THE FAMOUS ACHENSEE RACK RAILWAY
For more than 119 years the train has wound its way up from the valley to the Achensee – approx. 7 km and an altitude difference of 440 m. This rack railway is the oldest of its kind in
Europe. And, once at the lake, one of the Achensee ships awaits visitors for a round tour.

HANNIBAL - THE GLACIER SPECTACLE
Every year Sölden puts on an extravaganza to celebrate Hannibal’s historic crossing of the Alps.
This truly unique spectacle is staged at 3,000 metres above sea level on the Rettenbach glacier
and features more than 500 actors, snowcats, helicopters, aeroplanes, and air acrobats.

consists of 22 stages, taking you to some of the valley’s most remote and unspoilt spots, to
