Welcome
Dear St. Benedict Catholic School Supporters,
Welcome to the 14th annual St. Benedict Catholic School Auction. This year’s move to a
larger venue is an exciting new step for the auction. What started as a small fundraiser in
the auditorium has evolved into a major event in the life of the school!
As the cost to educate students gradually climbs higher our annual auction is the single
most effective way that we are able to keep tuition costs as low as possible. Every dollar
you spend at the auction goes directly into our operating budget. It would be hard to
find a more enjoyable way to reduce tuition costs! Not only this, but the auction allows
us to make school improvements that would not otherwise be possible.
This year’s Fund-A-Dream is a perfect example of an improvement to our school
programs that would be impossible without the support of the auction. The planned
technology upgrades will allow us to better integrate computers into our classrooms and
put these important new tools into the hands of our students.
It is only with your help and generosity that St. Benedict Catholic School is able to
continue its tradition of providing strong academic and spiritual instruction.
Thank you for joining us tonight as we support Catholic education.
Sincerely,
Fr. Mark Guzman
Pastor

Nelson is a graduate of the Missouri Auction School and the University of Washington. He is a member of the National Auctioneers Association and holds the Benefit Auctioneer Specialist designation. While brand building for a Seattle brewing pioneer, during the heady days of the craft-‐beer revolution, Nelson developed a passion for creating rousing consumer-‐engagement events as he worked both behind the scenes and the microphone to deliver unique and memorable guest experiences. While at the brewery he attended a benefit auction with the late, great Seattle auctioneer extraordinaire, Dick Friel. From that moment Nelson was hooked on charity fundraising through the live auction method. Today he helps foundations, non-‐profits, trade associations, schools and other charitable organizations raise money for worthy causes with humor, style and witty repartee.
