WOW!! What a wonderful response to our request for Flower
Deliverers! Because of your kindness, our Altar Flower
Ministry will continue to reach those who are not able to join
us in Sunday worship due to health or life issues. Altar
Flowers will be delivered each week to those in need of a
little “uplifting”. Thank you so much to the wonderful
church members who will be making sure this Ministry is
continued.
I would like to thank Roxie Waters and Ann Van Schuyver
for delivering the beautiful flowers from the sanctuary.
They really made my day. I love this caring church.

SUNDAY SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
EMMANUEL CLASS:
Happy Mother’s Day! Maryanne read a sweet piece concerning Mothers. We had 31 present. We welcomed our visit,
Barbara Beavers, whose son needs our prayers. Our concerns
include Wynelle’s daughter and Mary Ross who recuperating.
Remember our retreat is May 21 at Sunny Ridge at 9:00 a.m.
with a catered meal that is $10 and needs to be paid in advance. Barbara Jones has wonderful things planned. Judy
Brown’s joy was attending her granddaughter’s graduation
from UT in Tyler. Happy Birthday to Margie Crunk on May 5
and Luecille Kearby on May 9. Harvey’s lesson focused on
Mother’s Day. He shared three stories of Mothers who
offered the invitation to know Christ to their children. We all
have had the opportunity to know God. What is our
response? To have the faith Samuel had, we need to believe,
listen and obey in order to have a partnership with God.
Thanks Harvey for a good lesson.
PARTNERS IN FAITH:
Happy Mother’s Day! We had 16 PIF’ers in class this morning.
Thank you to Judy for the snacks. Very tasty! We read through
chapter 13 in our study book and we started working through
the discussion questions. Next week we will pick up with
question 2. President Wills has placed the order for our new
study book and they will be arriving shortly. Our class is scheduled to work the resale shop this coming weekend. We have
filled all shifts. If you signed up for a shift but find yourself
unable to work the shift please find a substitute. The season
for graduations is upon us. The Chatham’s granddaughter,
McCall, is graduating high school and will be headed off to
Oklahoma State University. Friends of Carolyn Hames, Megan,
Chandler and Paige are all graduating high school and will be
headed off to Texas Tech. We are very proud of all of them
and we too celebrate their accomplishments. Linda’s dad
celebrated his 87th birthday and Ed’s grand niece attended her
first communion! Lots of great things going on with our loved
ones in the PIF Class. During your daily prayer time this week
please continue to remember Paul, Jackie and Barbara’s
co-worker. Have a great week! Snacks: Mason
UPPER ROOM CLASS:
Our study of James continues, having competed the fourth
chapter, therefore read and study chapter 5 and prepare
yourself for discussion and participation next Sunday.
Twenty-nine members were present on a beautiful Mother's
Day Sunday. Roxie's son still needs your prayers as he will
have another chemo treatment coming up soon. Paul Nickel
is doing OK but still has a few weeks of therapy to do after his
knee surgery. Congratulations to Mary and Suhail Khoury
on their 48th wedding anniversary on Friday, May 13th.
Excerpts From The Past: On March 22, 1980, the Upper
Room Class had a mini-retreat at the Ellis' home in Wills
Point, Texas. Then on May 2-3-4 we had our annual retreat
at Glen Lake.
Devotion: Bostick
Coffee: Hooper
HEBREWS CLASS:
We had 9 people in class this week and we celebrated
Mother's Day with a fabulous breakfast! We also have a
signup sheet for Graduation Sunday and 4th of July Party
for what foods people want to bring, if you are in class next
Sunday you can sign up then, but I will also post it on here
after next Sunday! So think about what you could contribute. Our lesson this Sunday was all about the important
moms in the Bible. We talked about Eve, Sarah, Rebecca,
Bathsheba, Yoshabel, Mary, and a few more. We were
discussing who they were and what significant things they
did! We used multiple scriptures from Proverbs, and also
Deuteronomy 5:16.
GENESIS CLASS:
Thanks George for another great lesson! You make it interesting by turning your life’s situations into a good Christian
lesson!
Joys and Concerns – Susan’s mom not doing too good, she
is back at Green Valley; Robyn, Paris’ niece; Art goes back
to the doctor Wednesday and hopes he released to drive;
Philip, Jones’ son in law’s back surgery went well; Brandi,
Turner’s daughter, is in hospital with abdominal pain having tests run; Jackie made it home out of the snow; Jason,
Jackie and Gary’s oldest son’s birthday on Mother’s Day
and he was born on Mother’s Day! Bishara’s neighbor Gaye

NEW COVENANT:
Today we had the second lesson in our series by Andy Stanley. Time—how do you spend it or waste it? Time is one of
the few things you only get so much of—so we should all
make te best use of our time. We continue to keep Bill and
Stephanie in our prayers as well as Matt and Linda. More
details will follow about our June cook out at the Hughes’.
Have a great week and remember Pentecost is next week!
