LAST YEAR WAS A BUSY AND
CREATIVE ONE...
Balakumbala voice & bass' 2015
highlights were playing at two great
new festivals: Jazzville at Ostsee and
Landesjazz in Karlsruhe and also
playing at the renowned brazilian
music workshop "Oficinas de
música" in Curitiba with the amazing
Marco Lobo on percussion.
New CD “Live at the Bird’s Eye”
BALA IN THE MOVIES
Balakumbala was interviewed two weeks ago by brazilian
movie director Sérgio Roizenblit for a documentary about
brazilian musicians in Germany. We had a lot of fun filming
at our studio and showing them around in Karlsruhe!
Bala was also featured at the Bird's
eye jazzclub compilation CD "
Reflections " and later released a
promotional recording from a
concert at this very club in Basel with
the great Zé Luíz Nascimento on
percussion "LIVE at the Bird's eye"!

was Vivi's absolute highlight !
Singing the colossal oratorio "Canto
General" with KIT Konzertchor at the
main stage for ten thousand people
will remain an unforgettable
experience!

Mauro as a side-man not only on
bass but on drums as well, toured
with trombonist Raul de Souza
through India and Europe and has
been collaborating regularly with
musicians from Amy Winehouse's
former band in London.
