By Lindsey Scallon The first week I was at We Will Go I cried myself to sleep every night. I kept repea ng over and over again, “I’m not strong enough.” I knew this was where God wanted me. I just couldn’t figure out why. I soon realized that I wasn’t here to just hand out snackbags and clothes.
I was here to learn to love like Jesus! See, I was a fake. A people pleaser who always wanted everyone to be happy, even if that meant wearing a fake smile and looking good on the outside. Being at WWGO this summer I’ve realized that loving someone doesn’t mean always making them happy and giving them everything they want. We are to love them as Jesus loves us. Jesus doesn’t give us everything we want when we want it, but He teaches us, giving us pa ence to wait for His perfect ming. I’ve had it all wrong. I was that girl who avoided the homeless. I never thought I’d be here calling someone like Mr. Robert my friend. .He is a neighbor who loves the garden here at WWGO, an old man with a scraggly beard and maybe one tooth. He drinks way too much and he smells. Only Jesus doesn’t see that. He sees a man full of joy who loves to dance. Jesus sees a man who will one day fall before His feet. It took awhile but
I now see it, too.
WWGO is restoring some houses, and one of them is named Power House, which was a brothel before WWGO bought it. As I walked through the house the Lord said, “Lindsey, just as these women were used in this house, this is you, the way you let everyone use you while never standing up for your faith. But just as I am restoring this house I want to restore you.
Most 20-year-old college students probably wouldn’t spend their summers this way. But it wasn’t my summer to spend on a beach or at the mall. My life is not my own, and Jesus is changing me to look like Him. the Lord forgave you,
so you must forgive others."

It was always PaPa’s habit to give every grandchild a dollar bill at the end
of a visit. When he died, my grandson, Logan, age 5, was brought to the
viewing. His mother rolled up a dollar and placed it in PaPa’s hand. When
Logan saw it, he asked, ”Mama, has PaPa got to pay to get in heaven?

Welcome to the first mee ng of the prime mers 2012 - 2013 year. We are glad you are here and are looking forward to lots of new experiences this year. We have new officers, new staff, a lot of new ideas and hopefully, a lot of new visitors and members. One of our goals for this year is get our younger members more involved. So if you are new to the Prime Timers, be thinking about what you would like to do and how you would like to be involved. If you have been a Prime Timer for a while remember to bring a guest. As we go forward this year, let's all be mindful of the Prime Timers mission statement, which is, “ The purpose of the Prime Timers group is to provide fellowship, ministry opportuni es, inspira on and recrea on for all members. “We are a very ac ve group and anyone age 55 and above is eligible for membership. Take a look at our list of mission opportuni es and ac vi es and see what we're all about. In His Service, Bill

God has an exact purpose for you. Paul calls it the “good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
First, we know His will through the written Word of God. Go to
the Word of God and find out what it says, then obey it.
The second way we know God’s will is through circumstances,
because He controls the circumstances in your life.
The third way is the peace of God in your heart. Isaiah said,
”You will keep him in perfect peace, who mind is stayed on
you” (IS 26:3. Do not go forward until you have the peace of God
that surpasses understanding.

The Speaker for October is our own Gregg Harper took the Oath of Office on January 5, 2011, to serve his second term in the U.S. House of
Representatives, after having been first elected to the House in November of 2008. Gregg has lived in Mississippi’s Third Congressional District since 1972 and currently resides in Pearl with his wife of 33 years, Sidney, and their two children, Livingston and Maggie. The Harpers are active members of Crossgates
Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi, where Gregg serves as a deacon.
Gregg serves on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and is a member of the Subcommittee on
Environment and the Economy and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade. Additionally, he has been appointed by Speaker John Boehner to serve his second term on the Committee on House
Administration, where he serves as chairman of the Subcommittee on Elections, and to the Committee on
Ethics. For the past two terms in Congress, his peers have elected him as their class’s representative on the Republican Steering Committee.
Prior to his swearing-in, Harper practiced law for 27 years, including serving as the prosecuting attorney
for the cities of Brandon and Richland, and also served on the Mississippi Oil and Gas Board. Gregg is active in his community as a member of both the Pearl and Rankin County Chambers of Commerce. A strong
advocate for our Second Amendment rights, he is a Life Member of the National Rifle Association.
The son of a former petroleum engineer and a mom who worked two days a week until she was 88 years
old, Gregg learned at a young age the value of hard work and the importance of a solid education. Gregg
and Sidney are both graduates of Mississippi College, where Gregg majored in Chemistry and then earned
his law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1981.
It is Gregg Harper’s desire to serve the State of Mississippi and our country with honor and integrity September 12

Each harbinger is a warning, a sign meant to bring our na on to repentance. Astoundingly, these 9 harbingers were revealed once before in ancient Israel, before the destruc on of Jeru-‐
salem. The book is comparing Israel to modern America. Some of the harbingers were the destruc on of the sycamore tree at Ground Zero and the significance of the loca on. I had no idea that George Washington had prayed for our na on, consecra ng it to God on the very spot! It's a moving, frightening tale, but for people of faith, 4 oz reduced-fat mixed berry yogurt
3/4 cup reduced-fat whipped topping
1 cup sliced ripe bananas
1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
1 cup fresh pineapple chucks
1 cup fresh blueberries
4 whole strawberries
In a small bowl, combine yogurt and whipped topping; set aside 4 teaspoons for topping. Spoon half the remaining yo-‐
gurt mixture into 4 glasses. Layer with half the banana slices, strawberry slices, pine-‐
apple and blueberries; repeat layers. Top each parfait with reserved yogurt mixture and a whole strawberry. Chill and serve. Yield: 4 servings
new insights. Walnuts are the health king of nuts!. The benefits come in small packages; seven whole walnuts equal an
ounce—an appropriate serving size. Don’t overdo it. And, no, chocolate-covered doesn’t count. They
have twice as many antioxidants as other nuts. There’s as much heart healthy omega-3 in walnuts as in
a piece of salmon. They may help improve memory. They bring a decreased risk of heart disease,
certain cancers, gallstones, and type 2 diabetes. They help decrease inflammation and triple the amount
of melatonin producing better sleep.

new insights.
