SECURITY/SAFETY TEAM OUTREACH
Thanks to the gracious giving by our
congregation supporting missions, our
Security/Safety Team provided every Universal
City Police Department (UCPD) Police Officer
with updated life-saving tourniquets, and a
fast-clotting combat “Israeli Bandage” kit. We
have developed a close relationship with many
of the officers who serve here on Sunday
mornings, and were thrilled to provide these
tools, proven to save lives while in use in the
war against terror.
On April 11, Brian Clayton, Walt Parsons, and
Jeremy Burgett from our Safety Team went to
UCPD and provided instruction on the correct
use of these tools. Jeremy, an Army combat
Medic, instructor at SAMMC, and medic on our
Safety Team, presented medical training while
Brian and Walt presented tactical information
on the extraction of wounded officers while
under fire.
Thank you, FBCUC, for allowing us to reach out
and strengthen relationships with these
officers and providing them with life-saving
tools!

We exist to glorify Jesus Christ by
cultivating a loving family that leads
its members to a life of heartfelt worship,
deepening discipleship, caring ministry
and personal evangelism.
First Baptist Church
Purpose Statement
 By Salvation and Baptism - For those who are
inviting Jesus into their lives and are beginning
an eternal relationship with Him, and wish to be
baptized as a symbol of their acceptance of
Jesus.
Individuals desiring church membership as
indicated above, are asked to attend a one-time
membership class. During this class you will have
the opportunity to hear Pastor David Lindow share
his heart about our church. To start the process,
you may respond to the invitation at the end of a
worship service, request a meeting with one of the
ministerial staff or simply sign up and attend a
membership class which are offered once a month.
See the Church Membership section above for the
date and time of the next available class and for
information on how to register.
It is great to be back. Our family can’t adequately express the appreciation
we feel for our incredible church family. Your expressions of love and
concern have been overwhelming. The cards, letters, flowers, meals, gifts
and prayers have made this time much more bearable. We still have a long
road to full recovery, but you have made it so much easier. I’ll say it again,
“Every pastor should be so blessed to get to pastor a church like First Baptist
of Universal City.”
Today is Father’s Day and we are honoring dads. I hope encouraging them is
one of man’s greatest endeavors. Dads, if you are like me, you started out
feeling pretty confident, but as the failures rack up the confidence goes
down. Most fathers don’t feel like successes but instead like failures. Well,
hear me, a father is not a failure until he is finished, till he quits, gives up,
cries “No Mas!” Get ready for a kick of encouragement.
Guests, thanks for joining with us today. We hope you sense the love and
presence of Jesus in this place. Please stop by the Welcome Center for a gift
of appreciation and more information about First Baptist.
 By Baptism - For those individuals who have
previously invited Jesus into their lives, but have
not yet been baptized by immersion and wish to
be baptized as a symbol of their acceptance of
Jesus.
 By Statement of Faith in Christ - For those
individuals who have invited Jesus into their
lives and have been “Biblically” baptized by
immersion, but are not presently members of a
Baptist church or are unable to secure a letter of
church membership.
Welcome to worship,
VBS was awesome this week. Hats off to our preschool and children’s
ministries. LuVon Wood and Darla Fletcher, you and your nearly 200
workers ROCK! I’m writing this on Tuesday and already we have had two
days with more than 600 in attendance. Wow!
HOW TO JOIN THE CHURCH
 By Transfer of Membership - For those
individuals who are members of another Baptist
church of like faith and belief.
