The Summer Concerts are Coming!
By Terry N. Manning
Bridgeport Summer Concert Series
4 Monday Nights Starting July 11, 2016 at Chapman Park
Sponsored by:
Community Bank, Blanding Hardware, Warner Sales & Service and Fisher Bay Too Go
We are off to great start this summer with exceptional weather over the Memorial Day holiday, the official
kick-off to the season. Due to the July 4th holiday falling on the first Monday night in July we are pushing the
start of the annual concert series back a week. We are be able to provide four consecutive Monday nights beginning July 11.
With our sponsor’s support, the concert series will again be absolutely free for all members of the community
and surrounding area to enjoy. Our line-up this year includes the following top shelf local bands for your listening enjoyment:




July 11: Thunder Canyon
July 18: The Fab Cats
July 25: TJ Sacco
August 1: The Coachmen
Based upon previous year’s successes, once again, we will have pizza and drinks available for sale at a reasonable cost. Food will be available around 6:00pm. You can eat early, if you like, and relax and enjoy the
band or perhaps shake a leg and dance it off.
Once again this will be the place to be on Monday nights this summer.
Mark your calendars now and plan to be there. We look forward to seeing you!
Please let our sponsors know that you appreciate their support of our community!

June BLCO Meeting Planned
June 6, 2016 at7:00 pm: Bridgeport Library
The next BLCO business meeting will be Monday,
June 6 at the Bridgeport Library.
We expect to have a special guest, Jody Rogers,
from the Town of Cicero, she will be sharing some
exciting news relative to Gateway Park and the
Town of Cicero Parks and Recreation programs.
After Jody’s comments we will turn our attention to
our newest community event, the Bridgeport Chittenango Creek Paddle Fest:
This event is set for Sunday afternoon, July 31 with
Stone’s Marina as the focal point. We are looking at
having live music, food, kayak, paddle board demos
and other water and outdoor oriented events. We
will be celebrating one the greatest assets of our area: Chittenango Creek our gateway to Oneida Lake,
and central New York’s water fun spot. A significant
amount of planning has been done already but, there
are the final details to be discussed and decided upon.
This event will be sponsored by the BridgeportLakeport Civic Organization with the support of the
Madison Country Tourism Agency, and the Town of
Sullivan Parks and Recreation Department.
Creekside Bottle Return
Supports the Food Pantry!
Did you know that you can make your empty returnable cans and bottles work for the Bridgeport Food
Pantry? The Creekside Bottle Return, on the corner
of Green St. and Rt. 31 will gladly accept your bottles and cans and convert them to a cash contribution
for the local Food Pantry. We all win, you win by
clearing out that coveted space and the Food Pantry
wins with your contribution.
You just made a difference with very little effort!
Thanks in advance.

Worker Bees Everywhere!
We’ve had a lot of busy people around the community working diligently to spruce things up for all to
enjoy. It was a team effort spearheaded by Martha
Eischen. The following wer e the pr imar y wor ker s
assisting: Betsy Shupe, Cathy Welch, Diane Brown
teamed up to give our welcome signs and the
Bridge some color.
The welcome signs and bridge pots will all need
some regular watering and attention…If you can
help out, please give Martha a call at 315-633-2848
or drop an email to: [email protected].
Shaun Ruxton and Ridge Outdoors can claim
