The Elite Football Defensive Skills Camp is a non-contact, football skills
teaching camp that is designed to give each athlete a solid foundation in the
football fundamentals needed to excel at his position. Led by Irving
MacArthur defensive coordinator Greg Pels and L.D. Bell head football coach
Mark Smith, with a talented and professional coaching staff, you will be
working with some of the top defensive coaches from the State of Texas.

Greg Pels defensive bio:
Coach Pels has been coaching for 12
years and is in his 6th year at Irving
MacArthur as
the Defensive
C o o r d i n a t o r.
Coach Pels
has been apart
of 1 District
Championship,
4 State playoff
Appearances
and Coaching
Staff of the
Year in 2012.
He has helped
50 kids achieve
their dream of
playing college
football since 2005. Coach Pels’ Defensive
units have been consistently ranked in the
Top 25 in the DFW area including the #13
Total Defense and the #3 Pass Defense in
2012.
Mark Smith defensive bio:
Coach Smith has been coaching for 13 years.
He just completed his 2nd season as Head
Football Coach at
L.D. Bell HS in
Hurst, TX. He
has led the Blue
Raiders to the
Texas HS State
playoffs in each
of his seasons
as Head Coach.
His 2012 team
finished the
season with the
#2 Defense in
the DFW
Metroplex
allowing just
240.5 yards per
game. Prior to L.D. Bell Coach Smith served
on staff at the University of Oklahoma, Irving
MacArthur HS, and Colleyville Heritage HS.
Coach Smith accomplishments include 2
District Championships, 9 state playoff
appearances, a Big 12 Championship, and
coaching in a BCS National Championship
game.

damage from injuries or illness sustained during the camp.
