WARNING!
If the controls are not fitted correctly they may cause accidents or physical injuries.
• Do not seat the top part of the control in the straight section of the handlebar (Fig. 1).
Seat the control in the curved part with R = 65 - 75 and diameter = 23.8 - 24.2 (including any ovalization) to guarantee more
effective fixing (Fig. 1).
CAUTION
Make sure that the part of the handlebar onto which you are fitting the control has a surface rough enough to guarantee maximum adherence.

A clamp for seat tube 35 mm is available.
IMPORTANT
For frames with 35 mm seat tube, use exclusively Campagnolo clamps code DC12-SR5B.

The stroke of the cage in relation to the cable throw is checked by
Campagnolo Quality Control for each single piece produced.
The distance of the rear derailleur hanger from the first sprocket
influences this stroke, so it is indispensable to stay within the tolerance prescribed as per the drawing (Fig. 2).

Campagnolo® rear derailleurs are designed to work with dropouts
that have the dimensions shown in Fig. 3.
For your safety and for the performance of the drivetrain please
make sure that the dropout of your bicycle has those dimensions.
If you have any doubts please have a qualified mechanic inspect
your bike before using it.
Drop-outs outside these specifications can lead to a serious loss
of performance.

INSTALLING THE EPS DRIVETRAIN
1 - PREPARING THE FRAME
1.1 - GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT!
Because the presence of impurities, dirt or even worse, liquids, must be avoided during assembly of the electrical connectors, it is
important that installation of the EPS system is carried out with clean hands, in a clean environment and not carried out whilst exposed
to inclement weather in order to avoid the presence of dust, grease, water, etc. during installation.
When a bike frame is manufactured, the bottom bracket shell is often deformed. In addition, paint residue is often left on the edge of the
shell and on its threads. Therefore, in order to prevent the bottom bracket (bb) cups from being twisted off their ideal working axis, it is
necessary to face and tap the bb shell (unless this operation has been performed by the frame manufacturer).
• Make sure that the threads (A - Fig. 1) of the bb shell are
compatible with the threads of the bb cups:
- Italian thread: 36x24 tpi
- English thread: 1.370x24 tpi
• True the thread (A - fig.1) of the cassette using a suitable
tool.
• Face the bottom bracket shell (B - Fig. 2), using a suitable
tool.

Verify that the frame is free of any possible obstructions internally (i.e. bags from the production of carbon frames...).
• Correct chain line: 43,5 mm (Fig. 3).
• Chase the threads of the rear derailleur hanger (C - Fig.
4) using a tool tap with threading 10x26 TPI.

Check and, if necessary, realign the rear derailleur dropout only be using Campagnolo® tool UT-VS030 (Fig.
5).
NEVER straighten the dropout with therear derailleur
assembled because you could damage the dropout and
cause irreparable damage or loss in functionality to your
rear derailleur.

1.2 - ASSEMBLING THE POWER UNIT BRACKET
Before assembly the power unit, the EPS must be switched
off by inserting the magnet in its lodging on the lower part
of the power unit. (Fig.6).

• Two different brackets allow installation of the power unit in
two different positions on the frame.
Choose the most suitable bracket for your needs:
1) Standard bracket for installation on bottle holder holes
using the two screws supplied (Fig. 7).
2) Optional bracket for installation under the diagonal
frame tube using the two screws supplied (Fig.8).

Important!
For frames where longer cables are necessary, two extension kits are available to extend the standard cables supplied (see chapter
“Accessories”).
Each pair has polarized slots in order to make incorrect installation impossible.
In order to facilitate installation, each connector has an
arrow for alignment with the respective counterpart (Fig.
10).
In a well lit area, before installation on the frame, highlighting the arrow with a white marker is recommended.

WARNING!
The connectors must be inserted carefully, applying
moderate force, making the arrows impressed on the
male and the female line up (Fig.11).

• A mechanically secure, waterproof connection is obtained by pushing the male connector fully into the female
connector and checking that the retaining tabs are in position. (Fig.12).

The incorrect insertion of a connector could permanently damage the connector and the entire
system (Fig.13).

1.4 - CABLE CONNECTION DIAGRAM
ATTENTION
• Check that there is no water in the connectors upon insertion.
• The connector retaining tabs are delicate and must be handled carefully; damaging even one of these tabs jeopardises the connector
and the entire component.
• Do not apply any tractive force directly on the cables.

1.5 - RUNNING THE CONNECTION CABLE TO THE REAR DERAILLEUR
Each pair of connectors is distinguished by bands
of different colours in the vicinity of the connectors
(Fig.15).
Green indicates the connectors of the rear derailleur.
We recommend making the connections by combining only cables and connectors with the same colour
of reference.

• Install the power unit on the bracket (Fig. 16).
• Temporarily install the power unit (Fig. 17).

To run the cables, it is essential to have the kit of cable magnets composed of a metal cable with magnet
(“metal cable”) (Fig. 18) and a wire with connector
and magnet at the opposite end (“wire”).

Insert the metal cable Q (Fig. 19) in the hole provided
on the fork.

Run the metal cable inside the frame and bring the
magnet out from the hole provided on the down tube
(Fig. 20).
Make the connection between the cable of the power
unit and the wire (Fig. 20).

Fasten the magnet of the wire with the magnet of the
metal cable (Fig. 21).

Recover the metal cable from the side of the seat
stay. Perform this operation with caution so that the
magnets do not come unfastened inside the frame,
manually accompanying the insertion of the cable.
Bring the cable out of the power system through the
hole provided on the fork (Fig. 22) and disconnect
the wire.

1.6 - RUNNING THE CONNECTION CABLE TO THE INTERFACE
Red indicates the connectors of the interface.
We recommend making the connections by combining only cables and connectors with the same colour
of reference.
• The interface unit involves the standard assembly in
correspondence with the handlebar stem or, alternatively and with the use of clips, on the brake sheaths,
depending on the type of assembly .

Insert the metal cable (Fig. 24) in the hole provided
on the frame.

Run the metal cable inside the frame and bring the
magnet out from the hole provided on the down tube
(Fig. 25).
Make the connection between the cable of the power
unit and the wire (Fig. 25).

Fasten the magnet of the wire with the magnet of the
metal cable (Fig. 26).

IMPORTANT!
• Pay special attention to the fact that once the interface is assembled, the cables must have sufficient breadth to allow the complete
rotation of the handlebar right and left and to prevent breaking the electrical cable.
• The cables in excess, after being situated according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the handlebar or the frame,
can be conveniently collected under the tape or inside the handlebar or the frame, where allowed. If necessary, they can be fastened to
the brake sheaths. In any case, the cables must not be crushed, twisted, or bent into bends with a curvature radius of less than 6mm; for
running inside the frame use the rubber anti-vibration supports provided.
1.7 - RUNNING THE CONNECTION CABLE TO THE FRONT DERAILLEUR
Yellow indicates the connectors of the front derailleur.
We recommend making the connections by combining only cables and connectors with the same colour
of reference.

Run the metal cable inside the frame and bring the
magnet out from the hole provided on the down tube
(Fig. 30).

Make the connection between the cable of the power
unit and the connector of the wire (Fig. 31).
Fasten the magnet of the wire with the magnet of the
metal cable.

Recover the metal cable on the down tube. Perform
this operation with caution so that the magnets do
not come unfastened inside the frame, manually
accompanying the insertion of the cable. Bring the
cable out of the power system from the hole provided
on the down tube (Fig. 32) and disconnect the wire.
Make sure that the front derailleur cable does not
slide inside the frame by securing it with adhesive
tape.

1.8 - POSITIONING THE ERGOPOWER EPS CONTROLS ON THE HANDLEBAR
• Fold back the rear of the hood to expose the
securing screw.
• Loosen the bolt Torx T25 positioned in the top
of the body sufficiently to fit the clamp (Fig. 33)
on the untaped handlebar.
The ergonomics of the Ergopower™ EPS controls can be adapted for cyclists with very large
hands by applying an insert (D - Fig. 34).
Fit the “big hands” insert into the rear bottom
part of the control (Fig. 34) before installing it on
the handlebar.
Make sure that the arrow on the band faces
towards the upper part of the control unit (C Fig. 35).

• If the hood has been completely removed,
moisten the inside slightly with alcohol to facilitate installation on the control unit.
• Position the Ergopower™ EPS control in the
curved area of the handlebar and attempt to
create a straight line if the handlebar bend lets
you (Fig. 36).
- The control unit must be correctly oriented to
avoid affecting bicycle aerodynamics (Fig. 37).

• Secure the control on to the handlebar by tightening
the screw (Fig. 38) to 10 Nm (89 in.lbs) using a torque
wrench.

IMPORTANT
If you are using a carbon fibre handlebar, check the
recommended tightening torque values with the handlebar manufacturer.
Excessive tightening could damage the handlebar, whereas insufficient tightening could cause inadequate fastening of the components.

1.8.1 - Rear brake cable and HOUSING / Front brake cable and HOUSING
Rear brake cable and housing
• Fit the brake cable (1,600 mm long - diameter ø 1.6 mm)
in the bushing on the Ergopower™ EPS control brake
lever, making sure that the cable stop head fits into its seat
(Fig. 39).
• Depending on your frame, it may be necessary to cut the
rear brake housing (1,250 mm long - diameter ø 4,9 mm)
and install a housing lead end (diameter ø 6 mm, not supplied in your Ergopower™ EPS control levers package).
• Fit the housing (without the housing end) in the brake
housing retainer and secure the cable to the brake (refer
to the brake instruction manual for proper attachment of
the cable to the brake)

• Fit the brake cable (800 mm long - diameter ø 1.6 mm) in
the bushing on the Ergopower™ EPS control brake lever,
making sure that the cable stop head fits into its seat (Fig.
39).
• Fit the housing (580 mm long - diameter ø 4,9 mm) in the brake housing retainer (without the housing end) and secure the cable to the
brake (refer to the brake instruction manual for proper attachment of the cable to the brake).
WARNING!
After installation, check that the brake cables do not interfere with your steering or any other function of your bicycle. Interference
could affect your ability to turn or control your bicycle, resulting in an accident, personal injury or death.

2 - ASSEMBLING THE POWER UNIT
• Make sure that the switch-off magnet is correctly
inserted (Fig. 40).

• Insert the anti-vibration support in the slot situated
on the lower part of the power unit (Fig. 41).

CAUTION
The spacers (F - Fig. 41) provided must ALWAYS
be positioned between the bracket and the frame,
in order to allow the three cables that come out
from the power system and must be inserted in
the frame to pass freely under the bracket. The
three cables have different lengths and the connectors positioned at the ends are distinguished
by 3 coloured bands that must be connected to
the connectors positioned on the components as
shown below.

• Position the bracket on the down tube in order to
fasten the screws to the bottle holder holes (Fig. 43).
The bracket must be perfectly parallel to the down
tube.
• The position of the power unit on the frame can be
adjusted using the slots present on the bracket (Fig.
43).

IMPORTANT: When fastening the bracket, leave
the space necessary for inserting the switch-off
magnet and the connection for battery recharging
(Fig. 44).
IMPORTANT: when fastening the bracket, ensure
that the three cables leading out from the power
system and inserted into the frame pass freely
under the bracket (Fig. 44).
IMPORTANT: Carry out the assembly so that the antivibration support remains pressed against the frame,
so that it will cancel vibrations and oscillations.
• Fasten the screws to the frame (Fig. 44).

CAUTION
Check the tightening torques recommended by the manufacturers of the frame and the bottle holder. Tightening excessively may
damage the frame, while tightening insufficiently may leave the component inadequately fastened.

Tightening torque: 15 Nm (133 in.lbs).

8 - SYSTEM OPERATION TEST
Following assembly, test the operation of the system
by removing the switch-off magnet of the system and
activating the mode key of each control, also observing the LED of the interface and making sure that the
diagnostic system is not activated.

9 - FINAL OPERATIONS
• The cable running must take place EXACTLY as shown
in Fig. 68.
• If you realise that you were not able to follow the
indications shown in Figure Y, DO NOT FASTEN the
closure door E (Fig. 69), but repeat the cable running
operation until you have been able to do so correctly.
• Fasten the closure door E with the two screws provided and reposition the switch-off magnet in its seat.

• Following the installation, make sure that the electrical cables do not interfere with the steering or with any other function of the
bicycle. The cables must have sufficient breadth to allow the complete rotation of the handlebar right and left. Any interference
could jeopardise your ability to turn or control the bicycle and could lead to accidents, injury, or death.
• The cables in excess, after being situated according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the handlebar or the
frame, can be conveniently collected under the tape or inside the handlebar, where allowed. If necessary, they can be fastened to
the brake sheaths. In any case, the cables must not be crushed, twisted, or bent into bends with a curvature radius of less than
6mm.
9.1 - TAPING THE HANDLEBAR
• Fold back the hood.
• Refit the support hood in position.
9.2 - RUBBER SUPPORTS
• Fit the rubber supports on the holes in the vicinity of
the interface (Fig. 70 - 71), the rear derailleur (Fig. 72)
and the front derailleur (Fig. 73).
• At this point, install the chain according to the instructions in the Campagnolo 2012 technical manual.
The chain assembly must be carried out using only

ADJUSTMENTS
1 - ZERO SETTING of the rear derailleur
IMPORTANT!
Resetting the rear derailleur to zero is a particularly delicate operation and must be carried out when the bicycle is stationary
and placed on a stand. This is why it should be conducted only and exclusively by a Campagnolo Service Center, a Campagnolo
Pro-shop or a mechanic specialised in mounting EPS groupsets.
1.1 - How to reset the rear derailleur to zero
During the first installation and in some cases when the rear wheel is replaced, if the set of sprockets of the new wheel is very different from
the set of sprockets previously installed, it is necessary to conduct a more accurate adjustment by resetting the rear derailleur to zero.
• During the resetting, the rear derailleur is shifted continuously and this depends on how long the levers 2 (B
- Fig.1) and 3 (C - Fig.1) , located on the rear derailleur
control, are pressed. The position can be changed by even
just a hundredth.

• All the operations described below must be conducted
with the chain placed on the biggest chainring.

Be very careful: as the rear derailleur does not move at a constant speed, when lever 2 is operated to move up to the 10th
sprocket the rear derailleur may move beyond the 11th sprocket and touch the spokes.

By briefly pressing the MODE (Fig. 1) button located on the EPS controls, it is possible to save the position of the 10th sprocket and exit
the reset procedure. The flashing blue LED means you have exited the resetting procedure.
WARNING!
After resetting the rear derailleur to zero it is essential
to adjust the mechanical stop screw (E - Fig. 4), which
ensures that whatever situation may arise, the rear
derailleur does not shift inwards and touch the spokes
of the wheels.
IMPORTANT!
Once you have completed the procedure, we recommend shifting on each sprocket to make sure this is
carried out properly. Otherwise repeat the resetting
procedure.

In order to obtain a more rapid and accurate shift, the
distance of the top jockey wheel from the largest sprocket
(11th) must be adjusted.

3 - RIDING SETTING of the rear derailleur

Setting the rear derailleur when the bicycle is in motion may result in dangerous situations and cause accidents. Therefore please
be very careful if you decide to carry out this operation.
3.1 - How to carry out the setting
The setting procedure allows to adjust the reference position of the rear derailleur and is particularly useful if you intend to change the
wheel with one with a set of sprockets that are positioned differently with respect to the drop-out.
To adjust the rear derailleur, press and hold the MODE button on the EPS controls (Fig. 8) for approximately 6 seconds
until the purple LED turns on.

If the chain is perfectly centred, from the 2nd to the 10th sprocket:
• the chain moves closer to the lower sprocket by moving 3 times downwards

To save the adjustment, briefly press the MODE button located on the EPS controls (Fig. 8).

4.1 - How to carry out the setting
The setting procedure allows to adjust the reference position of the derailleur.

DIAGNOSTICS
1 - Diagnostics by the end customer
The power system features an indicator LED which remains unlit during
normal usage. The LED lights to indicate a functional fault, which is identifiable by the colour of the LED itself.
Since, in some situations, the LED on the power unit may light because
of a temporary malfunction, the operations in the following pages are
suggested for the end customer.
If the LED turns back on after these procedures have been followed,
the customer should contact an Authorised Service Centre.

1.1 - the “unhook” mechanism
In case of falling or accidental blows to the rear
derailleur, the “unhook” mechanism could be
triggered which frees the rear derailleur parallelogram from its diagonal (in order to avoid
damaging it). You will notice this because the
rear derailleur will not go below the 2nd or 1st
sprocket.
We recommend to take the rear derailleur to
the smallest reachable sprocket, stop pedalling
and act repeatedly on lever 2. In order to verify
whether the rear derailleur is hooked again, drop
down to the 1st sprocket: If this has not occurred
“manually force” the rear derailleur (Fig. 5).

After successful rehooking, check the alignment
of the drop-out/rear derailleur mount and proper
operation of the rear derailleur.
In normal operation, the rear derailleur works by
the motor driving the female screw. The female
screw is locked by a trasvere screw that pushes a
ballbearing into a depression.
When the rear derailleur is disengaged, the sphere runs into the external channel on the female
screw and so, independently from the motor activation, permits the user to change the position of
the rear gear.

1.2 - Ride back home» function
If the battery goes flat «on the road», it is possible
to use the “unhook” feature of the rear derailleur
(Fig. 4) in order to be able to move the rear derailleur position onto the required sprocket.
Once back home remember to hook the rear
derailleur back (Fig. 5) and to charge the battery.

2.2 - Malfunctions without the LEDs turning on
In some cases, EPS malfunctions occur without the LEDs on the power unit turning on:
1) one or more circuits of the rear and front derailleur are interrupted
In this case, when the lever of the defective circuit is engaged, the system does not actuate the control. The system is not able to signal
this type of malfunction.
Check the entire cable that goes from the interface to the rear derailleur or front derailleur control, making sure that there are no cuts,
crushing, or other anomalies. Visually check that the connector is correctly connected, then disconnect it and make sure there are no
traces of dirt, oxidation, or anomalies in the pins, and reconnect the connector.
If the system is switched on, the battery is charged, and you cannot find an anomaly on the cables, replace the control.
2) battery is completely flat
The system does not have sufficient energy to indicate the excessively low charge level of the battery.

BATTERY CHARGER
1 - CHARGING PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT!
This battery charger is equipped with a safety cut-out circuit which prevents overheating, short-circuiting and excessive charge
times, and also detects damaged batteries.
WARNING!
The EPS battery charger must only be used with the EPS power system. Attempting to charge different batteries with the charger
may cause accidents, injury or death.
Preliminary operations: make sure that the EPS battery
charger can be connected to the Campagnolo EPS power
system correctly without straining the output cable or
twisting or bending it excessively.
Connect the 6-pole female connector on the battery
charger output cable to the connector on the EPS power
system.
There are 2 LEDs on the power supply unit which perform
the following functions:
1) on in the presence of mains power

2) on while the battery is being charged; once the battery
is fully charged, this LED turns off.

WARNING! Leaving the device connected to the 12 VDC power socket for prolonged periods may drain the vehicle battery.
Insert the power outlet connector on the cigarette lighter into the 12 VDC socket on the battery charger (Fig. 3) and connect the plug into
the cigarette lighter power outlet in the vehicle.
While recharging the interface displays the battery charge state while the rear and front derailleur motors are deactivated. In this state,
even if the magnet is inserted to switch off the system, the battery charge procedure will not be interrupted.

WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE NEW BICYCLE, PERFORM A COMPLETE CHARGE CYCLE FOR THE EPS UNIT BATTERY BEFORE USING

BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL
1 - Verification of the battery charge LEVEL
The light indicator, normally turned off during operation,
displays the residual charge levels for the battery upon
request by briefly pressing one of the two “mode” keys
located on each EPS control (Fig. 1).

• During the recharging phase, with the battery charger
connected, the light indicator will remain active and will
constantly display the residual charging status of the battery (Fig. 2).
When the cycle is not used, the indicator lamp will flash
briefly at increasing, predetermined time intervals, and
the power system buzzer will sound simultaneously, when
residual battery charge drops below 6%.
When the bicycle is not used, the indicator lamp will flash
briefly at a fixed predetermined time interval of 5 minutes,
and the power system buzzer will sound simultaneously,
when residual battery charge drops below 6%.

2 - Front derailleur stiffness increaser
It guarantiees a perfect working of the front derailleur even with ‘brazed
on’ type mountings with low stiffness:
- carbon fibre frames with braze-on mounting in carbon fibre
- carbon fibre frames with braze-on mounting in ultra light and highly
flexible aluminium

where one can sometimes reach up to 10 mm of movement by forcing the
derailleur cage with the hands.

3 - CHAIN GUARD
The chain saver system guarantees that, when the chain descends to the smallest chain ring, it doesn’t drop onto the bottom bracket
shell, even if external forces push on it.
It’s suggested for:
• racing use if under pressure the mechanic doesn’t set the front gear correctly
• racing use where it may be necessary to shift to the smallest chainring on bends
• use of the bike on poor road surfaces or pavè
It’s compulsory for:
use of the bike on particularly badly surface roads, pavè as in ParisRoubaix, etc or other cobblestone paving.

MAINTENANCE
In case of assembly/disassembly or maintenance of the components, the EPS must be switched off by inserting the magnet in its lodging
on the lower part of the power unit.
• Periods and riding distances are purely indicative and may be significantly different in relation to conditions of use and the intensity of your activity (for example: racing, rain, salted Winter roads, weight of the rider etc.). Check with your mechanic to select a
schedule that is best for you based on your size, riding conditions and you riding style.
1 - EPS ERGOPOWER CONTROL LEVERS
• Ergopower™ control levers must be checked by a specialist mechanic every 3 years or
every 30,000 Km (18,000 miles). The cables and casings must be replaced every 2 years or
after 20,000 Km (12,000 miles).
• In the event of competitive use, Ergopower™ control levers must be checked by a specialist mechanic and cables and casings must be replaced every year or every 15,000 Km (9,000
miles).
• Lever 1 can be replaced as with mechanical systems.
2 - EPS FRONT DERAILLEUR
• Periodically clean and lubricate the pivots of the derailleurs with a suitable oil for thermoplastic components.
• Be careful not damage the component because the 3 pivots are inserted with a press since
they have a knurled area for an interference fit. Use Molikote 40 grease on the pivots.
• The cage can be replaced as with mechanical systems.
3 - EPS REAR DERAILLEUR
• Periodically clean and lubricate the pivots of the derailleurs with a suitable oil for thermoplastic components.
• If the rollers do not rotate smoothly, clean throughly and replace if necessary.
• To remove the rollers, unscrew the screws with a 3 mm Allen screw.
WARNING!
The two rollers are different: on the upper section, fit the roller marked “UPPER” (with
side play); in the lower section, fit the roller marked “LOWER”: it is unidirectional and
must be fitted so that it rotates in the direction indicated by the arrows.

Comply with the following specifications when replacing the pulleys:

4 - POWER UNIT
As the power unit EPS contains the battery pack, the following precautions must be
observed:
• Only use the battery charger supplied with the EPS drivetrain.
• Do not dismantle or modify the power unit EPS.
• Do not use the power unit EPS in the case of visible external damage.
• Do not use the power unit EPS if any of the components are damaged or in unsuitable
ambient conditions.
• Keep the power unit EPS in a safe place out of reach of children and animals.
DANGER!
Do not heat or burn the power unit EPS. Do not leave the power unit EPS in places
where the temperature may exceed 60°C (e.g. in a car on a hot day or near fireplaces or heaters). Failure to observe these instructions may cause overheating, fire or
explosion and result in severe injury or death.
If you do not intend to use the power unit EPS for a prolonged period, it must be switched off (by inserting the magnet in the respective
seat) and kept in a safe place. We recommend checking the battery charge level and fully charging the battery approximately once every
six months.
IMPORTANT!
Never use denatured alcohol to clean your EPS Power Unit.
Please contact a Campagnolo Service Center or a Campagnolo Pro-Shop for information on correctly disposing of your EPS Power
Unit.
5 - INTERFACE
IMPORTANT!
Never use denatured alcohol to clean the interface unit.
NOTE
Never wash your bicycle using pressurised water. Pressurised water - even from a normal
garden hose - may infiltrate through the seals and into your Campagnolo® components,
causing irreparable damage. Wash your bicycle and Campagnolo® components by carefully
cleaning them with soap and water and drying them thoroughly.
6 - BATTERY CHARGER
• As there are no user-serviceable parts inside the unit, do not open the EPS battery charger
for any reason.
• The EPS battery charger may only be used indoors and must not be exposed to rain or
humidity.
• The EPS battery charger must only be used to charge the battery pack for the Campagnolo
EPS power system.
WARNING!
Only use the power cable provided with the battery charger for use with mains power,
or the specific cable for use with 12 VDC power from a vehicle power socket (available
as a spare part). Using cables other than those specified by Campagnolo s.r.l. may cause
electric shock, explosion, fire, injury or death.
• Always disconnect the EPS battery charger from the mains when not in use.
• In the event of malfunction, do not attempt to open or repair the unit in any way, and take the unit to a Campagnolo service center or
pro-shop.
• Keep the EPS battery charger out of the reach of children and animals.
IMPORTANT!
Never use denatured alcohol to clean your EPS battery charger.
Please contact a Campagnolo Service Center or a Campagnolo Pro-Shop for information on correctly disposing of your EPS battery
charger.

LIMITED CONVENTIONAL WARRANTY
applicable to Campagnolo® EPS complete transmissions only
1. CONDITIONS FOR THE VALIDITY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY
1.1 Campagnolo s.r.l., with registered offices at no. 4 Via della Chimica, 36100 Vicenza, Italy (hereinafter referred to as “Campagnolo”) hereby grants to the original retail purchaser
- that is to say the first end-user purchaser - of all the components constituting a Campagnolo® EPS transmission group (hereinafter referred to as the “Customer”) the right to
benefit from this limited conventional warranty (the “Limited Warranty”) subject to the terms and conditions set forth hereinafter.
1.2 The components of Campagnolo® EPS transmissions have been designed as a single integrated system and provide the optimum levels of safety, performance, durability
and functioning only where interfaced with other Campagnolo® EPS components. Therefore, the validity, effectiveness and operation of this Limited Warranty are subject to, and
conditional upon the occurrence of ALL the following terms and conditions :
(i) the Customer shall give adequate evidence (through the original invoice, receipt or other documentation acceptable to Campagnolo) that he has purchased, installed on a
single bike and used an entire Campagnolo® EPS transmission group, complete with all its 9 (nine) components (shifters, front derailleur, crankset, chain, rear derailleur, sprockets,
power system, interface system and battery charger);
(ii) the Customer shall have registered his name, within 8 (eight) days from the purchase date, on the Campagnolo EPS Owners website accessible from the web page www.campagnolo.com; and
(iii) the Customer shall give adequate evidence that, during the Limited Warranty Period (as defined in Paragraph 3.2 hereof), all EPS components referred to in letter (i) above
which needed substitution due to wear and tear have been replaced by the Customer with equivalent Campagnolo EPS original components.
1.3 Should the Customer not satisfy all the above-listed conditions, this Limited Warranty shall be null and void, and will not be regarded as ever having come into force. In such
a case, the components of Campagnolo® EPS transmissions purchased by the Customer may be covered by Campagnolo’s limited conventional warranty (if any) offered by Campagnolo® and enclosed in such components’ packaging, provided all terms and conditions of that warranty are satisfied.
1.4 This Limited Warranty does not affect the rights provided for towards the seller in favour of the consumer under the applicable legislation on the sale of consumer goods (for
purchases made in Italy: articles 130 and seq. of the Italian Consumer Code).
2. OBJECT
2.1 Subject to all terms and conditions set forth herein, Campagnolo hereby warrants that each component of the Campagnolo® EPS transmission (hereinafter the “Product”)
purchased by the original retail Customer is free from defects in materials and workmanship. Therefore, should any Product be acknowledged as defective by Campagnolo, it will
be repaired or replaced, at Campagnolo’s sole discretion, free of charge, by an authorized Campagnolo Pro-Shop in compliance with provisions of articles 3 and 5 herebelow.
2.2 La presente Garanzia opera unicamente nei confronti dell’acquirente originario (il “Cliente”), intendendosi per tale il primo acquirente utilizzatore del Prodotto, non può essere
dallo stesso ceduta e decade automaticamente al passaggio di proprietà del Prodotto dal primo ai successivi eventuali utilizzatori.
3. CONTENTS AND DURATION OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY
3.1 This Limited Warranty only applies to original defects in material and/or workmanship of the Product, under normal use, provided such defect are timely reported by the
Customer to Campagnolo during the validity period of this Limited Warranty in compliance with the provisions of Art. 3.2 below. In particular, without limitation, the coverage
offered by this Limited Warranty shall not apply to:
a) any Products whose identification markings (serial number, production batch, product code, etc.) have been removed or tampered with;
b) any Products that have reached the end of their normal useful life cycle;
c) any defects in the Products which may result from accidents, tampering, negligence, abuse or improper use, lack of appropriate or reasonable maintenance, corrosion, incorrect
or incomplete assembly of even just one component, repairs made inappropriately or spare parts improperly assembled, use of incompatible spare parts or accessories, use of the
Product with incompatible components, modifications not recommended or not approved in writing by Campagnolo, normal wear and tear due to Product use;
d) any aesthetic imperfections affecting the surface, finishing or appearance of the Product which were evident (or should have been reasonably noticed) at the time when the
Product was purchased;
e) any defects in the Products which occurred during shipment or transport of the Products;
f) lubricants, brake pads and other consumable materials comprising the Product;
g) any costs relating to the shipment of the Product to and from an authorised Campagnolo® Pro-Shop;
h) labour costs required to remove the Product from the bicycle;
i) any compensation for disruption or lack of use of the Product whilst it is being repaired or replaced;
3.2 The validity period of this Limited Warranty shall be:
(i) as for shifters, front derailleur, crankset, chain, rear derailleur, sprockets, interface system and battery charger: 3 (three) years
(ii) as for the power system: 2 (two) years,
both such terms running from from the date of retail sale to the Customer of the entire Campagnolo® EPS transmission group, complete with all its components (hereinafter the
“Limited Warranty Period”), duly certified by means of production of the relevant invoice or receipt. NOTE: The entire EPS transmission group must be purchased simultaneously
in order to qualify for this Limited Warranty. Components purchased over time do not qualify.
The Limited Warranty granted hereunder on each component constituting the entire Campagnolo® EPS transmission group shall immediately terminate and cease to be effective
upon expiration of the relevant Limited Warranty Period, as set forth above.
3.3 Customer shall examine the Product immediately upon purchase in order to verify the existence of any possible defects covered by or excluded under this Limited Warranty.
The customer shall notify, in writing, an authorised Campagnolo® Pro-Shop operating in the Country where the Product was purchased (Pro-Shops are listed in the catalogues and
on our website www.campagnolo.com) of such defect within eight (8) days of the purchase date. In the case of latent defects, within eight (8) days, of the date they should have
been discovered. Failure to notify Campagnolo as provided herein will result in a forfeiture of any and all warranty coverage for such defect.
3.4 In case of timely notification by the Customer of any defects in the Product in accordance with article 3.3 above, the Product shall be examined on behalf of Campagnolo by the
Campagnolo® Pro-Shop, in accordance with the procedure described in article 5 of this Limited Warranty. Should the existence of the defect be acknowledged by Campagnolo,
the Product shall, at Campagnolo’s sole discretion, be repaired or replaced free of charge by the Pro-Shop.
3.5 The Limited Warranty on any Product (or component thereof) replaced or repaired in accordance with article 3.4 above, shall remain in force only until the expiration date of the
original Limited Warranty Period granted in relation to the defective Product initially purchased by the Customer. The original term of this Limited Warranty shall not be enlarged
or extended in any way.
3.6 Campagnolo shall be at any time entitled to suspend the production of any Products and/or to modify the relevant technical specifications, without any prior notice being due
to the Customer in relation thereto. In case of return of a defective Product to Campagnolo pursuant to the provisions of this Limited Warranty, Campagnolo shall not be bound
to incorporate into such Product any new characteristics or specifications developed by Campagnolo after the date of sale of said Product to the Customer. Campagnolo shall be
further entitled to replace any defective parts with similar parts (having the same efficiency and functionality) in case the original spare parts are no longer available.
3.7 No Campagnolo retailer, agent, employee or Pro-Shop is authorised to amend, extend or otherwise modify the contents and scope of this Limited Warranty
3.8 The provision by Campagnolo of any warranty service or intervention under this Limited Warranty in relation to a Product, shall not constitute, nor shall it be understood as an
admission or implicit recognition by Campagnolo of the existence of any endemic design or manufacturing defects in the Product or similar products.

4. EXCLUSIVITY, PREVALENCE, DISCLAIMER AND DAMAGES
4.1 THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SUPERSEDES ANY AND ALL PRIOR ORAL, EXPRESS OR WRITTEN WARRANTIES, STATEMENS OR UNDERTAKINGS AND REPRESENTS THE
SOLE WARRANTY OFFERED BY CAMPAGNOLO TO THE CUSTOMER IN RELATION TO THE PRODUCT. ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES NOT EXPRESSLY CONTAINED IN THIS
AGREEMENT ARE SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDED. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED BY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, AND TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAMPAGNOLO SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF THE PRODUCT OR
A CLAIM UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, WHETHER THE CLAIM IS BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT OR BY OPERATION OF LAW OR STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE, AND THEY ARE
EXPRESSLY WAIVED BY THE CUSTOMER. THE FOREGOING STATEMENTS OF WARRANTY ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER REMEDIES. Some States do not allow
the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN ANY CASE WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE RIGHTS PROVIDED FOR TOWARDS THE SELLER IN FAVOUR OF THE CONSUMER UNDER THE
APPLICABLE LEGISLATION ON THE SALE OF CONSUMER GOODS (FOR PURCHASES MADE IN ITALY, ARTICLES 130 AND SEQ. OF THE ITALIAN CONSUMER CODE).
4.2 ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING,
USAGE OF TRADE, BY STATUTE OR OTHERWISE, ARE HEREBY STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THIS WRITTEN LIMITED WARRANTY. THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE THE
SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AVAILABLE TO THE PURCHASER WITH RESPECT TO THIS PURCHASE. IN THE EVENT OF ANY ALLEGED BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY OR
ANY LEGAL ACTION BROUGHT BY THE PURCHASER BASED ON ALLEGED NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER TORTUOUS CONDUCT BY CAMPAGNOLO, THE PURCHASER’S SOLE
AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY WILL BE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE MATERIALS AS STATED ABOVE.
5. PROCEDURE
5.1 Subsequent to the timely notification by the Customer of any defects in the Product pursuant to articles 3.3 and 3.4 above, the Customer shall deliver the Product - in compliance with the procedure described in this article 5 - to the competent Campagnolo® Pro-Shop, in order for the latter to evaluate the warranty claim.
5.2 Prior to delivering any Product for inspection to the Campagnolo® Pro-Shop , the Customer shall obtain a returns authorisation code from the same Pro-Shop. The Customer
shall be therefore provided a code, which shall be clearly visible on the outside of the Product packaging. The issue by the Pro-Shop of a returns authorisation code shall not
constitute, nor shall it be construed as acceptance of the claim, whose grounds shall be assessed by the Pro-Shop following inspection of the Product.
5.3 Prior to returning the Product - complete with all its parts - to the Pro-Shop, the Customer shall clean it (dirty Products will not be handled/inspected) and package it in such a
way as to ensure that no damage can be caused to the Product during transport. The Product thus packaged shall be accompanied by:
a) original sales receipt or invoice proving the date and place of retail sale;
b) detailed description of the alleged defect;
c) chronological list of the efforts made to correct the problem;
d) list of components used with the Product;
e) estimated mileage;
f) Customer’s name, surname, address, telephone numbers and e-mail address;
g) a specific request to delete the Customer’s personal data after handling of the claim, should the Customer not to be willing his personal data to be kept by Campagnolo for
future reference.
5.4 Subsequent to the return of the Product to the Pro-Shop, Campagnolo shall carry out all necessary investigations and verifications on the Product. Should the warranty claim
be acknowledged by Campagnolo, the latter shall give prompt notice thereof to the Customer and it shall further carry out all necessary warranty interventions pursuant to article
3.4 above, within a commercially reasonable time.
6. APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION
6.1 This Limited Warranty is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Italy, with express exclusion of the provisions of the 1980 Vienna Convention on
the International Sale of Goods.
6.2 Any dispute that may arise between Campagnolo and the Customer deriving from, or in any case related to this Limited Warranty or use by the Customer of the Product,
shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction and sole venue of the Courts of Vicenza, Italy. If any portion of this Limited Warranty is invalidated or declared not effective, such
provision shall be considered reformed or deleted, but only to the extent necessary to comply with existing law. The remaining portions of the warranty remain in full force and
effect. In the event Campagnolo prevails in any court action, you agreed to reimburse Campagnolo for the expenses, including attorney’s fees and expenses of litigation, incurred
by Campagnolo in defending against your claim.
7. OTHER RIGHTS, ENTIRE AGREEMENT
7.1 Your acceptance of delivery of the warranted Campagnolo product constitutes your acceptance of the terms of this Limited Warranty. This Limited Warranty gives you specific
legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.
7.2 This document contains the entire warranty given by Campagnolo in respect to your Campagnolo Product and there are no terms, promises, conditions or warranties regarding
your Product other than those contained herein. Campagnolo specifically does not authorize any person to extend the time or scope of this Limited Warranty, or to create or
assume for Campagnolo any other obligation or liability with respect to Campagnolo Products.
8. WARNING
Campagnolo recommends that Customers carry out all product installation, use and maintenance procedures in strict compliance with the Product instructions attached to the
Products, which instructions are also available for consultation and download from our website www.campagnolo.com. Failure by the Customer to comply with such procedures
may cause damages to the Products and may even result in an accident with possible serious injuries to the Customer and/or third parties.
