Abstract : As one as the mobile phone contents, electronic books and magazine, especially comics, are
expected to have potential possibility. In viewing comics on mobile phones, the resolution and the size of
screens must be inadequate. A comic then needs to be decomposed into frames and put them in order to
be read properly, whereas it is known that an accurate decomposition is not easy. In this paper, we
propose an accurate and fast clipping method using contour tracing and evaluate it comparing with a
commercial technology.
