The Board of Directors of the I. Sherman Greene
Chorale, Inc. is still accepting donations for our Annual Concert “Christmas Reflections,” a very special
collaboration between the I. Sherman Greene Chorale, Inc. and accomplished musician, composer, arranger, director and conductor, Mrs. Ruby Mann
Pool, and other featured conductors to include Dr.
Ruby L. Allen and Ms. Elizabeth V. Eccles.
This is a must see and experience for concertgoers and everyone who enjoys music. The historic
I. Sherman Greene Chorale will be accompanied by
Mr. Adam Davis on the organ and Ms. Ann B. McInnis and Mr. Randy Walston on piano.
The concert, a mix of classical, traditional, gospel
and choral music, composed and arranged by several
accomplished professional musicians including the
late Moses Hogan, best known for his setting of spirituals, and his most famous work “The Oxford Book
of Spirituals” created in 2002. The music of Glenn
E. Burleigh, renowned composer, conductor and pianist will create a memorable mood for Christmas.
Kirk Franklin
Glenn Burleigh
The songs of Rosephanye Powell will provide a hallelujah spirit that is soothing to the ear. She is one
of America’s premier women composers of sacred,
secular, multi-cultural and choral music. The gospel
music from the dynamic Kirk D. Franklin will bless
you and put you more into a joyful Christmas spirit.
His “Urban Contemporary Gospel” is enjoyed by
people all over the world.
The concert will be held December 8, 2013, at
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6400 Newport
Avenue, Norfolk, Virginia 23505 at 4:00 P.M. Tickets will be available at the door starting at 3:00 P.M.
For additional information you may contact Mrs.
LaVerne Wiggins Reed @ 757-620-4188. The Chorale is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization, established in 1982. We exist for the purpose of fostering,
promoting, and increasing the musical knowledge
and appreciation of the general public. Proceeds
from donations will be used to help fund student
scholarships.
