Stonegate“Officially” Part of
Greater Zionsville
As of January 2nd, 2010, the
Stonegate neighborhoods
(Stonegate and Stonegate
Proper) were officially annexed,
along with the rest of unincorporated Eagle Township, into the
Town of Zionsville.
Stonegate will continue to receive
services from Boone County from :
• Boone County Health Dept.
• Boone County Highway Dept.
• Boone County Sheriff
Zionsville Services provided for
Stonegate will come from:
The annexation was approved by • Planning Department
a Referendum on the ballot in • Parks Department
November of 2008 which elimi- • Zionsville Town Council
nated the layers of Township Services left unchanged will be

County.
• Zionsville Community Schools
Stonegate is now located in the The following Private and Public
“Rural” designated area of Utility Providers will continue to
Zionsville which means that serve the Neighborhood:
Stonegate Residents will only

cordingly.
One area of impact will be in
the issuance of new building
permits for Lot improvements. Permits for these
will now be issued by the
Zionsville Planning Department instead of Boone
County. Permits issued by
Zionsville will be subject to
the Town’s Fee Schedule.
All Lot Development plans will
still be subjected to Stonegate’s
Architectural Review Committee before they can be submitted to Zionsville.

In early January, the first appearance of a Stonegate request came
to the Zionsville Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA). The request
was for waivers of development
Standards for lots located in the
Urban Business District of Stonegate.
Riverstone Partners,
LLC are seeking requests to
build single family residences on
Lot #’s 246-249 and Lot #’s
252-255. Their requests were:
Reduction of front yard setback
(20ft. to 10ft..) along Beekman
Terrace and Beekman Place
• Reduce the minimum lot size
from 5,000 s.f. to 3,400 s.f.
• Increase the max. lot coverage
from 70% to 90%
• Allow porches/landings to extend into a side yard or front
yard by 2 - 3 ft..
•
www.stonegatezionsville.com
A number of the requests were
necessary due to the fact that
Zionsville’s and Boone County’s
Standards do not agree. One
example is that Boone County
only required a 5 ft. setback on
the side yard from the property
line and Zionsville requires a 10
ft. setback.

story.

Dear Stonegate Parents,
We need your assistance, please!
Our Stonegate Staff Members are very happy to have our neighborhood friends play on the playground, sports fields, and basketball courts during non-school hours. Unfortunately, on several
occasions recently, it has been observed that children playing before and after school an throughout the weekend are not observing the safety procedures that we enforce with our students during the school days when adult monitors are present.
Please help us to keep all of our Stonegate cherubs safe by reminding your child of the following
safety guidelines.
Sit on your pockets when on the swings and slides. When on the slides, slide down with feet in
front (no climbing up the slide). Please do not jump off of the equipment nor climb on top of
the equipment.
