in four 5’ tubes instead of two 10’ pieces. The tubes are identified as the spar and boom and simply have to be

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
MAST STUB INSTALLATION (see the assembly drawing on the next page for Insert - Fig. 1.)
Install the mast stub assembly (1) to the first rib at the front of the canoe using the two adjustable
clamps (2). Open the worm clamps and slide the end of the clamp under the rib and around both rib
and assembly and tighten.
Attach brace assembly to the bolt which is already installed in front of canoe and secure with hex nut
(3). NOTE: Due to temperature changes the foam liner may shrink or expand. Therefore it may be
necessary to tap the front rib forward or back for the brace to fit over the bolt. If the rib is hard to
move due to friction against the foam, try lubricating the foam in the area where it is binding with a
small amount of liquid dish soap.
MAST INSTALLATION (see the assembly drawing on the next page for Insert - Fig. 2.)
Bolt the boom (4) to spar (5) using bolt (6) and hex nut (7), then affix the sail cloth (8) by sliding it
over the tubes. Make sure that the cut outs in the sail match up with the predrilled holes in the boom
and spar. Insert in the pre-drilled holes, the four eye bolts (9) and secure with hex nuts and plastic
acorn nuts (10). Place the four vinyl caps (11) on the ends of the spar and boom. Install the mast
bracket (12) on back of boom (4) using machine screws (13), hex nuts (3) and plastic acorn nuts (14).
Attach the eye bolt (16) to the mast (15) through pre-drilled hole using hex nut (3) and plastic acorn
nut (14). Place vinyl cap (17) on top of mast (15).
Slip the mast through bracket on back of boom (4), through the hole in the deck of the canoe and over
the mast stub (1).
Tie 10' length of rope (18) to centre eye bolt on spar (5), thread rope through eye bolt (16) at top of
mast (15) and secure around mast under deck.
Tie 22' length of rope (19) to centre eye bolt (9) of boom (4), then through eye bolt (9) at end of
boom (4).
LEEBOARD INSTALLATION (see the assembly drawing on the next page for Insert - Fig. 3.)
To attach the lee boards (26), place bracket (20) on centre thwart (21) and secure with the two 1"
bolts (22) washers (23) and 2 wing nuts (24). Using one carriage bolt (25), attach lee board (26) to
bracket (20) and secure with washer (27) and wing nut (28). Make sure that the beveled side of the
leeboard (26) is toward the front of the canoe. Install second leeboard assembly on the opposite side
of the canoe. Note: Do not over tighten the leeboard wing nuts as lee boards are designed to swivel
up as you come into shallow water.
The paddle is equipped with oarlock (29) that is to be installed in the hole in the motor mount (30)
and then used as a rudder.
An important factor to remember in controlling the canoe is to have it properly trimmed or leveled at
all times. If sailing solo load your gear in the front to aid in trimming.
