When entering/leaving through a closed gate, please close it behind you.
Don’t sit, climb, stand, or lean on stone walls.
Look, but don’t touch!
Moisture and oil from your hands may destroy ancient surfaces.
Please do not remove artifacts from any site.

Don’t leave trash, “offerings,” or other personal items at sites.
Offer to help by adopting a site. Contact a local Bureau of
Land Management or Forest Service office for more information.

Please ask permission before taking pictures of people, their homes,
or their livestock.
ACTIVITIES
CREDITS
Numerous recreational activities are available along the Trail Of The
Ancients, such as hunting, camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking, mountain
biking, wind surfing, boating, four wheel driving, mountaineering,
snowmobiling, gaming, and cultural experiences. Many of the recreational
opportunities are on public lands. To ensure continued enjoyment of these
recreational opportunities, please treat the land and other recreational
users with respect.

VARIOUS NAMES...
Visitors may encounter several names used to identify the people referred to
in this brochure as the Ancestral Puebloans. Other identifying names include
Anasazi, Hisatsinom, ancient ancestors, or old people.
