Protected with the SmartGuard® protection process,
LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding has the power of
engineered toughness and smart product design to
resist harsh climates, moisture, and insects. LP
SmartSide products are durable because they contain
exterior grade resins that create strong bonds, offering
greater impact resistance. The SmartGuard process
treats LP SmartSide products to the core with an
advanced formula of binders, waxes, and zinc borate
before being bonded with a water-resistant, resinsaturated overlay. This four-component process protects
against termites, fungal decay, and provides long-term
durability and strength against harsh weather.

At LP, it is a priority to consider the life-cycles
of the products we manufacture. The LP®
SmartSide® Trim & Siding manufacturing process
creates minimal waste by using 100% of the
log, and is engineered to help builders reduce
waste on the jobsite. LP also uses a SFI® forest
management and fiber sourcing system and
targets small, fast-growing trees that are more
quickly replenished than larger trees to ensure
that wood comes from well-managed forests.
From the most basic level, LP SmartSide
engineered wood products are made from
wood, an inherently renewable, natural resource.
Overall, LP SmartSide products may help earn
certification points in a number of leading green
building programs.

LP SmartSide Trim & Siding works and cuts much
like natural wood. Compared to fiber cement, LP
SmartSide products are lightweight, easy to carry and
don’t require special cutting tools or gear to protect
against airborne silica.
Most SmartSide products are available in lengths up
to 16' to help speed up installation, prevent waste,
and reduce the number of seams. Also, trim and siding
are available in a wide assortment of thicknesses and
widths, so there is no time or material wasted cutting
to sizes needed.
Each LP SmartSide product is pre-primed
for exceptional paint adhesion that saves
both time and money.
