Dear Eurest Associates,
Welcome to the 2016 Be-A-Star Program – “Leading the Field: Greatness Grows Here.”
People who foster a growth mindset consistently thrive on challenges and seek out new
opportunities. They believe their abilities and intellectual capacity will flourish over time by
embracing aggressive goals and working hard to achieve them. A growth mindset is not being
locked into thinking you are defined by the hand you are dealt, but is one you can cultivate and
change at any point in life. This is what the 2016 Be-A-Star program is all about.
This year’s Be-A-Star program, “Leading the Field: Greatness Grows Here,” will be mastered by
associates who nurture their growth mindsets; associates who take the lead in everything they
do to set the standard for hard work, proactive thinking and pure dedication. We will identify
this year’s winners by the pride they exhibit and their determination to always reach for
greatness.
Aligned with our MAP objectives and Eurest-specific strategic goals, the Stars in this program
primarily focus on personal development of our great associates, business growth through
customer participation, and standardization of production processes through Webtrition. Here
is a quick glance at each Star:
Star 1:
•Successfully launch of the Be-A-Star program with your team
•Leading the Field in Safety
•Your Path to a Great Career
Star 2:
•Compass in the Community
•Webtrition
•Associate Development
Star 3:
•Diversity & Inclusion
•Participation Builders
Star 4:
•Budget compliance (PBO) through P9
Remaining the industry leader calls for us to continually grow as individuals and as a company,
and Eurest cultivates a landscape where growth is everywhere. But it’s up to you to seize the
opportunity. Will greatness grow with you? This is your time!
Best Regards,
Tony McDonald

Your Path to a Great Career
To be successful in achieving performance goals, or personal development, we all need to focus
on development throughout the year. To help guide managers and associates through the
process and achieve the best results possible, the Annual Development Cycle has been
developed by Talent Management.
Specific action steps, training tools, and deadlines are outlined for each quarterly focus from
both a manager and associate perspective. This allows associates and manager to complete
their individual development activities while maintaining an aligned focus throughout the year.
How to get started:
1. Complete all associate and direct report appraisals
2. Create a Personal Development Plan (PDP) for yourself and encourage your associates to do
the same.
3. Schedule a mid-year check in with your associates to see if their development needs are on
track.
4. Complete the Great Careers Achievement Form; don't forget to include pictures.

Achievement 4 – Optional Recognizing a HERO
Our PEOPLE MAP
This optional achievement is a wonderful way to recognize your associates who are the key to a
successful business.
Although Compass Group’s HERO, Aim Higher program is intended as an everyday form of
recognition for all Compass associates, Eurest has developed a higher caliber, company-level
recognition program, “Recognizing a HERO”. By submitting an associate nomination using the
Eurest Recognizing a HERO Form, you are giving the associate the chance to receive a
Eurest-branded HERO lapel pin and certificate of recognition in a hard-cover binder, being
published in an internal communication, and even a chance to be one of 8 winners per Division
to receive a $50 gift card! Please note that this program is geared toward recognizing
individuals and not entire teams.
In addition to empowering the associate, this program is also designed to motivate others by
showcasing the associate’s accomplishments through “telling the story” during service trainings
and internal publications.
How to Get Credit:
1. Write a detailed paragraph about why the associate should be recognized. Be sure to include
performance feedback; call out specific behaviors that showcase the associate’s attributes.
2. Collect photos, stories, comment cards, or letters from customers and peers that
demonstrate how the associate went ‘above and beyond the call of duty.’
3. Complete the ‘Recognizing a HERO’ form and EMAIL the form and any supporting items
directly to Alison Lambert at [email protected].
HERO Awards:
1. Each submission meeting the criteria will receive a HERO pin and hard-cover binder
containing a certificate of recognition for display. HEROes are encouraged to wear their Eurest
HERO pin as a status symbol and reminder of their commitment to service excellence. There is
no limit to the amount of pins an associate can receive. Additionally, HEROes may be
recognized within Eurest's internal publications.
2. At the end of the Be-A-star program, 8 winners per division will be selected and awarded a
$50 gift card each, in addition to their pin and certificate previously received. These winners
will be selected at the end of the Be-A-star Program from all of the HERO submissions received
throughout the year.

Diversity & Inclusion Defined
Compass Group believes a diverse and inclusive environment supports innovation and
collaboration, and benefits our associates, clients and customers.
Diversity
is the presence of differences that make each person unique that can be used to
differentiate groups and people from one another. There are a number of different dimensions
of diversity*, however diversity is simply what makes you…you.
Inclusion
is the full engagement and development of all associates. Inclusion is what makes our
*
diversity
matter. Inclusion fuels creativity, allows us to attract and retain a highly skilled
workforce, and helps us to deliver positive business results.

Dimensions of Diversity
Diversity is the presence of differences that make each person unique that can be used to
differentiate groups and people from one another. Many think of gender, race, ethnicity and
age when they think of diversity, but there are various dimensions of diversity beyond those
that we can see. The following diagram visually depicts this concept quite well:
➢
➢
➢
➢
Primary
- makes up our personality
Secondary
- reflects our lifestyle choices
Organizational
- represents the roles we chose
Cultural
- reveals how we’re influenced by our cultural experiences
Remember, no one dimension is more important than the other. All aspects of diversity are
important and worth consideration.
