FESTIVAL 2010: DOORS TO IMAGINATION
It takes a Village to raise a festival. After 19 years on the Festival committee I am enjoying my year as Chair. This festival has several new features you
will want to experience. Saturday (May 29) Holy Rosary Park Main Stage
is celebrating music with a Latin influence and the children will be entertained by the fabulous Funville allowing you to enjoy the Main Stage and
keep an eye on the kids. Music will start 11 a.m., ending with the evening
show featuring Winoski & Horn, Cubaneate Dance and festival favorites
Jive Daddy and the Mambo Kings.
Don't forget the parade kicking off the Festival Picnic. The Monday picnic has many new and interesting performers and activities. Whether you
are a volunteer, a busker, an artist in the areas of visual, literary, dance, music,
theatre, or a happy member of a satisfied audience, it is all here at this year's
festival. Thank you to those who keep the festival going, to our able
Executive Coordinator Deb Jones, and to the new committee members who
have joined in for another special festival.
And don't forget to decorate your door. This year's theme, DOORS TO
IMAGINATION, is also the public art theme for the festival. Visit the
website www.cvaf.ca and join in this celebration of culture, small business
and community in the Cathedral Village.
