The English Language and Culture Program (ELC) provides an academic pathway to
Simon Fraser University’s undergraduate degree programs and will prepare you to live
in English.

The pathway to an undergraduate program at
SFU begins at ELC with a full-time, 16-week
immersion English program. ELC courses,
which are small and very interactive, will help
you to improve your English reading, writing,
listening, and speaking skills. You’ll also learn
to develop the communication and academic
skills you need to succeed at university.

The English Language and Culture Program
(ELC), along with many other SFU departments
and faculties, is located at SFU’s downtown
Vancouver campus, where more than 5,000
students attend class each semester.
Your classes will take place in the city’s centre,
where you’ll be surrounded by stores,
