The Norwegian Bunad [Modo de Compatibilidade]
A bunad is a traditional
Norwegian costume.
In Norway there are more than a hundred types of
bunad.
Every district of the country has its own bunad.
There are bunads both for men and women, although
women’s bunads are more diverse and popular.
Bunads are local to Norway’s traditional districts.
People can choose which bunad they want, but it’s
usual to have a bunad from where your family comes
from.
In Norway, it is common to wear a bunad as a costume in
various celebrations, especially the May 17 National Day
celebrations.
