Financial Summary
December 21, 2014
Weekly Collection
Weekly Budget
+/- for the week
$ 21,267.00
- $ 17,800.00
$ 3,467.00
The estimated weekly collection needed to maintain and operate
our parish buildings, ministries, programs and salaries is $17,800.
It takes a great deal of hard work, talent and time to make our Christmas here at Our Lady of
Lourdes such a beautiful and prayerful experience. In a special way, we should all thank the
following:

our Liturgical Ministers: priests, deacons, altar servers, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, sacristans
and ushers under the guidance of Robin Reynolds Brennan, our Coordinator of Worship. They
all helped to make our prayer come alive.

our Music Ministers: Michael Buonaspina, our Parish Organist, our Leaders of Song and all our
choirs: Adult Choir, Teen Choir and Youth Choir.

our “Art and Environment Committee” under the leadership of Jerry Esposito. A small army of
volunteers spent many hours, both in Advent and Christmas, creating a wonderful, prayerful
environment to help us render praise and thanks to God.

our Parishioners who gave so generously to our Giving Tree Gift Program. Under the leadership
of Trish Frodell, your generosity brightened the lives of many people, both young and old, and
highlighted the true meaning of Christmas: generous giving.

our Maintenance Staff for their “behind-the-scenes” work.

the Chapey Funeral Home and the Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home for their donation of the 2015
wall calendars.
Pastor’s Letter
THANK YOU FROM THE PASTOR!
I am most grateful to all those who constantly give of their time, talent and treasure each and every
week, indeed, each and every day here at Our Lady of Lourdes! Your witness and commitment
allows the parish family of Our Lady of Lourdes to come alive with God’s love.
I also encourage everyone to take this Christmas as a time to recommit yourself to Christ. If you are
faithful to coming to weekly Mass, keep up the good work! If you find yourself not being as faithful
to celebrating the Eucharist as you could be, come back to Christ and His family, the Church.
Welcome Christ into your own heart and your family’s heart through the weekly celebration of the
Eucharist. You’ll be glad you did!
Always remember: Together, we can do something beautiful for God!
In Christ,
Msgr. Brian
PS:
Don’t forget to go to the Parish Center and see a collection of Nativity sets. The Nativity
sets will be up until January 11 (Feast of the Baptism of the Lord) which marks the end of
the Christmas season.

Thank You!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the 2014 Catholic
Ministries Appeal (CMA). This year we had 572 individual families (with an aver age gift of
$156) who contributed to the annual Catholic Ministries Appeal. We had a significant increase in
donors this year from previous years. As you may know, when we reach 80% of our goal, our
parish receives a rebate. Due to your generosity, not only were we able to help the great work of
the Diocese, but our Parish will receive a rebate of $4,000.
Thank you again for all your generosity. I hope even more parishioners participate in the 2015
Catholic Ministries Appeal!

Dear Parishioners:
As you know, we recently presented the musical, ST. FRANCIS TELLS THE CHRISTMAS STORY . It
was a wonderful, moving show and everyone who experienced it loved it. An endeavor like this takes a
great deal of time and effort. I would like to thank all the cast and crew for all their hard work and effort
and to thank them for a wonderful gift that they gave to our Parish family. I especially would like to thank
PHIL AMBROSINO, our Dir ector and his “r ight hand women”: LILA SCHMITT, LAUREEN

Growing with the Gospel
Sharing the Gospel
Love God and trust him with your life.
Then you will want to do what God asks.
Simeon listened to God. Anna served
God for many years in the temple. Mary
and Joseph did everything God asked
them to do for Jesus. Everyone in the
temple knew that Jesus was sent by God
to be their Savior. They trusted God with
Jesus' precious life.
Mission for the Week
Jesus belonged to God. Look up the word "belong" in the
dictionary. Thank God that you are his child, too.
Prayer
God, help
me to love you
enough to do all
that you ask me to.
Something to
Draw
Draw a picture of God
watching over you
and your family.
