Simon Scott is no stranger to
the world of motorcycles.
Simon is the President and
Owner of Rage Hard Choppers,
Inc. He bought Big Bear
Choppers in 2011, and has
been running the show ever
since. After moving the
company down from Big Bear
Lake to San Bernardino
California, he immediately got
the company started on new
projects. Since then, Rage
Hard Choppers has launched
the newest Big Bear Chopper
series, The Redemption. 2013
will bring even more exciting
products from Rage Hard
Choppers, including an all new
motorcycle that is nothing like
you’ve ever seen before.

Small beginnings, big future
Kevin Alsop opens up repair shop behind Kawasaki dealer in Big Bear City. The repair shop specialized in
rebuilding Harley-Davidson motors.
1999
Big Bear American Made Choppers opens in Big Bear City, CA
Big Bear American Made Choppers is established. Operating out of a 600 sq. ft. store and builds custom
bikers per customer at rock bottom pricing.
2000
First Magazine Cover
Big Bear Choppers has its first magazine cover bike called “Grizzly” with “Easyrider” Magazine. The bike
was also included in “Easyriders Best Bikes of 2000” . Publicity grows from word of mouth and print
advertising. BBC moves to its second building on Eureka, Dr. in Big Bear City.
2001
Build Your Own Bike Kits
BBC obtains a manufacturing license to provide DMV registered motorcycles with full VIN numbers and
Kelly Blue Book listing. BBC attends it’s first Easyriders event, as well as other small events and bike
shows to expand its presence within the industry. Design work on BBC’s first custom Venom and Reaper
models begins.
2002
Introduction of Unassembled Motorcycles
Big Bear Choppers launches the Reaper and Venom models, and offers them as unassembled kits. This
would become a trademark business model for the brand. Customers could now buy their dream bike
completely unassembled and put it together themselves, cutting down on their out of pocket cost while
adding a personal touch to their BBC motorcycle. The saying “A chicken in every pot, a chopper in every
driveway”, was born.
2003
First Ride The Mountain
Big Bear Choppers holds its first Ride The Mountain, a one day, all out event to celebrate
the BBC motorcycle culture and brand. This would become a yearly event, drawing in
thousands of attendees and big acts like Uncle Kracker, Pauly D, the cast of Sons of
Anarchy, Vince Neil, the Fryed Brothers, Shooter Jennings and many more.
2003
BBC brings manufacturing in-house
Big Bear Choppers averages about 25 bikes a month, and a few custom builds as well. All manufacturing
of frames, tanks, fenders, and other parts are brought in-house for the first time. BBC also launches the
Reaper Chopper, and it gets featured in Easyriders magazine after winning Easyrider’s “Best Of Show”.
2004
Hot Bike and TV
The Merc, Sled and Devil’s Advocate series are released. PAB featured in Hot Bike magazine, an industry
leading magazine that BBC would appear on numerous times after. Big Bear Choppers is also featured in
numerous other online and print publications. BBC is also featured on Speed Channel, Travel Channel,
CMT, ESPN and Barnett’s Magazine.
2005
Introduction of Dealer Program
Big Bear Choppers launches its dealer program worldwide, providing unassembled kits and factory
assembled bikes for dealers in the USA, and all over the world. BBC wins the Community Award from the
California Highway Patrol from the custom BBC CHP Chopper.
2005
New Factory
Built and moved into a 30,000 sq. ft. headquarters for bike building, warehousing and manufacturing. All
BBC models meet the strict EPA/DOT requirements. BBC builds memorial chopper to honor fallen officers.
BBC is given a certificate of congressional recognition by congress and the California State Senate
Community Award.
2006
Biker Build Off and the Athena
The Authorized Dealer Program is a huge success and expands to 32 dealers worldwide. BBC competes
in and wins 1st place in the Discovery Channel Biker Build-Off competition with its new flagship model, the
Athena. The Screamin’ Demon was also released the same year.
2006
Shovelhead Tour
Also in 2006, Kevin Alsop along with a handful of other motorcycle manufacturers were handpicked to
participate in the S&S Shovelhead Tour, where Kevin built a custom bike around unveiling the new S&S
Shovelhead motor.

C.A.R.B. Emissions
Big Bear Choppers builds the first of what would become 9 custom bikes for Criss Angel. They are on
display at the Luxor Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. BBC also completes emissions testing with the
California Air & Resources Board, and the Sled Chopper 300 is featured in V-Twin’s “Best Bikes of 2006”.
2007
American Thunder
Big Bear Choppers is featured on the SPEED channel for their “American Thunder” series. Big Bear
Choppers would go on to be involved in 6 seasons of “American Thunder”. BBC gets featured on
Easyriders/V-Twin “Best Bikes of 2007”, a cover story on Big Twin and V-Twin Magazine.
2007
Dealer Progress and TV commercial
BBC continues to grow with 55 Authorized Dealers with an average sales of 58 dealer floored Ready-2Ride bikes and 15 kits per month. BBC debuts its signature national commercial TV spot. The Miss
Behavin’ is released.
2008
Harley Dealers sign with BBC
Kevin Alsop invited to participate in the S&S 50th Anniversary. First Harley-Davidson dealerships sign as
BBC dealers. Production and sales increase to 800 bikes for the year due to increased Authorized Dealer
Program, brand awareness, and a strong motorcycle portfolio. The Paradox and GTX models are
released. BBC also holds its Dealer Summit, inviting press and Authorized Dealers from around the world.
2008
S&S X-Wedge, Behind The Name
S&S handpicked Kevin and a few other custom motorcycle builders to be the first to build custom
motorcycles using the new S&S X-Wedge engine. The BBC X-Wedge was featured on the cover of V-Twin
magazine. BBC is featured on an episode of “Behind The Name” on WealthTV
2009
Introduction to the European Market
Big Bear Choppers is introduced into the European Market when Gooddrive AG begins importing BBC
motorcycles into Europe.

V-Twin Award and launch of the Paradox
BBC wins the V-Twin Excellence Award for custom bike with the Paradox, as well as the Custom Wheel
Award for the webbed design. BBC is also featured in the Hot Bike Buyer’s Guide, and is on the cover of
Custom Aussie Choppers.

Bear Bones Introduced
The Bear Bones is released. This would become one of the popular motorcycles in the BBC fleet. BBC’s
international exports are in full swing, and design special shipping racks to protect and hold our
motorcycles. BBC wins Business of the Year from the Inland Empire.
Rage Introduced, International Compliance
The Rage is released, and work begins on the Bear Bones. All 14 models receive European compliance.
BBC also received ADR compliance from the Australian Government to export motorcycles into Australia.

2010
California State Senate Award, Business of the Year
BBC receives a Certificate of Congressional Recognition and Community Service Award from the
California State Senate. Big Bear Choppers also receives a Certificate of Appreciation from Hope of
America Awards. The Inland Empire in Southern California names Big Bear Choppers “Business of the
Year”. Criss Angel is featured on the cover of DUB magazine, and it features the custom BBC skeleton
chopper.
BBC Moves to new location, welcomes Simon Scott to the BBC family
2011
Simon Scott, President of Rage Hard Choppers, Inc. begins manufacturing the Big Bear Choppers
motorcycles at the new facility in San Bernardino, California. Simon Scott and Kevin Alsop work to bring
new BBC models in 2012 and 2013. Work on the future Redemption series begins. BBC receives another
California State Senate recognition award. BBC was also featured in La Revue magazine.
2012
The Redemption
In 2012 Big Bear Choppers launched the Redemption series of motorcycles. The Redemption is featured
in EasyRiders and V-Twin magazine. Kevin Alsop and Simon Scott ride two Redemptions from cross
country from California to Sturgis, SD. Engineering and Design begin on a entirely new style of bike from
BBC looking to perfect the Harley-Davidson FXR concept.
The Titanium, Parts and Qatar
Big Bear Choppers attends Daytona Bike Week 2013 and launches the Titanium, a
whole new idea to the Big Bear Choppers philosophy. The bike is a runaway hit
from day one, winning Editor’s Choice from Hot Bike Magazine, getting a cover
story, and overall excitement from the industry. BBC also launches its first like of
Harley-Davidson parts for FXRs and Sportsters. Easyrider’s and V-Twin magazine
feature the Redemption motorcycle. RHC is pleased to introduce It’s newest
importer in Qatar, International Trading House, and is excited to announce the
October 2013 Grand Opening of their Big Bear Choppers showroom in “The Pearl”
Doha ,Qatar.
