Bluewater Summer Playhouse, "Maggie's Getting Married",
"Pith", "You'll Get Used To It! The War Show" & "Bordertown Café" for the Port
Stanley Festival Theatre.
Rick served as Artistic Director at The Port Stanley Festival Theatre in Port Stanley, ON, 1999 – 2001
and at The Bluewater Summer Playhouse in Kincardine, ON, 2001-2006. London audiences may
remember Rick recent onstage antics as Frank-n-Furter in "The Rocky Horror Show", 2011 London
Fringe Festival and as Booby Cheval in "Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens" 2010 London Fringe
Festival.
Rick has been working as a private voice & acting instructor for the past 15 years from his in-home
studio in the city he chooses to call home … London, ON.
BIOS
Barbara-Lynn Redpath
Barbara began theatre at age 7 and has never looked back. She has enjoyed
roles in professional and amateur theatre in Hamilton, Burlington and Toronto.
Some of her favourite roles include: "Diana" in "A Chorus Line", "Mrs. Lovett"
in "Sweeney Todd", "Eliza Doolittle" in "My Fair Lady", "Reno Sweeney" in "Anything Goes" and "Sally Bowles" in "Cabaret". Her first professional theatre
experience was the starring role in "Annie" at age 11 at the Limelight Dinner
Theatre in Toronto. Patsy Cline is very near and dear to her heart and she is
ecstatic to be reprising her role in "A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline" after
having the honour of portraying Patsy at the Bluewater Summer Playhouse in
Kincardine back in 2005.
Dwayne Adams
All Dwayne ever wanted to do was make people smile. He’s been lucky enough
to carve out a career doing just that. (And sometimes people even pay him for
it!) He performed the legendary role of Mickey Rooney in the Emmy/Golden
Globe award winning miniseries “Life With Judy Garland: Me And My Shadows”.
He’s the original lovable C.C. Copycat in the series “Skinnamarink T.V. and on
the Juno award winning album of the same name” featuring Sharon Lois and
Bram. He’s performed Shakespeare, Stand Up Comedy, Voiceovers, Music
Theatre, Children’s Theatre, Commercials, Comedic and Dramatic Roles.
John Fellner
John’s passion for performing was nurtured by his teachers at L.B. Pearson
School for the Arts where he attended elementary school and learned to
sing, dance, act and play several musical instruments. John has appeared in
productions with Original Kids Theatre Company and with The Grand Theatre’s
High school production, Footloose. John plays guitar and sings in the rock band
U-Turn which plays in various venues in and around London. In his spare time
John can be found playing piano or guitar, writing and singing original songs. John
recently joined the talented vocalists and musicians who regularly perform at
Forest City Community Church. John thanks the many wonderful people who
mentor, support and inspire him. Thanks to Rick for this exciting opportunity!
Josh Van Belois
Joshua is very excited to representing one of the Jordanaires in this production
of “A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline”. He looks forward to the opportunity to
acquire new skills in the AMLTC Mentorship Program while working alongside
Barbara-Lynn and Dwayne. Joshua has performed four High School Projects
with the Grand Theatre including: “Grease” (dance/chorus), “Anything Goes”
(the Purser), “Footloose” (Travis) and “My Fair Lady” (Freddie). He also recently
played the part of Corny Collins in Beal’s production of “Hairspray”. HUGE
thanks to his supportive family and friends for their continuing encouragement.
Marcel Sokalski
Marcel was born May 17, 1995. From a young age he had always loved music,
and entertaining others. He began singing, and playing the piano at age 10 and
continues taking lessons to this day. Being born of a polish decent, he still actively
participates in the polish community, attending Polish School, Youth Group at
Our Lady of Czestochowa, and Cracovia (a Polish Folk and Dance Ensemble).
Marcel has taken part in a number of vocal competitions throughout the years,
even placing first at the London Kiwanis Music Festival Trophy Class for his category. He recently transferred schools to Catholic Central High School to take
part in their vocal program, for he plans on continuing his studies in Performing
Arts (Vocal) at University next year.

Emrik Burrows
Emrik’s acting career began in earnest in 2011 with the Grand Theatre’s High
School production (HSP) of “Footloose”. Emrik was usually found playing bass
in the orchestra for his school and other London area theatre productions. But,
after such an exciting and successful experience with Footloose, he decided to
go after all of the opportunities he could to perform on stage. He appeared in
the 2012 HSP production of “My Fair Lady” and now, AMLTC’s “A Closer Walk
With Patsy Cline”, Emrik hopes that the work he does with Rick and his
fellow actors will increase his theatrical knowledge and lead to many more
experiences on stage.
Caitlin McKeon
Caitlin has enjoyed performing from a young age. She has trained as a competitive dancer for 7 years. She’s performed in four High School Project at the
Grand Theatre, “Grease”, “Anything Goes”, “Footloose” and “My Fair Lady”).
She’s in the musical theatre program at H.B. Beal SS where she’s performed as
Tammy in “Hairspray” & Daisy in the premiere of the dance show “Freak”. She‘s
looking forward to her upcoming role in “Seussical for “London Musical Theatre
Productions. She is excited to be performing in “A Closer Walk With Patsy
Cline”. Listening to the depth, nuances and style of Patsy's voice has lead her
to grow as a singer. She thanks teachers, friends and family for their support. A
special thanks to Rick for his mentorship and encouragement.
Claire David
Claire David is a grade twelve student of Catholic Central High School. Her
previous involvements in theatre include My Fair Lady at the Grand Theatre,
and Mulan at the Palace Theatre. Claire is excited to be a part of the production
of A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline, and to work with all these wonderful people!

Zach Havens
Zach has achieved provincial status in classical piano performance and received
top marks for his performer’s ARCT with the Royal Conservatory at the age
of 16. Having musically directed/starred in countless productions, Zach has
been actively involved in musicals such as the Wizard of Oz, West Side Story,
Godspell, Grease, Oliver Twist, Tom Sawyer, and several independently written
productions. As well as teaching privately, he also devotes a great deal of time
to the band To Tell, which has achieved international recognition through radio
play, nationally broadcast television appearances and countless shows throughout Canada and the United States with artists such as Mariana’s Trench and
Thousand Foot Krutch.


