Finally, we are gearing up for the election for
officers for the upcoming 2012-2014 term. We need
people to work on the Nominating Committee, the
Election Committee AND (most importantly) to agree
to run for office. If you are interested, please feel free

Until we dance again,
I had the honor of representing HULDA at the
10th Annual United We Dance Reunion (UWD) held
in Indianapolis, June 2-5, 2011. Let me tell you,
UWD was a blast! The conference gave me the
opportunity to meet people from all over the country
and learn new and exciting dance moves. The
experience prompted me to scurry back to H-Town
and immediately urge the Program Committee to put
together a HULDA Dance Workshop for this summer.
Our workshop will give others the opportunity to
experience the dances that were taught at the UWD.
Even though we can’t teach the full line-up of dances
offered at UWD, we will teach several of the more
popular dances that were demonstrated there. Our
workshop will be held on July 23, 2011 from 2:00 4:00 p.m. at SSQQ Dance Studio here in Houston.
Even with this exciting news, don't forget our
other remaining events for the year which will include
the End of Summer Blast on August 19th, The
Masquerade Party on October 28th, and Christmas
Gala scheduled for December 10th.
We are always seeking new members and
volunteers for any of the HULDA standing
committees. If none of the existing committees or
projects peak your interest, you can head up a new
committee. Bring your idea to my attention and I will
definitely present it to the Executive Board and
membership. Remember, you bring the idea - you
work on the committee (;-).

Crescent Roll Pockets
1 pkg. (4 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 small jar of pimentos
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. chives, chopped
2 cups cooked chicken, diced
(or substitute 16 oz. of canned chunk chicken)
1 can (8 oz.) crescent rolls
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1. Mix together the cream cheese, pimentos, salt,
pepper, milk and chives until blended.
2. Add chicken.
3. Unfold two crescent rolls and overlap slightly,
pressing seams together to make a rectangle.
4. Repeat step 3 with remaining crescent rolls.
5. Divide chicken mixture evenly in the middle of
dough and fold up corners to make a pocket.
6. Brush melted butter on the top of each crescent
roll pocket and sprinkle bread crumbs on top.
7. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes.
8. Refrigerate any leftovers.
