Receiving Holy Communion
Orthodox Christians who have prepared spiritually are invited to come forward “with
the fear of God, with faith, and with love” to receive Holy Communion.
Non-Orthodox Christians may receive the blessed bread (antidoron) offered at the
conclusion of the service, but not Holy Communion.
Preparation for Holy Communion includes confession of sins (even of sinful thoughts)
and repentance, making peace with those around us, forgiving those who hurt us, asking
for forgiveness from those we have hurt, and prayer. There is a special set of prayers
called "Preparation for Holy Communion" to help prepare.
If you have further questions regarding the proper preparation for Holy Communion,
please speak with Fr. Panayiotis.
