Activity Guide
Spring/Summer 2015
Welcome!
Another long winter is just about over! We can’t wait to open
the pool, kick off Spring/Summer programming and prepare
the parks for outdoor activities.
Inside the 2015 Spring / Summer Activity Guide you will find
returning programs like Day Camp and Swim Lessons are
back, as well as some newer programs like Silver Shooter
Bocce and Pickleball for Older Adults. We’re also offering an
excellent line-up of excursions this year.
You will notice some new programs such as our Pre-Day
Camp for Mayfield Height residents who register for session
A. The pre-camp will be 6/10 - 6/12. There is limited
availability for this new program. See page 5 for more
information.
Be sure to mark your calendars to join us at City Park
6/26-6/28 for our annual Unity Days Festival and parade.
Held right in the heart of our community, this event offers
something for everyone in your family and circle of friends.
As always we will have our spectacular fireworks show on
Saturday night and the annual parade on Sunday. New this
year, we are adding the Mayfield Run for Life 5K, which
will take place just before the parade steps off. Please see
page16 for details.
Work Out (and more) at Wildcat Sport & Fitness located on
the south east corner of Mayfield High School, continues
to attract residents in search of activities and exercise
offerings. While we continue to plan, coordinate and
schedule new classes and programs, we are also working
tirelessly to improve this incredible community asset for the
residents of our school district. If you haven’t visited yet,
please stop by to take a tour.
We hope you find something in our Activity Guide that
moves you to sign up for a class, visit Wildcat Sport &
Fitness or just get involved with all your community has to
offer. We look forward to seeing you at the pool, park or
Wildcat Sport & Fitness.
As always, please call the Recreation Department at
440-442-2627, if you have any questions, comments or
concerns. We welcome your feedback.
I hope to see you in the park, along with much better
weather, very soon!

Policies
Confirmation
The Parks & Recreation Department does not
automatically issue program confirmations or receipts.
Please attend your program choice as scheduled unless
otherwise notified. We contact you only if a program is
cancelled or filled prior to our receipt of your registration.
If you need a receipt, please request one at the time of
registration.
Waiver
A valid Waiver must be on file for each participant. If
a participant is under the age of 18 a waiver must be
completed before registration can be accepted. The
parent/legal guardian must complete, sign and submit
a Waiver for each person under the age of 18 who is
interested in participating in our activities. Waivers are
valid for one year from the date submitted.
In Case of Oops!
Complete details of program policies, procedures and
guidelines are sometimes omitted from the program
brochures because of space limitations. Errors in
days, times, registration requirements and fees may
occur as well. We apologize for any errors that may
occur in the brochure. Thank you for your patience and
understanding when these situations occur.
You Snooze…and We All Lose
While many participants are inclined to wait until the
last minute to sign-up for a program, please note that
nothing stops a program in its tracks faster than a lack
of enrollment. If the program does not reach minimum
enrollment numbers, then we must cancel the program.
All programs operate on a self-supporting basis. To ensure the classes and events you enjoy continue, please
remember to sign-up as early as possible.

Programs Cancellations
IF WE CANCEL– The Parks & Recreation Department
reserves the right to cancel programs due to insufficient
enrollments or other unforeseen circumstances.
Participants are notified and full refunds are given. All
refunds will be issued by check from the City’s Finance
Department, and may take up to 30 days from the date
the program is cancelled or you may leave the funds as
a credit in your account to be used at a later date.
IF YOU CANCEL - All refunds and credits will be issued
based on the guidelines for the program involved and the
following:
Refunds – Our programs have detailed requirements
in order to withdraw from participation based on the
program involved. To cancel a registration, you must
provide a written statement (e-mail or mail) to the Parks
& Recreation Department five full business days prior
to the program start date. Credits to a future program or
refunds will be determined based on the circumstances
and the policies for the program involved. Refunds when
granted are given by check (less a $15 processing fee per
program) or a credit to your account (no processing fee).
Credits – If you contact our office by e-mail or mail, less
than five full business days in advance of the originally
scheduled start date, but before the day the program
begins, a credit to your account may be issued based on
the requirements to the program involved. For weekend
programs, notice must be given by 3:00 pm on the Friday
prior to the start of program.
Instructors are not authorized to issue refunds or credit.
