iSquad Training Camps
There will be four training camps. Each training camp will be on a Saturday and Sunday from
10AM - 3PM, tentatively scheduled for October and December 2015 as well as January and March 2016.
We’ll kick off with what it takes to design for large and small screens—from desktops to smartphones.
You’ll start to use tools and techniques to create websites and applications and get introduced to
coding. In subsequent sessions, you’ll practice creating your own website or application and prepare
for design challenge events.
In between training camps, you’ll be responsible for studying what you’ve learned.
Design Challenges
There will be two design challenge events. Each design challenge event takes place on an evening and
all day the next day. At design challenge events, students, staff and parents in Denver Public Schools
pitch their idea for an educational website or app. You will help design, create, and model their idea
using your newfound design and coding skills.
The design challenge events are tentatively scheduled for February and April 2016.
