The TravelPower module kit:
Components for customer-specific vehicle equipment
You can supplement any other components as you require.
TravelPower generates an electrically insulated output voltage. In this
way, a separate appliance can be easily connected without additional
safety precautions. Note: a fault protection switch (residual current circuit
breaker) is required for the operation of several appliances.
To meet all the day-to-day requirements cost-effectively, TravelPower
from Dometic was designed as a modular system. Only the two core
modules that are certain to be used are included in the scope of
delivery: the generator and the electrical unit. Special assembly
parts for the vehicle, such as the appropriate assembly kit and the
screened connection cable between the generator and electrical unit,
can of course be ordered separately.

The eCORE central unit takes centre stage in
the Dometic energy management system. It
monitors the system, switches devices on or
off, makes for safe operation, charges the batteries, keeps an eye on all electrical devices.
Featuring a sine wave inverter and an automatic
battery charger it manages even highly complex
energy supply scenarios with ease and in complete
autonomy. The system automatically wakes up
from standby mode, ready for power generation
and charging, when mains power is connected
or the vehicle engine started. The battery save
function automatically protects precious battery
reserves when mains power is disconnected, or the
engine is stopped. A configurable countdown timer
sends the eCORE to standby if power is not restored. The generator ePowerT was developed specifically for eCore and is directly controlled by eCore.
In automatic mode with enabled generator function
eCore starts the ePowerT generator when needed
therefore independently. Of course, eCore can also
be connected to all other Dometic generators.

Generator function
If the capacity of the external power supply is not sufficient,
the power support function can be activated. The additional power
requirement is covered with the battery power via the inverter
output. To conserve the battery, the inverter operation can be
limited. The consumers that are connected to 230-volt direct output
are powered by the external power source provided the retrieved
current does not exceed the set power-sharing level (corresponding
to the protected current of the 230-volt input). Note: For the power
support function the two 230-volt outputs are electrically isolated.
If the external power source does not provide enough power
to meet all needs, the fuse usually blows. To prevent this,
CombiPower can put on the generator function to make more
power available. This is taken from the battery and converted by
the inverter to a pure sine wave voltage. Once the required power
falls below the power-sharing level (corresponding to the protected
current of the 230-volt input), CombiPower charges the battery
again.

A well-charged battery (or battery bank) is a prerequisite for using
one of the many CombiPower functions. This is why the device
has been designed so that any excess power is used to charge
the battery. CombiPower works with a high-quality automatic
charger with 6-step charging characteristics (modified IU0U curve):
1. Analysis phase, 2. I-phase (bulk), 3./4. U0-phase (absorption),
5. U-phase (floating), 6. Conditioning (every14 days).

The device is equipped with a connection for a second, smaller
battery. This connector can be used to charge a starter battery,
for example, with a 3-step charging curve. The charging voltage is
14.4 V or 28.8 V. The maximum charging current is 5 A or 2.5 A.
