Hotchkiss (alisonevents.com) specializes in weddings that make the most of NorCal’s noted settings—from museums to estates, barns to vineyards.
“We try to be one with the space,” says Hotchkiss.
In Santa Barbara, Kim Curtis and Ashley Alleman
(toastsantabarbara.com) design weddings that
incorporate personal elements. “For one reception,”
says Curtis, “we set out the groom’s
vintage typewriters for guests to compose messages to the couple.” L.A.
planner Kate Fujimoto (katefujimoto.com)
brings her background in fashion—having worked for Marc Jacobs and Trina
Turk—to her weddings. “I find beauty in
simplicity,” says Fujimoto, “which
doesn’t mean bare bones, but just a
certain level of taste and balance.” 38
