WACOC TIMES - Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce
WACOC TIMES
June, 2016
The Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce Newsletter
Summertime Excitement Is Upon Us
It is my first summer with the Chamber and it is proving to be an exciting
time. There is so much to do, so many plans to get in place, and so much
fun to be had. I have always been a resident of the area, so none of this is
new to me. However, this new position has brought a new perspective on
these events.
2016 MEMBERSHIP
RENEWAL
There is still time to renew
your membership for the
2016-2017 Chamber year.
The annual golf tournament and clambake will be held again on Thursday,
July 14th. Registration for the golf tournament is open and you can get the
registration form on our website. The clambake starts at 4pm and is open to
everyone, you don’t have to golf to come to the clambake.
Our membership committee
is currently organizing new
opportunities to bring more
benefits to being a Chamber
member. Renew now for
access to the following
exciting opportunities
coming your way soon.
Main Street Festival will be on Saturday, July 16th from 8am—5:00pm. This
event during the Great Wellsville Balloon Rally has long been a staple in the
area. Main Street of Wellsville becomes a huge sidewalk sale with
entertainment and food all over the place.
Moving into August brings the Music Fest into the picture. August 5th & 6th
will bring upon the biggest Music Fest that we have ever planned. Main
Street will become the hub of entertainment for that weekend with a
revamped car show, more backyard game tournaments, a fresh family
atmosphere on Saturday afternoon, and of course a whole lot of live music.
I hope that everyone comes out to enjoy these events. Everyone here at the
Chamber offices, from Board and committee members, to us here in the
office are working hard to put our best foot forward and show what we can
do in this community.

Summer Intern Plans Golf Tournament
Each year the Chamber enlists the help of college Interns to put together the
summer events. This year we have found a great one as we have brought
on Alfred University Student, Colton Wilhelm. Colton is a resident of
Addison, NY and majors in Graphic Design. You are sure to notice this in
the look of the materials coming out for the golf tournament. He has also
been working very hard at filling sponsorship opportunities and getting the
clambake organized. If you are interested in donating to the door prizes or in
any remaining sponsorship opportunities, give him a call at 585-593-5080.

Spring time is great for new beginnings and the Wellsville business
area has bee ripe with those this year. The Chamber has helped
host four Ribbon Cuttings recently. Total Senior Care opened their
new Daybreak building, Jordan Lexus Photography welcomed us into
her new studio, Karisma Boutique and Salon celebrated their move
to new ownership, and The Duke House Tea Room & Bakery
officially held it’s grand opening. Ribbon cuttings can be a great way
to get some recognition to your venture and celebrate the
entrepreneurial spirit that keeps area business vibrant. Contact the
Chamber if you are a new business or expanding on your already
established business to host a ribbon cutting of your own.

Help Us, Help You
We are always willing to help promote events that you have going on,
but we have to know what is happening. If you are posting an event
to Facebook, let us know so we can share. If you want to have us
send an email blast, a .pdf of your event flyer or poster is easy to
pass along.
We are all busy and we know how important it is to get information in
as many ways as possible. Let us help you with that where we can.

July Business After Hours
The July 2016 Business After Hours will be sponsored and hosted by Trend Addictions at their

Business After Hours is a monthly networking opportunity for Chamber members that allows
members to come together, to learn about each other’s experiences, and network. New members
are especially encouraged to attend, to learn from other successful, small town entrepreneurs.
Dress is casual and the environment is friendly. Come enjoy a beverage and some great snacks.
Door prizes are usually offered and a chance to win the ever-present Chamber 50/50 is also
possible. Reservations are not required. We’ll see you there!
