The Society Islands
Huahine
T
he Society Islands, so named by Captain Cook for their proximity to each
other, are without doubt the most renowned group of islands in French
Polynesia. The island group comprises 10 mountainous islands and five atolls,
and boasts a barrier reef with open passes and a picturesque lagoon that
protects the precious beauty within.

Tahiti
Tahiti
This well-known island remains a “Jewel in the Pacific” to visit. As the administrative capital of French Polynesia, Tahiti has managed to maintain it’s breathtaking vistas and is not consumed by high rise buildings; and the true heart of
the city is the marketplace, through which most of the island’s products
pass, including produce and crafts. Outside, the local transportation, “Le
Truck”, the open-air wood-paneled buses, gather to start or finish journeys
in Papeete. Visitors should spend at least two nights on the main island to
visit the cultural and artistic museums of Tahiti, as well as see “Les Roulottes,”
a fleet of colorfully painted food vans that draw up at the waterfront at dusk
and serve diverse international cuisines, but are most notable for their variety
of crepes.
Bora Bora
Not much time is needed to tour around the island of Bora Bora; the island
is only 6 miles long and 2 miles wide. Surrounding the small island is the most stunning lagoon in the entire Pacific. It’s colors, which vary from pale turquoise to deep
cobalt, are created by the water’s varying depths. Almost every water sport is available on the island, though undoubtedly the most popular are snorkeling and the shark
feeding tours. Staying in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora, and having breakfast
delivered to your deck by outrigger canoe, is a unique experience that can’t be
matched outside of French Polynesia.
Moorea
Just 10 miles from Tahiti, Moorea can be reached by a short 10-minute flight or by
ferry. Moorea, similar to the other Society Islands, offers three dramatically different
worlds; the lagoon and its reef, the coastal flatlands, and the mountainous interior.
At the very heart of the island is Point Belvedere with fantastic panoramic views of
the coastline and two dramatic Bays, Opunohu and Cooks.
Bora Bora
Taha’a
Taha’a, slightly smaller and less populated than Raiatea, shares a wonderful lagoon rich in sea life and water sports activities such as scuba diving, windsurfing, and outrigger canoeing. The surrounding waters of both islands are also known the world over for their legendary sailing, yachting, and sport fishing opportunities. Taha’a's nickname is the "Vanilla Island" — because of its constant rich aroma of vanilla. In fact, the island
boasts a full 80% of all Tahiti's vanilla production. Both islands are also inundated with Pearl Farms legendary for their superb quality, high aesthetic
appeal, and value.
Huahine
A shallow body of water, which is low enough during low tide to cross by foot, separates Huahine Iti from Huahine Nui. Excavation sites on the island
have revealed traces of the oldest settlements to be found so far in the South Pacific. As the number of resorts on the island remains limited, the
island inhabitants have not been overwhelmed with tourism, and the island, with its interesting monuments, retains its charm and peace.

few miles west of Rangiroa, Tikehau, meaning peaceful landing, is an almost
perfectly shaped ring. Its fish-filled pass and lagoon allows many of the island’s
residents to live solely off fishing. Most of the residents live in the main town of
Tuharahera, where there are fruit trees everywhere, from mangos to avocados. The real
draws of Tikehau are the beaches and the incredible snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities. The island offers miles of beautiful beaches, sparkling turquoise water, and a
peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

from scuba diving and snorkeling, is a visit to a black pearl farm. This oyster species, which
is common in Polynesia, produces a dark pearl which varies from pale to dark gray with
touches of pink or green. There is just one resort on the atoll, providing a perfect opportunity to enjoy a relaxed vacation with an introduction to the local people.

Bora Bora Cruises offers a unique, modern and innovative private yacht experience
in the South Pacific. Boutique cruising aboard custom-built and designed
cruise-yachts is a new market niche unique to Bora Bora Cruises.
Attention to detail, levels of exclusive comfort, a relaxed and
intimate ambiance all combine with the natural beauty
Moorea
of the cruising grounds and many available options
to create an unparalleled vacation experience.
Tahiti
The Vessels
The names Tu Moana and Ti’a Moana are drawn
from a Polynesian dialect of the native Tahitian
language meaning ‘to answer the purpose of the
sea.’ Large enough to offer space, privacy and all
the comforts one would expect of a larger ship,
yet small enough to offer guests the feeling of private yacht freedom, personal attention, and
access to lagoons and other areas where the big
ships just can't visit.
Cabin Accommodation
There are just 35 cabins on each cruise yacht in
3 different layouts on three decks. Average cabin
size is 15.6 square meters. The cabin design
offers a feeling of space through the use of glasssurround bathroom and large pictorial windows.
Dining
Every morning a continental and full a la carte
breakfast service is offered. For people preferring
a more leisurely morning, the continental breakfast is available until almost lunchtime. The
leisurely lunch a la carte offering is served from
noon, and is followed by mid-afternoon tea and
refreshments. Each evening the chefs prepare a
selection of a la carte gourmet treats heightened
with local flavors.
Optional Excursions
Bora Bora Cruises’ unique experiences are supplemented by a range of optional excursions.
These include the ubiquitous shark feeding and
ray encounter; island tours, four-wheel drive
safaris; outrigger canoe tours; bicycle rides;
champagne picnics; on board massages and
beauty treatments; wave-runner excursions;
game-fishing; and, of course, scuba diving.

rchipels offers a 7 Day cruise through the Leeward Islands, from Bora Bora
to Huahine or vice versa, departing weekly. The Leeward Islands are high
volcanic islands quite close to each other and surrounded by turquoise-blue
lagoons. Bora Bora is definitely the most famous of them, on account of its
magnificent lagoon. However the other islands are every bit as engaging as Bora
Bora with their diversity, beauty and most of all their inhabitants whose friendliness is legendary. Also offered are 4 and 3 day cruises inside Rangiroa’s atoll.
Built in France, these large 17.5-meter sailboats are ideally suited to the waters of French
Polynesia. In addition to their sea keeping qualities, stability and shallow draft, they are
designed as small, luxurious floating hotels with a maximum capacity of eight passengers.
A large panoramic, well-ventilated communal area includes a dining area, lounge, bar and
navigation area. Four self-contained, air-conditioned passenger cabins with bathroom are
designed for eight passengers. The warm feeling created by the woodwork and leatherwork adds to the pleasure of being aboard. On the deck, enjoy 130 square meters of useful surface – a large outside dining area, two large ‘trampoline/sunbathing’ areas at the
front of the boat complete with deck cushions and mattresses, and each catamaran has
a hull with transom steps for easy access into and out of the water.

Activities
Dining
Cruising is truly the way to discover the islands,
with a wide range of land and nautical activities
to offer including: 4X4 excursions around the
island of Taha’a, kayak or dinghy rides, fishing
or snorkeling in the lagoons, observing manta
rays, sharks and other lagoon fish, and visits to
local island villages. Depending on your tastes
or desires, your leisure activities will be organized by your crew. You may like to swim in the
company of rays, kayak ride to a deserted
motu or discover the most attractive coral
areas as though you were in a giant aquarium.
On returning from a 4x4 land excursion, a
long drink served by your skipper will surely
be most enjoyable at this magical time when
the sun sets the lagoon ablaze.
With a maximum of 8 guests, the atmosphere is casually relaxed. Dining may be
offered on deck, sheltered from the sun,

Diving French Polynesia
There are 118 islands and atolls in the vast area known as French
Polynesia, and 11 that have diving centers: the most popular
being Bora Bora, Moorea, Rangiroa and Manihi. In Tahiti, you
can choose from a variety of dive sites, including:
The Lagoons ~ the lagoons are often fairly shallow and are excellent
for beginners. Rangiroa's calm lagoon is world-famous for its abundance
and variety of marine life.
Ocean Drop-Offs ~ Some of the most spectacular dive-scapes are
where the vertical reefs spill into the deep ocean. Bora Bora is renowned for
it’s diverse dive sites, with swim-throughs and wall diving readily available.
Passes ~ In the passes you will find manta rays and schools of sharks.
These locations are for more experienced divers, as the currents can often
be strong. The best shark and stingray diving locations are in Moorea, and
spectacular drift diving is available at Manihi, where you can also visit the
working pearl farm to learn about the black pearls.
