What Sets You Apart | We are a locally
owned and operated family business. The
Stacy family has lived in Grapevine and

Southlake for generations. My dad, Rick
Stacy, founded the company over 20 years
ago in Southlake. Our family is rooted in
this community; we take a very personal
approach to customer service. We live here,
go to church here, our kids go to school
here—that has always kept us very focused
on our customer’s experiences. Nobody
wants to run into an unhappy customer at
church or a football game, so we try much
harder to do the best we can every day.
Best Advice Received | That there are
always two sides to any story….
Challenges | Our challenges are everchanging as the furniture industry continues

to evolve and grow. As a buyer, I’m always
reworking our merchandise assortment to
be sure we have the latest fashionable home
furnishings on our showroom floors. This can
be very overwhelming at certain times during
the year after market when new arrivals start
flowing in and new floor plans need to be put
in place. I’m personally challenged with trying
to balance the many tasks that fall to my desk
as president of Stacy’s. Many times in a day,
I’ll “switch hats” from advertising, to buying, to
personnel or even the showroom floor. While
it is important to us to have that small, family
business-feel, we are growing each and every day
and making improvements along the way. It’s a
lot to keep up with.

Your Inspiration | My family and our
employees have inspired me the most. As
president, I see everyone working together to create a great place to work and shop
and that makes me very proud. It helps me
to know I can lean on them for teamwork,
strength and guidance when I need it and
that inspires me to work harder for them,
each and every day.
Personal Mission | I believe that the
Golden Rule was a good one and I set out to
“treat our customers and our employees as
I would want to be treated” and in my case,
that is just like family. My personal mission is
to work hard every day I’m supposed to, to
relax when it’s time for that, to live my life

with integrity, honesty and to be trustworthy
both personally and professionally.
Setting the Standard | I always want to be
proud of the products and services we represent.
Many times, I’ve said the furniture we carry has
to be good enough to go to my grandmother’s
home or we don’t need it. We have furniture for
every budget and every stage of life, somewhat a
good, better, best story; and each item has to be
of a quality level I’m proud to sell.
Charitable Work | It is very important to
me to give back to the local community. We
contribute to many local schools, fundraisers, chambers and other charitable events
throughout the year. From Project Gradua-
tions, GRACE, MDA, Red Cross, Meals on
Wheels and Holton’s Drive for SIDS, we’re
proud to be able to help give to those in need.
You Should Know | I surround myself
with amazing, talented people and always
work to create a fun, flexible environment
with a family mindset. My Grapevine team
of designers helps me do just that. Our senior
designers are registered by the state of Texas
and many are members of the American
Society of Interior Design as well.

Blue Stone Dental
[Rebecca Lauck, dds, fagd, dabc]
Specialty | General dentistry that focuses on the entire
family. Blue Stone Dental performs all phases of dentistry
for young to older patients with a focus in cosmetic dentistry,
orthodontics, TMJ pain and sleep apnea alternatives. We
offer Six Month Smiles®. If you are an adult (15 years and
older) with crooked or spaced teeth and you don’t want a
major alteration to your bite, this could be the solution
for you! Focusing on the teeth that show when you smile,
we can comfortably straighten the teeth and give you the
attractive smile you’ve always wanted in an average time
of just six months.
What Sets You Apart | Our advanced training in many
areas of dentistry allows us to perform all treatments in one
office without needing to refer to specialists for implants,
sleep apnea, braces, TMJ, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry,
dentures or root canals. We practice Mercury-free and
Mercury-safe dental health, and take all the necessary
precautions in the removal of old mercury fillings. Patients
should know that silver fillings contain 50% mercury and
constantly release mercury vapors.
Birth-Fletcher Orthodontics
[TMJ, Dental Headaches & Migraines, Tooth Crowding & Malocclusions]
Specialty | We specialize in orthodontics,
Invisalign, braces, treatment of TMJ and
persistent headaches, jaw, tooth, face, neck
and shoulder pain. We utilize systems and
methods perfected in sports and advanced
dental medicine. The treatments are painless,
pleasant and require no drugs or needles. We
are able to provide lasting relief from issues that
you may have suffered with for many years. We
treat and resolve the underlying cause of the
problem, not just the symptoms. We treat all
patients – children, teens and adults.
What Sets You Apart | Orthodontists
are traditionally trained to straighten your
teeth—which we love doing. Now, with
modern technology and techniques, we can
also diagnose and treat symptoms caused by
the complex forces that operate and control
your head, mouth, jaw and teeth. The head
and mouth are home to a myriad of nerves,
muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and bones,
which affect not only your teeth, but your
overall health and well-being.
orthodontics allow us a distinctive perspective
in treating our patients.
The forces created by these elements, when
not properly balanced, can result in serious
conditions that include: headaches and
migraines, chronic head, neck and face pain,
clenching, grinding, ringing or fullness in
the ears, broken teeth, popping of the jaw
and numerous other symptoms not typically
associated with dentistry. We are trained
and equipped with patented examination,
diagnostic and treatment technologies. We
will quickly and objectively measure the
dental forces which often lead to painful
symptoms. Proven methods identify issues
which can lead to painful symptoms.
You Should Know | What a difference
straight teeth can make! A great-looking smile
can boost your self-confidence and have a
positive impact on social and professional
opportunities. Orthodontic treatment is the
original smile makeover tool — and you will
be happy to know that you’re never too old to
take advantage of it. It’s not all about looks –
properly aligned teeth help you to bite, chew and
even speak more effectively. They are also easier
to clean, which helps keep your mouth free of
tooth decay and gum disease. The amazing
thing about orthodontics is that it harnesses the
body’s natural ability to remodel its own tissue.
With the application of light, constant force,
orthodontic appliances gently reshape bone and
move teeth into better positions.
Setting the Standard | We try to provide
the best quality care to every patient in
our practice. Our unique combination of
treating headaches, force imbalances, and

Best Advice Received | There’s more to dental health
than just teeth. Oral health care influences and provides
signs to the entire body’s health. As a dental physician, I
take a holistic approach by asking, “why is there disease?”
By answering this, I can treat the causes such as poor diet,
large tonsils, snoring or sleep apnea, small airways or poor
jaw alignment.
Philosophy | Your smile is only the beginning of the
treatment you will receive in our office.
Mission | Our patients appreciate the convenience of
having the whole family treated at one location and the
relationships they form with our entire health team.
Setting the Standard | We take time to sit and listen
to our patients’ goals for their oral health, address any
fears they may have, and discuss how we can help them.
As a health care team, we pride ourselves in extensive
continuing education in order to make our patients feel
comfortable and at home.
You Should Know | I love what I do! I’ve wanted to be
a dentist since I was five. I feel very privileged to be able to
provide orthodontics to my own kids (17-year-old twin boys)
and to yours. I get great pleasure every time I see my kids
smile. I enjoy providing that to other parents as well.

brand promise to guests of her restaurants throughout
North Texas. “We focus on quality, service, cleanliness
and value. We strive to be fast, accurate, friendly and want
to get it right. I love doing business with the McDonald’s

What Sets You Apart | Teamwork, synergy and systems
with a bulls eye focus on our employees and guests. Our
mission is to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Setting The Standard | Some of the best advice comes
from my own life’s experiences. Believe in yourself and
always try to see the best in others. With encouragement,
determination and passion, people will soar to new heights.
Challenges | As a business owner, mom, wife, daughter,
sister and friend—I have a very busy schedule. I can’t be
everywhere 24/7, so I surround myself with great people.

us is as good as all of us.” I believe in this and I also believe
in Karen’s ARCH Leadership model of four principles

High School Senior Clients Should Know
As all parents of teens know, looking
back in 20 years, this is one of the most
important times in their child’s life. Through
experience, both professional and personal,
I understand that deeply. My style when
photographing high school seniors comes

We miss him every day, but aspire to be the

Best Advice Received | We can all learn from one

Specialty | High-end residential real estate, relocating
buyers and sellers; referrals, and working with past clients.
What Sets You Apart | Personalized service—
customized to fit my clients’ needs. I’m personally involved
in every transaction from start to finish, which means my
clients are never “out there” by themselves. My tag line is,
“After all these years, I still answer my phone.” My clients
know I’m available either in person or by phone.
Best Advice Received | If you do the “little things”
well, the big things tend to take care of themselves. One
of my favorite quotes is from Little Women, “You will never
look finished if you are not careful about the little details
that make up the pleasing whole.” Bottom line, everything
matters…so take care of the details!
Challenges | One of my biggest challenges was April
2006 when I was diagnosed with a deadly form of breast
cancer. Nevertheless, I continued to work, teach my real
estate classes, and deliver my weekly Ladies Bible Class.
Even though circumstances may be tough, most still are
just temporary.
Your Inspiration | My son’s paternal grandmother,
who was smart, successful, and one of the first women in
Arkansas to sell real estate. She entered a “man’s world” in
the 1950’s and quickly rose to the top. She never went on
an appointment without a lady’s three necessities: White
gloves, a hat and a corset. No business-minded lady would
be seen in public without being “cinched-up.” Thank
goodness that was then!
Personal Mission | To do my job so well that people
can’t help telling others about me.

Charitable Work | Speak to raise money for cancer
research. I serve on the board of the American Cancer

Gaylord Texan is also the Official Hotel of

Best Advice Received | Our General
Manager, John Imaizumi, has a saying –
“Stay Humble, Stay Hungry.” It is a great
reminder to keep working to achieve more,
while also remaining thankful.
Challenges | Today, marketing tools and
technology change quickly. It requires effort
and education to keep up with the changing
trends, but also keeps our jobs fresh and fun.
Your Inspiration | My parents have been
my greatest inspiration. They both had
successful careers, but were able to balance

What Sets You Apart | In my experience, insurance
makes it difficult to build a well-rounded practice. That is
why Life’s Medicine is a fee for service practice. I can limit
the number of patients in order to spend the time each
patient needs. This allows the time to take into account
what the patient’s feel, what their lives are like and how they
take care of themselves.. These factors affect their overall
health. I want my patients to leave their appointment
excited, optimistic and hopeful about their future health.
I also give my personal email to my patients so they can
easily reach me.
Life’s Passion | Life’s Medicine was born out of a genuine
passion for helping people. I am a family practice physician
and have focused my medical practice on common endocrine
and medical conditions. The conditions themselves, as well
as the medicines used to treat them, can significantly reduce
the quality of life. Practicing medicine for 13 years has been
an extremely rewarding yet frustrating road. The frustration
came from having to deal with the third party payer (aka
insurance) and trying to do what is in the best interest of the
patient. We were not always on the same page.
You Should Know | This is not your conventional
medical practice. Life’s Medicine is not contracted with the
insurance companies, but can bill insurances for ancillary
services (labs). This gives Dr. Lopez the freedom to treat
patients with a holistic and integrated approach, basing
decisions not solely on lab results, numbers and formularies,
but on a myriad of factors. At the core of those is how the
patient actually feels. We are dedicated and committed to
helping patients reach their goals. We invest in patients so
they can invest in themselves and see ample returns. Living
a full and optimal life is good medicine, go get it!

[Tina Johnston]
Specialty | Licensed Psychotherapist specializing in helping
teens and adults find balance and fulfillment in both career
and life. “Where were you when I was young?” is a phrase I
hear often from parents. With over 70% of adults unhappy
in their jobs and 6 years as the average time for students to
graduate college, we need to give much more attention to the
preparation of our life’s goals and career development. High
school and preparing for college are very important, but the
years after college are equally important. Our services range
from mental health to personal development coaching for
teens and young people to career revitalization for adults to
personalized executive services.
What Sets You Apart | I hold several professional
certifications in career development, and have experience
in the fields of mental health, business, and education.
For 20 years I have helped teens and adults discover their
personal strengths, choose the right educational and career
directions, make positive life decisions, and recover from
bad choices. My passion is helping young people learn who
they are and launch their lives in a positive way.
Best Advice Received | Seek wisdom and love others.
Challenges | I’ve seen too many young people make poor
choices that can affect their entire lives—many of which
were preventable. Today’s teen culture surrounds students
with distractions and pressure that can erode self-esteem.
Things are very different today in school, college, and the
job market. It’s imperative that students be better prepared
for the future.

Specialty | As a personal life coach,
Melissa works with those who are facing or
considering life-changing choices. She helps
clients gain insights and confidence as they
work through anything from divorce recovery
to career change to figuring out what’s next.
Melissa focuses on helping clients “choose
happy,” which often starts with uncovering
what truly makes them happy and then
deciding what steps are needed to get there.
She listens to clients on a deep level, not
only to what they say, but how they say it,
and what’s not being said. She then asks
powerful questions to encourage a client to
discover the answers within themselves, gain
confidence and take action.
What Sets You Apart | Melissa is a
Certified Mindset for Success Coach who
works one-on-one with clients in her private
office or via telephone. She is also a sought-
after speaker and is frequently invited to serve
on panels and present as a guest speaker at
conferences on topics that include: divorce
recovery, choosing to be happy, empowerment,
life lessons, body image and more.
Best Advice Received | “Be yourself and
LIVE YOUR LIFE. Happiness comes from
within; count your blessings every day.”
Challenges | Melissa has faced many
challenges similar to those her clients face -from divorce to career change to health issues
and learning how to live life and choose happy.
Your Inspiration | Many different women
have inspired her and have encouraged her to
work hard and believe in herself.
Personal Mission | To encourage others to
live by the motto: Choose Happy! Happiness
is a choice.
Inspiration | Every teen I meet. They inspire me
with their talents, their ideas, their struggles, and their
apprehensions about the future. I see so much potential in
each of them, which fuels my desire to reach more young
people and help them be all they can be.
Setting the Standard | Always be honest,
treat others with respect and honor your
responsibilities (to yourself and others).
Personal Mission | Make a difference. We all have greatness in us, we just need to recognize and use it. Together, we
can make the world a better place.
Charitable Work | Melissa serves on the
board of InsideOut Girls, a Christian teen
girls organization.
You Should Know | Earlier in her career,
Melissa spent 15 years working as a family law
legal assistant. She worked with good people
during the worst time in their lives, full of emotions, and this propelled and inspired her to
become a life coach. She has always felt compelled to help others work through issues, gain
confidence and move forward in their lives.

Smart Bronze
Sunless Tanning
[Stacie Phineas Norvell]
Specialty | Smart Bronze Sunless Tanning
Salon has been touted as the most successful
spray tanning salon location in the US, and is
the go-to place in DFW for expert application
and knowledge of all things Sunless.
What Sets You Apart | Smart Bronze is
one of the most experienced spray tanning
salons in the United States. Our staff has
traveled all over the world training salons in
spray technique, marketing and the science
of sunless tanning. Not only are we experts
at hand-spraying sunless tans, but we have
extensive knowledge about the science
behind sunless. Smart Bronze is one of the
few sunless salons offering both hand-sprayed
tans, as well as the latest automatic spray
booth technology.
Setting the Standard | Since we began
our business 6 years ago, we have used only the
healthiest sunless products on the market––all
Norvell products. They are paraben, sulfate
and gluten free, in addition to being vegan.
Norvell uses only the highest quality organic
DHA (the active sunless ingredient). Our method
of using healthy and natural ingredients,
combined with a precise application technique
yields exceptional and natural looking tans.
Challenges | Many first time clients still
associate spray tanning as being orange, smelly,
or streaked. Once we convince someone to
experience Norvell products combined with an
application by one of our trained spray techs,
they are hooked!
Your Inspiration | My inspiration is my
husband, Rick Norvell. I attended a Norvell
University training two years ago when I met
Rick. His innovative way of thinking, extreme
dedication to customer service, and his desire
to create the highest quality sunless products
is truly inspiring to me as a business owner.
Personal Mission | Healthy skin tans the
best! Our system offers products that treat
the skin before, during and after a spraytanning sessions. Our products are also
loaded with ingredients that offer beneficial
skincare results.
You Should Know | Clients love our
products, and that Norvell “just off the
beach” color. We are trained in spray tan
colorology, and believe that a NATURAL,
healthy look is always the best. No two clients
have the same skin or skin color, and we strive
to give you a personalized, flawless spray tan
that compliments your natural skin tone and
preferences.

[Lorraine Haan-Stewart]
Specialty | Photographing pets—mainly dogs.
What Sets Her Apart | I am amazed at the humor of
animals and I try to capture that. Pets are an important
element in family life and I spend as much time as is
needed to make the whole photo sitting process a fun
one—both for the pet and owner. I will sometimes stage
the pet then incorporate the pets’ image into a fantasy
scene so that it is more of a digital art piece, but mainly
the images are taken whilst the pet is playing, sleeping or
getting into mischief !
Challenges | As with most women, it is a juggling act
when it comes to balancing work and family life. Although
photographs are not taken at my home it is where I do
my Photoshop and office ‘duties’ which brings with it the
inevitable problems of being interrupted and therefore losing
my momentum. Working from home, even if it’s only for
part of the day requires discipline and rules so that everyone
know where the work/home boundaries lie. Then again,
when my doggies come bounding in for a cuddle followed
by my husband armed with a hot cup of coffee and a slice
of cake I guess breaking the rules, once in a while, is just fine!
Her Inspiration | This may sound cheesy, but it’s my son,
Josh. He is forging his way in life and is unfailingly optimistic
and positive about his future—even when things have been
tough for him. He has a strength of character and maturity
far beyond his young age, but still maintains a gentleness and
genuine consideration for others which are qualities I admire.
Setting the Standard | All aspects of business are
important. From the moment of first meeting my clients, and
their furry friends, my focus is to ensure a high quality end
product that has been delivered in a timely fashion and at an
affordable rate. Their pet is unique and I want them to feel
that I will portray this in their pet’s photograph. I respect the
time and financial commitment that clients have invested in
this process and I want them to feel that they have made the
right decision in choosing me as their photographer.
Philosophy | “One act of love or kindness may not
change the course of history, but if it changes the course
of someone’s life it’s worth it.” That is how I feel about my
involvement with dog rescue. Helping an animal, even if
it’s only one at a time, is worth it.
Spiral Paws
Photography
Best Advice Received | From a photographer friend,
who passed away earlier this year, and who’s photography
style was very unique. “Always photograph, not with your
eye, but with your heart. Because it is these images that
will speak to the viewer.” And he was right.
Charitable Interests | The Boston Terrier Rescue of
North Texas is very dear to my heart. I foster for them and have
photographed all the dogs shown in their last two calendars.
You Should Know | I’m not from around here, I’m
a full blown Brit with a sense of humor to match! I have
lived in Keller for around seven years now and have
embraced Texas as my home.

Sunstone
Specialty | Sunstone’s specialties are yoga
and hot Pilates. Our signature Fire class is 98.6
degrees. All other classes are 90 degrees. Every
class is beginner friendly and offers students
an opportunity to release stress, detox, and
improve strength and flexibility at any level.
Metal is our hot Pilates class and a great
balance to our yoga classes. It gives our
students an even wider variety of classes
from which to choose. If you’re looking for
a way to sculpt your body and increase core
strength, this class is for you!
The Spark class is a perfect place for
beginners to start. It’s also a great class for
people returning to exercise after some time
off, recovering from injury or those just
wanting a restorative ‘rest’ day. The pace
of the class is slower but still full of detailed
instruction; both beginner and experienced
students benefit from this class.

|
What Sets You Apart | The quality of our
staff ! Surveys are sent to our students after
every class. We receive positive feedback on
the value of the membership, consistency,
variety and schedule of the classes. These
don’t compare to the satisfaction ratings based
on the quality of our teachers. That is truly
what sets us apart from other fitness facilities.
Another perk at Sunstone Southlake is our
schedule. We offer over 100 classes every
week! Classes are from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
(Monday-Friday) and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Saturday
and Sunday). The duration of classes is 30,
60 or 90 minutes in order to cater to our
students’ busy schedules.
Setting the Standard | At Sunstone,
our philosophy is to be consistent, observant,
grateful, kind and courteous. The combination
of our classes, schedule and teachers helps
students succeed in achieving their health goals.

We’re all brought together with a similar
goal of living a healthier lifestyle.
Our community of teachers and students is
unparalleled; there really is no other place
like it––we’re like one big family. Once you
step through the doors, you know you’ve
found the perfect place!

allows for questions and provides students
with detailed descriptions of classes, expectations and etiquette.
