Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design
RMCAD is the main title of our institution. It should be used
verbally to communicate who we are in place of our official
name. However, in writing, our official name should follow the
first instance of RMCAD. After that, RMCAD should be used
at all times.

our logotype
Our logo is our anagram. It can also be referred to as a
logotype, but the use of this book we will refer to it as our
Logotype
logo. This logo had font influences, but it was specifically
drawn to be its own unique set of characters.
Our logo was designed so that it can work ontop of,
surrounded by, and alongside many different types of imagery
and designs. However, when the logo is used alongside other
logos (i.e., as in a sponsorship situation)
The logo should not be altered, rearranged or re-created in any
way; this includes being stretched or scaled out of proportion.
Incorrect
Our logo is registered and must have the regsitration
symbol in place at all times.
See page 07 for our preferred palette of colors.
fyi: Vector & rastor images:
Vector based files can be stretched to be larger. Raster files such
as a jpeg, tiff, raw, gif or png has stationary pixels and will not

using the logo
Our logo is designed to be used for many different
applications and in many different ways. For instance, most
colleges and universities and corporations demand space

around their marks. For us that rule doesn’t make much sense.

Our community is made of up creatives and thus the mark
should used in many creative fashions. But please be
responsible. Our logo should be legible and should stand
out if and when it is used against and around other
images and objects.
However, when our logo is used in stationary, it should
abide by these formal standards.
