2008 TOP TEN FINALS COMPETITION PROGRAM OF JUDGING
THURSDAY, JUNE 11 & FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2009
The Top Ten dogs in each breed were invited to compete in this year's Top Ten
Invitational, based on the points earned at shows during 2008. There are 470 dogs
entered in this competition, representing 134 breeds. Judges' names for the SemiFinal and Final rounds will not be disclosed prior to judging. Armbands are mailed
with this Judging Program and are the same armbands used for PREMIER. Winners
of each round MUST keep their armband to compete in the next round. These armbands will not be used for competition in any Specialty
Shows. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to have their dog ringside at the time of judging. The Judge will not wait for your presence.

All Star Competitions: UKC tallies Agility/Obedience/Weight Pull All Star points based on a dog's qualifying score/pull in agility/obedience trials and weight pulls throughout the previous calendar year. The All Star dogs in each event were invited to compete in this
year's Invitational, based on the points earned at UKC Licensed events during 2008. Armbands: Armbands are mailed with this
Judging program and are the same armbands used for PREMIER.
RING 15 (OUTDOOR, Covered 4-H Arena) – 2008
Weight Pull All Stars Competition

MANDATORY WEIGH-IN. 7:30 – 8:30 AM (Local Time.)
All dogs entered in the 2008 Weight Pull All Stars Invitational and
the 2008 Total Junior Weight Pull qualifiers MUST weigh-in
between 7:30-8:30 AM (local time) on 6/12/09, NO EXCEPTIONS.
A dog that fails to meet the weigh-in time will be marked absent.
HANDLER’S MEETING 8:30 AM (Local Time.) It is recommended that all weight pull handlers be present for the handler’s meeting for instructions as to how the weight pull will be
run. A dog that fails to meet the outline of the pull as presented at the handler’s meeting may be marked absent at the discretion of the Judge. The 2008 Total Junior Weight Pull qualifiers will exhibit with the 2008 Weight Pull All Star qualifiers,
but will be separated for placing purposes.
DOG REQUIRED TOO PULL WITH ITS RESPECTIVE WEIGHT
CLASS. All dogs assigned to a specific weight class must pull
together. No dog(s) will be allowed conflicts and be allowed to
pull at another time. No conflicts between the Weight Pull All Star
competition and any other activity will be accommodated. While
UKC does pride itself in encouraging Total Dog activities, we also
recognize the dedication it takes to rank a dog in a specific performance event, and respect a performance specific All Star competition, void of other activity conflicts. A dog not available to pull
at the time it is called will be marked absent by the Judge. The
Judge’s decision is final.

ATTENTION EXHIBITORS
COMBINED JUDGING PROGRAM
Each exhibitor entered in any of this weekend’s events will receive this combined Judging
Program. This envelope includes confirmation of each entry and a single armband for each dog
that is entered. This armband is assigned to that dog for all events hosted by the United Kennel
Club. If you lose your armband, report to the Superintendent’s table immediately for a replacement.
SCHEDULING CONFLICTS FOR DOGS COMPETING IN
MULTIPLE EVENTS
1. Exhibitors are responsible for being available for judging at the scheduled time.
2. Every possible effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors who have dogs entered
in multiple events, but Judges are not required to wait for dogs. Exhibitors are advised
to notify stewards in all rings affected by the conflict so that judges may more easily work
around any conflicts.
3. If an Agility, Dog Sport, Obedience or Weight Pull exhibitor misses a scheduled judging time, the judge has the discretion to allow that exhibitor to show at the end of the
class, or mark the dog absent. The judge’s decision is final.
CLASS CHANGE/CORRECTION OF ENTRY
1. Owners are responsible for the accuracy of information in the entry forms, regardless
of who may make such errors. Owners and exhibitors are responsible for correcting
any errors in their entry.
2. Dogs that, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a title
after the closing of entries, may be transferred from the entered class to another class for
which they are now eligible, provided that a request for transfer is made in writing to UKC
not later than one-half hour prior to the start of any regular judging at the show.
3. All other corrections to entries must be made in writing to UKC not later than one-half
hour prior to the start of any regular judging at the show.
GROUP AND BEST IN SHOW JUDGING
The order of Group Judging will be posted at the Superintendent’s table
no later than 2:30 PM each day.
Please note: Groups may start anytime the group breeds and judge are available.
TOTAL DOG AWARD
(offered Saturday, June 13, 2009 only).
CONFORMATION & PERFORMANCE NON-LICENSED CLASS
To be eligible for a “Total Dog” award a dog must:
1. On June 13, 2009, compete in conformation with competition and win one of
the following classes: Best Male/Female of Variety, Best Male/Female, Best of
Winners, Champion, Grand Champion, Best of Breed, Group 1 through 4
(Note: Group 4 win only counts if there are five or more breeds in the Group
class.), Best In Show,
or Reserve Best In Show; with special permission from the United Kennel Club the following addition to the existing Total Dog Rules regarding conformation competition requirements for the
Champion and Grand Champion classes shall apply solely on Saturday, June 13, 2009:
Champion Classes. The following will be granted a competition win:
Champion with competition win.
Reserve Champion win with 3 or more dogs in competition.

Champion Award of Merit (AOM) shall count toward competition win when computing a total
dog qualifier. The number of Champion Awards of Merit to be awarded shall be calculated as
follows:
5-9 dogs in competition – 1 CAOM
Grand Champion Classes. Grand Award of Merits (GAOM) shall count towards competition when
computing a total dog qualifier. The number of Grand Awards of Merit to be awarded shall be calculated as follows:
3-4 dogs in competition – 1 GAOM
and,
2. On the same day, earn a qualifying score in an agility trial, dog sport trial, obedience trial, terrier
race or a weight pull.
Dogs who meet the above requirements will automatically receive a special “Total Dog” award. A
parade of “Total Dog” award winners will be held on Sunday (June 14, 2009) in the Hazel Gray
Building in Rings 1 & 2. Consult the Judging Program for time.

to the stoplight (Business Loop I-94). Take a left onto Business Loop I-94 to the 2nd stoplight (Sprinkle Rd). take a right on Sprinkle Rd. Proceed to the 2nd stoplight and take a
right onto Cork St. Continue on Cork St. a few miles to Burdick St. Take a left on Burdick.
Emergency Vet is on the left-hand side of the road after turning onto Burdick.
NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
• All events are held under the Rules and Regulations of the United Kennel Club, Inc.
• Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be allowed on the grounds or in the buildings
on the day of a UKC® Licensed event.
• UKC, its agents, and its employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained
by spectators or by exhibitors and handlers, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no
responsibility for injury to children not under the control of their parents or guardians. UKC is not
responsible for loss, accidents or theft.
• Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused.
• Exhibitors and dog owners are expected and required to clean up after their own dogs. Any person
witnessing a violation of this rule must report it to the Event Committee. The Event Committee may
ask any person violating this rule to leave the event grounds. No refund will be made if an exhibitor
is asked to leave the grounds.
• Dogs may not be left in the buildings overnight.
• UKC encourages exhibitors to present their dogs with the least amount of grooming necessary to
enable a Judge to properly compare each dog with the standard of its breed. Dogs should be clean,
with nails cut to a length suitable for the dog to perform the work for which it was bred, and with
clean teeth. The Judge’s determination that this rule has been violated shall be final. UKC enforces
rules against artificially altering pigment and coat color, coat texture, and surgical alterations as outlined in the UKC® Rules and Regulations.
• Skateboards and rollerblades are allowed in the camping area only.
• Bicyclists please be mindful and courteous of fellow exhibits and dogs on the Event Grounds. Special
attention must be paid in traffic areas surrounding the event rings. No Bicycles are allowed in any

building. Failure to adhere may result in the expulsion of the Bicyclist from the Event Grounds.
• Please remember to turn off cell phones and/or pagers before entering rings.
• Private motorized scooters, golf carts and mopeds must carry appropriate insurance and must not
impede the flow of traffic at the event rings etc.
• No cones or other means to be used to save parking spaces in or about the parking lot or campgrounds.
• All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote or otherwise exploit the event are
vested in United Kennel Club and its assignees. All persons & animals on the event grounds at any
time while the shows are in progress do, by attending these shows, grant to the club the right to
photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness & voice in any manner
without further release or consent.

Coming from the North or South on 131 – Take exit 34 (I-94E, Detroit Exit). Go East on
I-94 to Exit 80 (Sprinkle Rd). Turn Left on Sprinkle Rd. and go to 3rd Stop Light (BL-94).

toll free at 800-888-0509 Please note that this is a busy weekend in Kalamazoo, so
please make your reservations early.
Note: UKC will vigorously support any hotel/motel who files a complaint with us about
exhibitors who fail to keep their dogs quiet or to clean up after them. In order that the
bad conduct of a few exhibitors does not spoil it for the majority of responsible exhibitors,
UKC will take strong disciplinary action against any offender.
OUR FACILITIES AND SERVICES:
• Conformation rings are inside on concrete and outsides on grass. Outside rings have
ample tenting. Agility and Obedience Rings are inside. Dog Sport Trials, Rally
Obedience and Terrier Racing are outside. Weight Pull is in a covered arena with a
concrete floor and crating is adjacent on a dirt floor.
• Food vendors and a variety of vendor booths will be present.
• Fairgrounds provides a dumping station.
• Showers and handicapped-accessible restrooms are available.
• Motels, restaurants, service stations and stores are conveniently located.
• The Hazel Gray building, agility, obedience and additional crating areas will be locked
between 10:30 pm and 7:00 am each day.
• Overnight security is not be provided.
• The Kalamazoo County Convention and Visitors Bureau will have an information display in the Hazel Gray Building.
Fairground rules.
• Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the fairgrounds.
• Smoking is prohibited in all public buildings and designated areas.
• Powdering is prohibited in all public buildings.

• Electrical cords may not cross driveways, by order of the Fire Marshall.
• Tampering with barriers and signs is prohibited.
• Persons violating these rules may be subject to disciplinary action.
Unloading information.
• The show grounds will be available after 7:00 AM on Thursday, June 11, 2009. The
campgrounds may be available earlier at the Event Committee's discretion.
• Please follow the directions of the parking attendants to facilitate an orderly traffic flow
through the unloading areas and in the parking areas. Vehicles are allowed a 15 minute
unloading time-frame. Violators will be towed.
• Unloading hours:
Thursday, 6/11/09 .........................7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday, 6/12/09 ..............................7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday, 6/13/09 ..........................7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday, 6/14/09 ............................7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Please read these rules before you set up inside.
• Limited conformation crating in the Hazel Gray building, Agility area (room E) and the
Obedience area (Room A.) Additional crating available in Room B.
• Empty grooming space may not be saved. First come, first served is the rule.
• No rugs or ground cover mats are allowed on the floor.
• No private exercise pens inside. There is ample room for private ex-pens outside.
• To ensure that we use our inside space efficiently, exhibitors shall be required to stack
their crates when crating in the Hazel Gray Building.
• For the comfort and safety of our exhibitors, NO chalking is allowed in any building.
• Dogs may not be left unattended when crated in soft mesh crates. No dog may be left
in an unlatched or unzippered crate.
• For conformation, small ring side tables and crate are only allowed at ringside during
the judging of a single breed. The event committee may order these tables and crates
to be removed at their discretion. Please do not abuse this privilege.
Admission fee. Exhibitors Only - No admission or parking fee. An exhibitor parking
pass is included in this Judging Program. Be sure to have it visible in the front of your
vehicle. Persons bringing their children to the show shall be responsible for their supervision and conduct.
• Spectators - $5 per car or $10 for a weekend pass.
Parking information, SLOW in driveway.
• "No Parking" signs must be observed. Violators will be towed.
• General parking in the campground area is prohibited.
Camping information.
• Pre-register and save money! Pre-registered RV parking and camping for all sites is $25 per
night. Deadline for pre-registration is May 29, 2009 at 4:30 pm (Eastern Time.)
Registrations received after the deadline or at the event will be $30 per night.
• There is ample parking for RV's and other camping vehicles. First come, first served is
the rule.
• 50 sites are available with sufficient amperage to accommodate large RV units. Please do
not overload the circuits. RV units with generators must park in the designated area. The
use of A/C may be restricted in some of the general camping areas where the amperage
cannot support the use. No generators may operate in the general camping area.
• No coneing or other means to be used to save parking spaces in or about the campgrounds. One (tow) vehicle is permitted to park per camping space; additional vehicles must park in the general parking lot.
• Dogs must be on leash at all times unless in an exercise pen.

• Camping area will be patrolled, but it must be distinctly understood that the presence
of this patrol is a courtesy to exhibitors.
• Empty RV parking/camping space may not be saved. First come, first served is the rule.
• No generators may operate in the general camping area.
• The fairgrounds provides dumpsters for trash. Do not leave bags of trash on the ground.
• Fairgrounds provides a dumping station.
General camping etiquette is expected from all campers at all time.
Catalog information.
• Pre-ordered catalogs (deadline was May 15, 2009) may be picked up at the UKC publications booth inside the Hazel Gray building starting Friday, June 12, 2009.
• A limited number of catalogs will be available for purchase at the event for $13.
All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote or otherwise exploit the
event are vested in United Kennel Club and its assignees. All persons & animals on the
show grounds at any time while the shows are in progress do, by attending these shows,
grant to the clubs the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use
their likeness & voice in any manner without further release or consent.
