I Family holidays
International Congress of
Welcome
Welcome to the 1st International Congress on Family Holidays, an event we hope will
become the benchmark meeting point for the family holidays industry.
There is no doubt that family holidays is a strategic product for the future of our sector and
one that can generate multiple opportunities for businesses, institutions and organisations,
as well as open up new business paths.
With the aid of national and international tourist professionals we will analyse elements
including best practices and success stories from around the world, the needs and
expectations of families when they travel and family holidays in the digital era.
And what better place to hold this Congress than in Catalonia? We have long been an
ideal destination for holidays with children. Indeed, Catalonia has pioneered the creation
of a seal of specialisation that distinguishes the areas best geared up to receive families.
Today we offer 19 Family Holidays Destinations and over 600 companies and entities from
across Catalonia are programme members.
The reflections and action proposals that emerge from this Congress will make a highly
valuable contribution to the work we must all do together in this field.

PortAventura Convention Centre
The PortAventura Business & Events Convention Centre has 18 multifunctional and modular
rooms fitted with state-of-the-art technology, in order to hold events like congresses
and conferences. The rooms are distributed over two spacious floors (13,000m2), with
capacity for groups of 10 to 4000 people. At ground floor level, the Alexandria room, at
2800m2, can be converted into a large size auditorium, (1200 people). On the first floor
there is the Harvard room, a fully-equipped auditorium for 150 people, and the Tarraco
room, a Premium space that is ideal for board and committee meetings. All the terraces
are perfect for coffee, gala dinners and any open air function, in a warm Mediterranean
climate setting.
PortAventura Business & Events (one hour from Barcelona) is well-connected to the main
international airports via the AVE (Renfe) train network, and also to the rest of the resort
and its hotels. Of particular note is the direct and exclusive access that links PortAventura
Convention Centre and Hotel PortAventura, turning conferences, conventions, business,
corporate meetings and teambuilding activities into exclusive and unique events.
PortAventura Convention Centre offers a privileged location in the midst of golf courses,
stunning sea views and Mediterranean architecture. The building is integrated into the
Mediterranean landscape in terms of colours, materials and topographical adaptation,
making the most of the natural light and streamlining energy consumption.
