“People are looking for and expecting that extra touch of care and compassion,” Dr. Slate says. “They will find it here.”
And they do. Dr. Slate’s patients are incredibly loyal and happy with the care

Adam Meierhofer. “The staff are overwhelmingly patient and attentive and we so
appreciate Dr. Slate’s consistency in taking plenty of individual time with us and

“I can imagine that the job of making a dental visit a pleasant experience

Magazine’s Best Doctors, and Texas Monthly Super Doctors.
We are pleased to announce the arrival of the latest technology in
skin rejuvenation – Pixel fractional skin resurfacing and Harmony Skin
Tightening. Traditional skin resurfacing provides excellent skin rejuvenation but requires significant downtime. Pixel fractional resurfacing
provides good firming of the skin and improves skin texture and tone, sun
damage, wrinkles and acne scars with minimal downtime. Although 3-5
treatments are needed for optimal results, improvement is seen after the
first treatment. Also available is Harmony Skin Tightening, a safe and painless laser technology which tightens sagging skin on the face, neck, arms,
and hands with no downtime.

Kelly
Nolan
Keller Williams Dallas City Center
Meet the Women of Keller Williams
As a realtor at Ebby
Halliday Realtors,
Nolan is able to focus
on the things she
finds important in
life -- her family, her
community and her
clients.
“What better example can you have for a successful woman in business
than Ebby Halliday herself?” Kelly says. “She has been an inspiration to me
as a leader and a mentor. I have been able to build a full life and a career in
real estate by modeling her standards for excellence as I serve my clients
and the community.”
Kelly has been around real estate most of her life. Her father owned a
real estate company in Arlington and that is where she began to learn about
running a business and focusing on customer service. She began selling
real estate 11 years ago and joined Ebby Halliday nine years ago.
This extensive experience has given Kelly a special outlook on helping
her clients. She tries to make the process of buying or selling a home enjoyable. Kelly prides herself on listening to her clients, solving problems if they
arise and using her broad network of vendors to help close a transaction
smoothly.
“I love when a client says, ‘I’m so relieved, I thought this would be so
stressful and it has gone so smoothly, thank you!’” Kelly says.
This focus on her customers pays off. About 90 percent of her business
comes from referrals and past clients, which she greatly appreciates.
“That’s very fulfilling for me because there’s already a sense of trust
and friendliness,” Kelly says.
But it is not just real estate that interests Kelly. She loves her family,
which is big. She has 16 nieces and nephews and says, “If any of them gets
the real estate bug, I would love to be a mentor and bring them into my
business.”
She cares just as much for the neighborhoods around White Rock Lake,
where she lives and works.
“I moved to the White Rock area about 13 years ago and it’s been my
home ever since,” Kelly says. “I love the renewed interest this area is
receiving and the homeowners’ passion for preserving what makes it so
charming.”

The Women of the Dick Clements Group

Champions of Service
Republic Title was ranked the #1 Title Company in the Metroplex for the
3rd year in a row by the Dallas Business Journal! This is no surprise to those
that close their real estate transactions with any one of the seven professional closers at the Lakewood Branch. With the closers and assistants
having a combined 171 years in the title business, we have the knowledge
and experience it takes to make sure all closings are handled as professionally and efficiently as possible. There are not many things more stressful
than buying or selling a home and we recognize that people under stress
don’t need additional problems. That’s just one of the reasons we do everything in our power to make sure everyone closing in the Lakewood Branch
has the best experience possible. “Service” is what we strive to deliver and,
in that endeavor, have also recently added a bilingual closer and marketing
rep to our office.
All of our customers are afforded the security of having access to an
attorney they can call on to answer any legal questions that might arise in
a real estate transaction. This along with a curative department to assist
in resolving title issues makes even a complicated transaction move to
the closing table as quickly as possible. We also now own and operate title
plants in 9 surrounding counties and can generate title work quickly for
closings in the North Texas area. As the largest title agency in Texas, we
now have 22 offices through out the Metroplex to assure convenience to
all customers.
We invite anyone to stop in to the Lakewood Branch for a fresh baked
cookie and cup of coffee to get acquainted with our knowledgeable team.

Janice Parson
Ellen terry, realtors
For Janice, a Realtor with Ellen Terry, Realtors, real estate comes
naturally. She bought her first investment property when she was
19-years old and has not looked back since.
Before beginning her career in real estate, in her spare time, she
drove around looking at houses. She often stopped, backed up, and
looked twice at a property, possibly sketching a new facade or writing
down the address to research later. She still does this today.
Over the years, she has attained extensive knowledge and experience
remodeling and buying and selling her own properties. Because of this,
she shares her comprehensive vision with her clients. When selling a
home, she offers guidance on repairs and upgrades – With realistic cost estimates -- that will enhance the value. She also
has a long list of reliable contractors that her clients can
use. And when a client lists a home with her, she provides
complimentary home staging and closet organizing.
Janice offers more than just her skills to help to her
clients. Her excellent support staff is organized and
ready to provide prompt service. This ensures that if Janice
cannot be reached, her clients’ needs are still addressed
quickly. Janice also understands the demands of a full, busy
life. Through her own real estate transactions, she has developed simplified procedures, making real estate transactions
more efficient and saving her clients valuable time.
“I stay on top of the market and am constantly honing my
negotiating skills so that I can be confident that when someone
selects me to be their Realtor, they have made an excellent choice,”
Janice says.
Her experience goes beyond real estate. She has owned several
companies, including a catering business and high tech job placement firm, and she has lived around the world. This gives her a
well-rounded approach to life – and business.
Her experience, service and knowledge don’t go unnoticed. One
hundred percent of her business is referral based.
“A home is often the largest single investment a person will
make in their lifetime,” Janice says. “I am honored to be invited
into my clients’ lives to help them to make such an important
decision.”
Janice specializes in Lakewood, Lake Highlands and the White
Rock Lake area.
Dr. Perkins has made personalized service and care her priority at
Women Caring for Women OB/GYN. She is a board certified Obstetrician and
Gynecologist who is in private practice and affiliated with Presbyterian
Hospital of Dallas.
“Patients never have to worry about seeing multiple providers at their
appointment,” Dr. Perkins says.
Dr. Perkins emphasizes partnering with her patients to decide what
is best for their healthcare. She approaches her patients with respect and
enjoys interacting with them while providing medical care and education in
a relaxed and comfortable setting. As a woman, Dr. Perkins feels that she
can relate to many of the experiences her patients go through as women.
“It is rewarding to be in a dual position of being a role model and service provider to women,” Dr. Perkins says.
Dr. Perkins realized at age 12 that she wanted to be an Obstetrician
and Gynecologist when she learned about female reproduction and childbirth in science class.
“The whole process just fascinated me,” Dr. Perkins says. “The rest, as
they say, is history!”
She attended medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine in
Atlanta. Her medical experience is unique because she served in the U.S.
Navy for three years as a General Medical Officer before settling in Dallas.

Janie Christy
lakewood orthodontics
owner/director
Exciting, energetic, and decidedly unique describes Dr. Simon’s team at
Lakewood Orthodontics. This upscale, trendy practice is the “grown-up” version of the orthodontic practice you may have known as a child.
Having practiced in the Dallas area since 1992, Dr. Simon is one of the few
orthodontists in the country who has had advanced, formal training in treatment involving the combination of orthodontics and oral surgery. She plans
treatments taking the patient’s individual facial structure into consideration,
creating smiles which are in harmony and balance with the face, whether in a
growing child or in an adult. Dr. Simon is board certified and also maintains a
volunteer position at UT Southwestern.
Interested in seeing what we can do to improve your smile? Call and
schedule an exam! It’s on us!
It’s little wonder Janie Christy owns a dance studio. She’s danced
herself since she was 3. It’s a lifelong passion she passes on to her
students.
“I want the children to especially enjoy the music and have fun
expressing themselves,” she says.
Since 1993, boys and girls of all ages have learned ballet, tap, jazz
and drill team preparation at the Janie Christy School of Dance. Janie calls
her students her “dancing children.”
“This career is more of a lifestyle for me; it’s an extension of my role
as a mother — enjoying the constant learning and developing as my students have grown up.”
And, she adds, she’ll be teaching dance for years to come.
“Now that I’m a grandmother, I must keep dancing and teaching until
my granddaughters can perform on stage with me.”

realtor, ebby halliday realtors
Ebby Halliday Realtors
For the past 7 years in a row, Jan Stell has been Ebby Halliday’s #1
agent in Lake Highlands. Of course, this is no surprise to those who know
Jan and know of her tremendous love for the Lake Highlands’ community.
A 30 year LH resident, Jan has been involved in numerous school and civic
organizations. Jan was also instrumental in the building and implementation of the Lake Highlands’ YMCA. At the age of 27, Jan inherited several
properties from her father. “It was at this point in my life that I decided
that a real estate license would be helpful,” says Jan. Needless to say,
real estate turned into a “passion” for Jan and she joined Ebby Halliday
in 1985. Over her outstanding career, Jan has developed a reputation for
her extensive knowledge and love of the LH community. This knowledge
and love, combined with Jan’s easy accessiblity and her “fun” and “downto-earth” approach to buying and selling homes has made Jan Stell an
outstanding Realtor.
Mary Rinne chose to follow two exemplary women in business, Ebby
Halliday, and Sherryl Wesson, a manager at Ebby Halliday Realtors. She
is enjoying her seventh year with Ebby Halliday, achieving the Star Plus
Plateau, the company’s highest level of production. Her office chose
her as “Mentor of the Year,” affirming her reputation as a knowledgeable
realtor.
Mary finds it rewarding to work with senior citizens. They have needs
that require patience and special knowledge. She has earned her designation as a Senior Real Estate Specialist. She is well equipped to handle
these complex transactions that not only involve the sale of a home but
the coordination of other professionals and family members.
A Lakewood native and a Lake Highlands graduate, Mary’s in the perfect business in the perfect place!

Rona believes there is great opportunity for merchants in payment
acceptance services resulting from advancement in technology and
regulation. Yet there remains a great need for understanding the risk,
cost and use of the services.
Rona worked 16 years for a federal bank regulator. She brings the
same mission of integrity and dedication to her passion of helping business owners explore payment choices of checks, credit cards or recurring
payments.
“I enjoy helping people understand their choices with our free review

and an idea sparks.”
Maribeth Messineo Peters, Vice President of Ellen Terry, Realtors

“Exceptional Agent for Exceptional Homes.” Maribeth received
D Magazine’s “Best Realtors in Dallas” for 2005, 2006 and 2007, an
honor bestowed on less than one percent of area realtors.
With her 12 years of home restoration experience, Maribeth provides expertise few agents can match. She is a trusted advisor to her

Susan Brehm, a technology consultant for most of her career, was
remodeling her house when she experienced one of those moments of
clarity. “It dawned on me that the IT consultant in me died somewhere
out there, probably in an airport lounge, and in its place came a MarthaStewart-meets-Bob-Vila kind of person,” she recalls. Now, instead of solving corporations’ problems by designing and implementing technology
systems, Brehm solves people’s problems by designing and installing
furniture. More Space Place helps people live better in their homes using
multipurpose furniture, specifically Murphy beds or wall beds. They are
the perfect solution for combining an underutilized guestroom with an
“anything else” room. Using a traditional or pillow-top mattress also
makes the beds perfectly comfortable. “It’s always about the client’s
happiness,” she insists, “not the sale.”

For 15 years, the doctors at Baylor Pediatric Center have provided
quality care to their patients, whether it’s a well visit, illness, sports

To accommodate their growing practice and provide the
best care possible, they recently moved Baylor Pediatrics
to NorthPark. These doctors love to watch their patients

Their patients range in age from newborn to 22 years

Dr. Deborah Price
Founder & Owner, Hearing Professional Center
In 1983, Dr. Price opened Hearing Professional Center in 400 square
feet with a card table, two chairs and concrete floors. Her business has
grown exponentially. She offers hearing tests and hearing aids, balance
therapy and educational seminars on the hearing and balance system.
One of the nation’s leading audiologists, a board member of civic and
professional organizations and the mother of two grown sons, Dr. Price
has gained a strong foothold in what was previously a male-dominated
profession. She has also traveled to Mexico, Brazil and China in efforts to
help the hearing impaired in those countries. The most fulfilling aspect
of her career, she says, is “changing people’s lives by enhancing their gift
of hearing. There are tears of joy when hearing is restored through the

WOMEN
Johnette, owner-president of Roundtree Landscaping, loves working with
plants and people. She received a degree in Landscape architecture from Louisiana
State University in 1981 and started Roundtree Landscaping. Inc. in 1984. Her goal
was and is to provide high-quality landscape services for the average homeowner.
She quickly learned that many homeowners don’t know a lot about
landscaping or the landscape architects they hire, so educating and building
relationships with her clients became a driving force behind her business. She
decided to provide high-quality landscape services.
Being a woman in a male dominated industry has its challenges, but
Johnette believes that she and her two managers, Berit Hutson and Suzanne
