Abstract
▶ Physical business meets cyber-business when product manufacturers start to
connect their products and devices with the internet. But does „doable“
automatically mean „profitable“? Establishing a direct and bidirectional
connection to your product and its users may sound like a perfect plan but
connectivity alone is never enough.
▶ Transforming their business from product-centric (physical) to internet-based
service-centric (cyber) business is a complex task for product manufacturers –
independent of company size. And technology is certainly not the biggest hurdle
on the way to success…
