MESSAGE FROM
THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF ENERGY,
GREEN TECHNOLOGY AND WATER,
DATUK SERI PANGLIMA DR. MAXIMUS JOHNITY ONGKILI
Since its inception in 2010, the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference
has grown to be recognised as a signature event in the ASEAN region. This year the 6th IGEM
2015 is once again hosted by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water together with
the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation.
IGEM 2015’s theme “Powering the Green Economy” reflects the path we have moved towards
to realise our nation’s Green Agenda. The strategic focus on green economy as the prime mover
for sustainable development and economic growth has caught on ASEAN countries and many
developed countries globally.
IGEM 2015 is anchored on two significant conferences, namely, the Green Financing
Conference and the 3rd E-Mobilia World. The Green Financing Conference aims to facilitate
exchange of information and create awareness on best practices and regulatory requirements
to leverage private finance for green growth and reduce dependence on limited public finance.
The trend of using electric vehicles (EV) to address carbon emission has shown a growth of
122% from 2011 until 2014, putting 250,000 EVs on the road globally. Thus, with an expected
exponential growth in the use of EV, E-Mobilia will showcase the exciting auto transformation
trend of electric mobility that is fast trending in Europe, East Asia and the USA.
On the sidelines, the Seminar on GDP Growth through Renewable Energy and Conference in
Energy-Efficient Technologies in Malaysia are continuing efforts to glean our minds for
innovative new ideas or value-adding current ones in enhancing the green economy. IGEM 2015
also continues to display the ever swift innovative developments in green technology and
market expansion of competitive green good and services.

additional support. The continuous support of exhibitors, speakers, participants and visitors will
ensure IGEM remains another significant milestone of the country’s Green Agenda. I wish every
participant an insightful and fruitful IGEM 2015.
