UR MISSION:
To glorify God by providing
quality, Christ-centered education
dedicated to developing discerning leaders
who are spiritually, personally, and academically
prepared to impact their world.
M A K I N G A N I M PA C T
Being the difference in students, in the community, and in
the world...
Cascade Christian Schools is first and foremost a place of teaching
and training people in their purpose before God. With that goal in
mind, everything that happens on each CCS campus is curricular.
What that means to parents and students is that each class, activity,
and event has the purpose of growing students in the components of
our Educational Curricular Model. These four critical areas are:
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT,
SPIRITUAL FORMATION,
PERSONAL/SOCIAL MATURITY, and
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE.
Beginning with the very youngest, students are taught, by example and intentional lesson planning, how
to lead with a servant heart and how to practice the 3 Rs of respect, responsibility and relationship.
I want to personally invite you to find out more. On the following pages, you will see an overview
of our school system - more about who we are and what we do. Then, call one of our campuses to
schedule a tour. We look forward to meeting you!

Superintendent of Schools

A BOUT U S
A common vision...
The vision for Cascade Christian Schools began in the early 1990s, when three church-related schools
in Pierce County realized they had a common mission and a shared desire to meet the needs of
children and their families with quality Christian education. The three founding churches (Puyallup First
Assembly - now Destiny Christian Center, Spanaway Assembly of God - now Sound Life Church of the
Assemblies of God, and People’s Church - now Champions’ Centre) unified their efforts, and launched
Cascade Christian Schools in 1992.
Many campuses, one mission.. .
Cascade Christian Schools is now leading the way as an independent, interdenominational school system
in Pierce County serving students from infant through grade 12.
Our focus is on providing an excellent academic experience, with leadership development, spiritual
formation, and personal/social maturity at the core of our educational curricular model. This is done
through traditional classroom lessons and activities, all presented from a biblical worldview. Other
curricular activities at CCS include music, arts, athletics, leadership training, and service activities.
Our core purpose is to transform cultures through
teaching and training people in their purpose before God.
Guided by a Biblical Worldview...
Whether in preschool or high school, a biblical worldview is not a subject that is merely added on to
the curricular process. Cascade Christian Schools’ qualified and dedicated teachers equip students to
view life and live life from God’s perspective.
Living a life of purpose...
It is our goal that graduates of CCS are students who have an active,
personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and are part of a healthy church
community. They are able to apply their academic successes to their life,
demonstrate servant leadership, and be confident, godly influences in
their relationships.
CCS Core Character Trait: Integrity
Uncompromising commitment to truth, honor, faithfulness, loyalty, and trust.

Preparing students for college and for life...
Students at Cascade Christian High School are surrounded by qualified Christian faculty, staff, and
administrators who are committed to the students, and to keeping the integration of faith, learning, and
leadership development a priority.
Academics at the high school level offer a college preparatory emphasis. In addition to the core
curriculum, which exceeds Washington state graduation requirements, Cascade Christian provides
Advanced Placement courses that prepare and equip students for the college or university of their
choice.
The student experience at Cascade Christian Schools includes the events and activities that students
expect from high school, such as creative arts (drama, visual arts, and music), clubs, retreats, formal
events, band and choir competitions, and spirit week. Each winter, students also participate in a weeklong IMPACT Term where they participate in additional learning opportunities which may include local
community service, learning a new skill, studying a subject in a new way, or a mission trip.
Cascade Christian Schools participates in athletics in conjunction with the Washington Interscholastic
Activities Association (WIAA), and has a full range of varsity sports including football, volleyball,
soccer, cross country, tennis, cheerleading, basketball, wrestling, golf, track and field, baseball, and fast
pitch. Coaches at CCS are trained with the same emphasis on the core components of the educational
curricular model as the faculty, empowering them to continue the student’s training in leadership
development, spiritual formation, personal/social maturity, and academic (or athletic) excellence.
CCS Core Character Trait: Wisdom
To view life and live life from God’s perspective.

J U N I O R H I G H (7-8)
The curriculum at Cascade Christian Junior High is designed to provide a solid preparation for high
school by continuing to build a strong academic foundation that will lead to high school success.
Qualified, caring, faculty members are focused on assisting the junior high students to become more
aware of who they are as God created them, and how to be positive influences on those around
them. A continued focus on the 3 Rs of respect, responsibility and relationship assist staff, faculty, and
administration in this effort, with a special effort to reward students for doing what is right.
The Junior High curriculum places emphasis on the core subject areas of mathematics, science, language
arts, history, and Bible, with opportunities to participate in band or choir, and to explore additional
subjects that involve their personal gifts. Leadership development training is also core to the junior high
experience at CCS.
Students at CCJH also have a wide variety of athletic opportunities available to them, including football,
soccer, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, baseball, fast pitch, and cheerleading.
CCS Core Character Trait: Dignity A commitment to treat each
individual as uniquely created in the image of God and worthy of respect.

Strong Academics with a Biblical Worldview, in a Safe, Caring Environment.. .
An elementary education at Cascade Christian provides strong academics in the basics of reading,
language arts, and mathematics, as well as a solid foundation in social studies and science, all taught
from the perspective of a biblical worldview.
Art, music, physical education, computer, and athletics are also part of the curricular process, during
and after regular school hours. Various classroom activities, weekly chapels, and other school events
provide students with opportunities for creativity, service, and leadership development.
Each of our campuses strives to maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio, so the quality, caring faculty
and staff are able to serve our children and families well. Parents and families are encouraged to be
involved in classroom and campus-wide activities and events through Parents for Cascade, the parent
volunteer organization of CCS.
E X T E N D E D D AY P RO G R A M
Cascade Christian Schools understands that parents often need a place for their elementary-age
children to be before and/or after school. At CCS, it is important that this time become another
opportunity for learning, not simply a day care service. Students are encouraged to continue practicing
the 3 Rs of respect, responsibility, and relationship during before- and after-school time. Each campus
may also offer a varied selection of enrichment activities, clubs, or lessons for students to participate in
during the extended day portion of their time at CCS.
CCS Core Character Trait: Excellence
A sustained, dedicated pursuit of God-given potential.

Learning Begins in Infancy...
Cascade Christian Schools’ Early Learning Centers (ELCs) offer preschool and child care programs for
infants through age five.
Loving, professional staff work to provide a wide variety of age-appropriate activities and experiences
that encourage students to grow in critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution, and empathy
for others. Spiritual formation occurs in part through Bible lessons, songs and corporate chapel times,
with a biblical worldview being integrated throughout all curricular areas. Touch, sight, taste and smell
are an important part of the learning process, and there are plenty of opportunities for hand/eye
coordination as well as exercising muscles on the playground or covered indoor play areas.
It is important at CCS that young children begin their away-from-home educational experiences in a
safe, nurturing environment where they learn that they are valued and loved by God, family, and school
staff.

L EADERSHIP D EVELOPMENT
Dedicated to Developing Discerning Leaders - Not Just a Slogan
Leadership development is not only a core value at Cascade Christian Schools, it is a commitment to
students, to equip them to fulfill their calling in life. At Cascade Christian Schools, all students are
leaders, because leadership is influence.
The commitment to leadership development is manifested in having a designated program director
for the whole school system, through leadership as core classes from fifth through twelfth grade, and
through Leadership Impact, where students apply the leadership model to real life situations.
B IBLICAL W ORLDVIEW I NSTITUTE
At Cascade Christian Schools, it has always been the passion of the leadership team to make sure
that students have a biblical worldview. This begins with teachers who are consistently and effectively
trained in connecting biblical truths to every subject at every grade level.
A very distinct biblical worldview lesson planning methodology was designed at Cascade Christian
Schools to accomplish that important task. All CCS teachers are trained by participating in the Making
the Connections: Biblical Worldview Integration in the Classroom workshop.
In 2002, the Board of Directors of Cascade Christian Schools voted to create the Biblical Worldview
Institute as a division of Cascade Christian Schools in order to fulfill the calling to offer the valuable
Making the Connections training to other Christian schools, nationally and internationally.
BWI is currently carrying out the vision of providing training tools for school administrators, pastors,
business leaders, parents and others, in order to integrate God’s truth into their lives in a relevant and
practical way. Thousands of administrators and teachers have taken part in the two-day live workshop,
which has now been made available in DVD format.
Don Johnson, Executive Director of the Biblical Worldview Institute, discovered a shared passion for
biblical worldview integration in Christian Overman, Executive Director of Worldview Matters. Christian
and his wife, Kathy, are co-instructors for the workshop Think Again!: How to Maintain Confidence in
Absolute Truth During a Post-Christian Age of Relativism, which the Biblical Worldview Institute offers in
conjunction with Making the Connections.

A DMISSIONS
Cascade Christian Schools is open to anyone interested in securing
Christian child care or education for their child, from infant through
the grade 12, whom the school finds qualified for admission.
The admissions procedure for K-12 includes a testing and interview
process. Students are evaluated on the basis of transcript/report cards,
references, admission questionnaire, interview responses, and the
anticipated ability of Cascade Christian to meet the student’s individual needs. New student applications
are received as early as mid-January for the following school year.
At the early learning level, our rolling admissions procedure is on a first come, first served basis. Child
care is year-round, while our traditional preschool follows the standard academic schedule. The admission
procedure includes a site visit and parent orientation.
To determine if Cascade Christian Schools is right for your family, schedule a visit by calling
the campus of your choice.
