Welcome to my new Lipstick Mystic® Stars
Magazine!
Is it a report? Is it a mini-book? Or is it just a
mad ramble about our complex, infuriating, but
ultimately enlightening relationship with the
moon and the sun and the planets?
Whatever it is, it’s happening.
My intention with these magazines, which will
come out twelve times a year, is to help you to
understand some of the spiritual and emotional
energies that will be stirred up for every sign
during each one month time frame. Each issue
will come out just before the sun moves into a
new sign, or around the 20th of the month. This
month we have the sun moving into Cancer, along with the solstice time, at 1:04 a.m. on
June 21st. The sun stays in Cancer until 11:56 a.m. on July 22nd when it moves into Leo.
With each issue I’ll show you the potential trick spots, the likely GOOD times, and the
overall themes and issues that you might be dealing with during that period.
Along the way, I’ll give you a few warnings in the vein of “Don’t go there! There be dragons!”
to help you avoid problems. Plus I’ll be sharing some simple affirmations you can use to
access the positive energies of that time and bypass the negative influences.
My approach to astrology has always been one of being a celestial navigator who focuses on
enjoying her cosmic quest while trying to AVOID scary stuff like psychic black holes or
violent supernovas. Basically, I want you to be able to enjoy your tour through the stars and
get the most out of your journey. My personalized cosmic road map is designed to be both
practical AND fun.
I’m excited about this issue because we have a solstice time happening on June 21st (or
thereabouts – you might need to adjust to your local time). Each equinox and solstice marks
its own mini-spiritual “New Year,” when energies are shifting in major ways. These are great
times for making amends, making a wish come true, and making a fresh start.
For the three days leading up to each solstice or equinox period and the three days after, we
sit in the magical energy of that time. They are truly powerful periods because the ley lines
of the Earth are giving off heightened electromagnetic energy.
The indigenous or native peoples of the world have known about this for ages. That’s why
they always scheduled their celebrations during these times, because the equinox and
solstice times are the best times of the year for prayer, meditation, healing, and any type of
“magical” work. The subtle energies available to us during these times are much stronger
than at any other time.

I love the solstices and equinoxes because my dreams are more vivid and my psychic
perceptions are a lot sharper. As we move through the year, I’ll help you get the most out of
these times as I talk about them in different issues of this magazine.
Although I’m writing this magazine while living in the Northeast U.S., and I operate on
Eastern (New York) Standard Time, I’ll be giving you information you can use anywhere in
the world. So you won’t be left out if you live in the Southern Hemisphere!
For example, even though people living in the north are heading into the summer solstice
this week, those of you living in the Southern Hemisphere are preparing to experience your
winter solstice. I’ll give you some insights about what’s happening in your local area,
wherever you find yourself in the world. I’ll also talk about global energies that are affecting
ALL of us.
You’ll find that I’m not a terribly technical astrology gal. I won’t be putting you to sleep with
lots of complex astrology jargon. “Asteroid Vesta is exactly trine to your natal mid-heaven!”
Sounds painful, doesn’t it? Not to mention whatever unpleasantness might be happening
around Uranus.
Don’t worry. You won’t hear that boring type of “astrology insider lingo” here.
Instead, these reports are designed for EVERYBODY to enjoy, whether you just know your
sun sign or you’re already acutely aware of everything that’s going on in your birth chart.
If you know your rising sign (also called the ascendant), your sun sign, and your moon sign,

Oh, I should quickly mention a few other things. Some of you may know me from my
syndicated astrology columns that appear in various newspapers here in the U.S. or my
columns for the Chicago Tribune’s Redeye and The Mash newspapers. Those columns are
very much like little “fortune cookies” because my editors can’t give me any real space to
cover astrology themes in depth. It’s fun for me to reach people with those publications, but
it’s also frustrating because of how limited those publishing formats are.
Basically, if you’re longing for material that’s much more in depth, stuff that TRULY helps
you unlock the mysteries of the energies you’ll be moving through in a four week period,
you’re going to LOVE my magazines. They’ll provide a lot of detail for you.
