THE EVENT
The first edition of GENOA SHIPPING WEEK, was born
by the union of two International events based in Genoa
(“Port&ShippingTech Forum” and “Shipbrokers
and Shipagents Dinner”) and has brought to Genoa
over 5.000 guests from more than 40 countries in
order to be present to the scheduled 20 events.
The 2013 edition was animated by a series of
conferences and meetings opened to the whole
international shipping community. These events have had
leading moments such as the Main Conference
Port&ShippingTech and the traditional Gala Dinner,
organized by the Genoa Shipbrokers and Shipagents
Group.
The second edition of the GENOA SHIPPING
WEEK will be held in Genoa from the 14th to the
20th of September 2015.
The week will host a series of conferences, workshops,
summits and open meetings to the entire international
shipping community,which will end with the traditional
Gala Dinner Party, organized by brokers and shipping
agents in Genoa.

The project "CONTAINERS IN THE CITY" placed in the city center of Genoa,
includes the creation of a promotional, cultural and training pole dedicated to the
containerized logistics. The proposed tangible product is the temporary installation
of two containers. The aim of the project is to offer the possibility of a cognitive
and promotional window for companies / institutions, to create employment and
aggregate information as well as opportunities for interaction between supply and
apply

jobs.
The purpose is offering visitors, citizens and tourists an information pole on
shipping, meeting industry experts directing them to the places where the events
will be organized. Promote Genoa as the capital of shipping.

Third volume of the series to sea by Farida Simonetti – Sagep Editions
The book " Archeologia industriale e architettura contemporanea nel Porto di
Genova" takes us to the discovery of the port of Genoa and to its wonderful
examples of industrial archeology. It is the title of the preface of Farida Simonetti
which calls for reflection on the relationship between ancient and contemporary in
that urban area, which, unlike the rest of the city, is constantly changing. The book
continues with the participation of Guido Rosato which offers a snapshot of such
diverse and unique areas of the port, the synthesis of all the contradictions and the
beauty that this city offers showing us its way of living. The book continues with a
series of speeches on the subject collected by Professor Rosso Del Brenna, including:
Renzo Piano, Giancarlo De Carlo, Ennio Poleggi. Finally, the core volume, le
Schede, namely a reasoned presentation of the places of the port of Genoa with
pictures compared to yesterday and today made by Patrizia Traverso, author of
several photography books.

Ships have always been a vehicle for exchanging goods, ideas, knowledge and
technologies – an exchange on which the Mediterranean cultures were based and

As usual, during the visit to the palaces historical and artistic information will be
given by students and researchers of the University of Genoa, who will provide their
valuable contribution.
During Rolli Days a sound installations by Susan Philipsz (Glasgow, 1965) will be
set up. The artist's voice will guide visitors on a walk that goes from the courtyard of
the Royal Palace through Via Garibaldi and the Palazzi dei Rolli, the central
courtyard of the Palazzo Ducale ending into the park of Villa Croce.
