own myconnect card with money loaded to

We suggest you visit a MyCiTi station a few
days before the start of the new services
to purchase a myconnect card, load it with
money and find out more about how the
system works. There are station kiosks
operating at Civic Centre, Thibault Square,
Granger Bay and Gardens. The new Queens
Beach station in Beach Road, Sea Point,
will be open for business a few days before
services are launched on 2 November 2013.
Fares are calculated on the distance you
travel and are deducted from your card.
When you board a MyCiTi bus you must tap
in by holding your myconnect card against
the validator to start your journey, and tap
out by doing the same when you end it. You
must do this correctly or a penalty fare will
be charged.

New MyCiTi services for City Bowl and Sea Point launch on
2 November 2013
The MyCiTi service is now ready to
launch in Sea Point, Vredehoek and
Oranjezicht. This means commuters
must get their myconnect cards to use
these brand-new services.

ith the launch of the new routes, Golden
Arrow buses and minibus taxis offering
services on these routes will be withdrawn and
phased out. This means that users of these
services need to get ready to use MyCiTi.
The new routes are:
101 Vredehoek - Gardens - Civic Centre
103 Oranjezicht - Gardens - Civic Centre
104 Sea Point - Waterfront - Civic Centre
105 Sea Point - Fresnaye - Civic Centre
MyCiTi is the City of Cape Town’s integrated
rapid transit system, which is being rolled out
across Cape Town. It is an affordable, safe,
MyCiTi services will operate in more areas from

Withdrawal of bus and minibus taxi services
If you are a regular user of public transport
in Sea Point and the City Bowl please take
note that from 2 November the following
services will be withdrawn:
• Golden Arrow bus services from the V&A
Waterfront to central Cape Town.
• Golden Arrow bus service on Beach Road,
Sea Point.
• 32 minibus taxis serving Vredehoek and
Oranjezicht.
• 133 minibus taxis serving Beach Road and
High Level Road in Sea Point.
Users of these services need to be ready for
MyCiTi by getting a myconnect card loaded
with enough money to travel.
