Medtronic to Animas® Insulin Pump Switch Guide
“The OneTouch® Ping® meter-remote is amazing. When I’m playing
hockey and my blood sugars are high, I can quickly check, and bolus
right from the remote without having to take the pump out from under
my gear. It lets me get right back in the game!”

About this feature
Unique to Animas
In ezCarb and ezBG the final ‘Bolus Total’ screen suggests a bolus total. The bolus amount must then be manually entered. Manual entry allows you to review your final bolus
amount and confirm it. You may choose to adjust the amount depending on activity, such as the food you are eating. Talk to your healthcare professional for guidance in making bolus
adjustments.

When using ezCarb and ezBG with the OneTouch® Ping® meter-remote, your most recent BG result will be used automatically if it was taken within the last 15 minutes. After 15 minutes,
you will need to re-test BG or manually enter a BG reading. When using the ezCarb and ezBG features on your insulin pump, you will always enter your BG manually.

FAQs:
The Animas pump is waterproof, but can I really swim with it? Will it void my warranty if I have water damage?
Yes, you can leave it on for swimming! The OneTouch® Ping® is tested for immersion in water to a depth of 12 feet (3.6 meters) for 24 hours under normal swimming conditions.
If anything should happen to compromise the waterproof nature of your pump over the duration of your 4-year warranty*, and there has been no misuse or abuse, we replace it.
What options do I have for batteries?
The OneTouch® Ping® is designed to achieve optimum performance and battery life with an Energizer® Lithium L91 AA battery (1.5V). You also have the option to use a regular AA Alkaline
battery if needed (battery life will be significantly reduced). When changing your battery, you must go through the Rewind/Prime sequence. At this time, IOB will re-set to ‘0’ and any Combo
Boluses or Temp Basal Rates will be cancelled. (Tip: Change your battery before a site change and before a meal to make things easier.)
If I am planning a vacation outside of Canada, is there a fee for a travel loaner pump?
At Animas, we offer a free vacation loaner pump for travel outside of Canada. Call Animas Canada Customer Care for more details at 1-866-406-4844.
Setup. If you turned ON the Temp Basal sound, your pump
will beep once every 30 minutes to remind you of Temp Basal
status.
The Animas® pump automatically conducts more than
1.5 million redundant safety cross-checks per day.
Do Animas® insulin pumps have downloading capabilities?
Yes. There are software options available for both Mac and PC platforms. ezManager Max software allows you to create a customized food database for use with your pump, customize
and create alarm tunes, name your pump, name your basal programs, and more! Also now available for Animas insulin pump users is web-based software Diasend®. Diasend® is a
secure, web-based diabetes management system that allows you to store, review, and print your insulin pump and blood glucose data from the Diasend.com website. Animas® insulin
pump users can register for a free account online at www.Diasend.com/animas.
