This competency-based course prepares
students for the English-Language Arts
section of the California High School Exit
Exam. The course emphasizes
instruction in content specified in the
CAHSEE: Word Analysis, Reading
Comprehension, Literary Response and
Analysis, Writing Strategies, Writing
Conventions, Writing Applications, and
test-taking strategies.
Prerequisites:
Recommendation of counselor or outreach consultant.
Hours: 60
Note: The number 23-05-91 is used for reporting hours
students generate outside the classroom through the Distance
Learning program.
* This is a non-credit course and may be repeated to learn
specific competencies.
