The tradition of the Foundation is an inheritance
from Islam as a present to mankind. Which, our
ancestors have maintained as a gift through serving
our religion and nation by these foundations.
As the sequel of this goodness, on 13th of March
1975 Turkiye Diyanet Foundation was initiated to
continue the righteous deed.
Thanks to our noble-hearted people, the efforts
of our foundation coupled with the aid of the
generous contributors and the Foundation
managed to present our religious services to
a larger crowd of people. This was succeeded
through educating the generation so they can
continue providing services. Today, this is possible
all across the world. Seeds that were planted
years ago are now giving off their fruits and this
foundation has become a big civil organization
which works all over the globe.
Since the beginning, the Foundation has been
honoured by the firm reliance of our people, with
all their projects, a gift from our holy religion to
mankind and is carried to the most perfect level
by our ancestors on this very day.
The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation has 1000

EDUCATION IS OUR PRIORITY
From the day that The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation was found, it aimes to
train specialists that understand our deep-rooted heritage of civilization,
worries about the ummahs worries and has high self-esteem.
Our Foundation manages projects and facilitates, education opportunities in Turkey for students
by providing scholarship to successful students, student dormitories for higher education,
student guest houses and has opened a college and a university. Our foundation forms a
bridge between the hearts of nations providing educations in Turkey to students from 108
countries such as the International imam hatip high school, International divinity program and
the International guest student program.
With the opportunities provided by our Foundation, an important gap is closed. This foundation
continues to strive hard on the path of education by keeping education as its priority.

FROM PRIMARY SCHOOL TO UNIVERSITY
FROM A MASTERS DEGREE TO A DOCTOR’S DEGREE
Aimed to train specialists that understood our deep-rooted heritage of
civilization, worries about the ummahs worries and has high self-esteem.
The Bornova College opened in the academic year 1994 and remains to educate 1.252 students
in primary, secondary and High school.
Istanbul, the city where different religions, cultures and people have been living together for
hundreds of years, the meeting point for civilizations, houses the Istanbul 29 Mayıs University.
The university, founded by The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation is planned to become an International
Islamic University, has a total of 1,193 students in their bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degrees.
Located in the city center, Istanbul 29 Mayıs University presents a qualitative education on an
international level and a broad vision on the world with its strong academic staff.

STUDENT DORMS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS
We facilitate student dorms which provide the comfort of family life
so that you can send your children with a warm heart.
We continue to provide a peaceful and clean environment for the young in higher education.
We have opened a dormitory to help them build their own knowledge, faith and art.
Our Foundation has 14 higher education student dorms in 11 cities. The student capacity was
1.500 in 2011 and has reached 4.954 in 2015.

STUDENT GUEST HOUSES
To raise the bar for success of our students we open student guest
houses in provinces where we do not yet have dorms. These guest
houses are safe, healthy and modern which are under the supervision
of our branches and guidance of our chaplains.
Our chaplains take care of students in the guest houses and support them both financially and
spiritually. All the possible needs of a student during his education at university are available in
our homes.
We have a total of 210 student guest houses in 30 different cities within Turkey facilitating for
1.404 students.

OUR EDUCATIONAL COORDINATOR SHIP
In order to manage our educational projects coordinately, we have
opened a total of eight coordinator ships in seven different cities; two
in Istanbul, one in Ankara, Konya, Kayseri, Samsun and Bursa.
The educational coordinator ships have meeting, book-reading and recreation rooms, all
contributing to the personal development of our students.
As well as offering support and ilmihal (a concise manual of Islamic faith, worship and ethics)
lessons, our coordinator ships organize seminars, conferences and social activities in which all
our students can benefit from.

WE ARE IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
Because of our collaboration, 64 Religious High school buildings owned by our Foundation are
reserved for use by the ministry of public education.

EDUCATIONAL CAMPS
Together with our Ministry of public education and directorate of
religious education we organize educational camps for students of the
religious high school.
With these educational camps we intend to let the students of the religious high schools and
the Quran courses develop themselves by doing academic, professional, sportive social and
cultural activities. Furthermore, these camps will strengthen the unity and solidarity between
the students, form an historical and cultural awareness, ensure their leading capabilities and
make them individuals with universal norms and values.

QURAN COURSE PROJECT FOR MEMORISING THE QURAN
Students, who will be an example to everyone, specialized in their fields and will contribute with
their knowledge of the Quran to the value of the staff of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, are
being educated by our Foundation and they receive a scholarship for an 8 month period with
our “Quran course project for memorizing the Quran”.

SCHOLARSHIP AND EDUCATION ASSISTANCE
We have assisted over 240.000 students with 56 million 645 thousand TL
worth of scholarships.
We give scholarship to students in different fields of studies because we see them as a guarantee
for our future.
Considering the senitivity of the citizens who donate to our Foundation, we have increased the
number of students that we give scholarships to in the recent years.
The scholarships for the assistance of students have been standardized since 2011.
We gave a total of 23 thousand 982 students’ scholarship and educational assistance in the
educational years 2015-2016.

I’M AWARE AND I’M WITH YOU
We have started project “I’m aware and I’m with you” in collaboration
with our Ministry of public education in order to help and aid the
children of the Syrian refugees, who fled Syria because of a civil war.
17 Schools in Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa and Ankara, appointed by the ministry of public education
provide education to 12 thousand 978 children.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAMS
Until the year 2010, our Foundation gave students from 30 different countries
the opportunity to study in Turkey. Since then, the Foundation has diversified
its programs for international students.
Till this date, 2,404 students from 108 countries are given education by means
of our foundation at religious high schools, universities, masters and PhD’s.

INTERNATIONAL RELIGIOUS STUDENT PROGRAM
With the International religious student program we provide students
from abroad the opportunity to study in Turkey at high school.
The cooperation protocol signed by The Turkiye Diyanet Foundation and the Ministry of the
public education makes it possible to provide education to students from 97 different countries.
1,036 students receive education in the International Asian religious high school in Kayseri,
Konya and Istanbul through the International religious student program.
198 students from Somalia are studying in religious high schools, health, agricultural and marine
business high schools.
Currently 986 students have graduated from the International Mustafa Germirli religious
high school (Kayseri), the International Mevlana Asian religious high school (Konya) and the
International Fatih Sultan Mehmet Asian religious high school (Istanbul).

INTERNATIONAL GUEST STUDENT PROGRAM
Our International guest student program provides educational
opportunities in Turkey for students from abroad.
1.368 students from across the world attend the faculties of Divinity on Bachelor’s, Master’s and
Doctor’s degree.
So far, 870 students have graduated from this program.
Until today, a total of 1.856 students, 986 from the International Asian religious high schools
and 870 from Faculties of Divinity have graduated and have taken up important tasks in their
home countries.

INTERNATIONAL THEOLOGY PROGRAMI (UIP)
In order to satisfy the needs of religious education for the Muslims in
general and the Turkish families in particular – who live in Europe, Australia
and America – we started the International Theology Program in 2006.
In a total of six faculties of Divinity across Turkey and with cooperation of our Presidency of Religious
Affairs, we give students who finished their High schools in their respective countries from across the
world the opportunity to study in Turkey.
695 students from different countries are given their basic needs and a scholarship by our Foundation.
We have provided education on the faculties of Divinity to 1.070 students up until this day. The
graduated students form the answer to the needs of their communities in their respective countries.

A total of 18 educational institutions (11 High Schools and 7 Faculties of Divinity) are maintained
by our Foundation and 3.635 students continue to receive education from these institutions.

These graduated students contribute to the academic, religious and cultural level of their

316 MILYON LIRA OF HUMANITARIAN AID IN THE LAST 5 YEARS
Our foundations assure that the trusts of our generous donators are given
to the needy through our charitable and social activities, both in Turkey
and abroad.
We aim to aid regions– from all over the world, regardless of their religion, race and ethnicity – which
suffer from droughts, wars, crises and disasters with continues projects which will aid in the recovery
of that region.
The Religious Foundation of Turkey has ensured that a total of 316 million TL between the years
2010-2015 reached the needy, both in Turkey as abroad, in the form of humanitarian aid.

RAMADAN PROGRAM
The Foundation of our people gives the donations and the alms (zakat)
to the needy, in Turkey and abroad, during the month of Ramadan.
Regions which suffer and are deprived gain life packages and feel the joy of the meals in
Ramadan so that we live with our millions of Muslim brothers together in unity.
In the month of Ramadan 2015, we provided “Tables of Goodness” in 68 different countries and
400 different regions. 1 million 506 thousand TL in Turkey and 2 million Dollar were spent abroad
on these table with the life packages. Thereby, up to 1 million people received their warm meals
in the month of Ramadan.

SHOPPING CARD
As the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, we provide monetary aid along
with our life packages to the needy during Ramadan in particular and
different times in general.
Within this scope, we have made an arrangement with the big supermarket chains in Turkey to
let the poor and the needy buy their daily and primary needs from these markets by means of
a special shopping card, distributed by our Foundation.
Through our Foundation and its branches, we have given a total of 57.330 shopping cards, each
worth 25 TL, to the needy persons and families in the month of Ramadan in 2015 alone. This
adds to a total of more than 1 million 433 thousand TL in a single month.

QURBAN PROGRAM
Special Qurban programs are organized in collaboration with our
Presidency of Religious Affairs. These programs are in accordance with
the religious prerequisites and under trust and care of our staff.
180 thousand and 35 generous persons have given their parts of the Qurban to the Foundation of
our people in 2015.
A part of these Qurbans are given to the needy in 195 cities of our cities and the other part is sent
abroad to 104 different countries and 469 different regions by our voluntary teams.
From the Balkans to Palestine, from the Caucasus to Africa, from Asia to Latin America and the Far
East, the trust of our nation’s people is brought to all corners of the world.
Since the start of the Qurban program in 1993 up until the year 2014, a total of 866 thousand 955
parts of Qurban has been given to the needy.

HUMANITARIAN HELP
The Religious foundation of Turkey sends primary resources needed
for life along with voluntary workers to areas which have been struck
by wars, crises, earthquakes, floods, droughts and all kinds of disasters.
Our Foundation hastens towards the help of countries with natural
disasters and crises such as Afghanistan, Arakan, Bos nia, Chad,
Philippines, Haiti, Iraq, Cameroon, Mali, Central African Republic,
Pakistan, Somalia and Syria in an attempt to ease and comfort them
from their pains and losses.
SYRIA
We hurried to the aid of our Syrian brothers and sisters who were left
vulnerable as a result of the political crisis and civil war which began in 2011.
We developed many projects ranging from education to health to relieve the pain and develop
solutions for the problems of our Syrian brothers and sisters who have lived with us in the same
geography for centuries and are taking refuge in our country.
With the aid campaign we initiated for the Syrians, we collected a total of 13.5 million TL of
donations. In conjunction with our other branches, we transported hundreds of truckloads of
humanitarian aid materials to the refugees living in the camps in Turkey and Syria.
We cooperated with the Department for Education and began educational projects for the
Syrian refugee children. In this context, 12, 978 Syrian students are receiving education in
17 schools located in Ankara, Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa with the entirety of the expenses being
covered by our foundation.

TIME TO HELP THE TURKMENS
We initiated the “Now is the time to help Turkmen” campaign for
the Turkmens who are living under difficult conditions post the civil
war in Syria.
As a foundation, we are rushing to help aid our Turkmen brothers and sisters who are the victims
of political crisis and civil war. We are sharing their grief as we continue to meet their needs in a
number of areas such as shelter, nourishment, health.

PALESTINE / GAZA
Our foundation which is not extraneous to the events lived on the occupied
territories of Palestine, has been beside the Palestinian people at every stage.
From 2008 up until today we have sent monetary and humanitarian aid worth 34.8 million TL.
Following the Israeli attacks in 2014, we started campaigning for food and shelter aid. Along
side transporting four big generators to the region to lower the cost of fuel to be used in power
outages in the hospitals.
We initiated a project to rebuild mosques in Gaza that had been demolished due to Israeli
attacks. We laid the foundations of 9 mosques in December 2015 for the Muslims living under
the restrictions in Gaza and have been yearning for. We have allocated a fund of 4 million
357 dollars for this project.

RAKHINE STATE
We raised 12.5 million TL with the ‘Now is the time to help the Rakhine
State’ campaign and transferred it in the form of humanitarian aid supplies
to the Rohingya people seeking refuge in the camps in Bangladesh.
We did not neglect the calls for help by the Rohingyan Muslims in Mynamar who were forced
to leave their land and sought refuge in neighbouring countries after being persecuted by
Buddhists in 2012.
Furthermore, we did not neglect the Rohingyan Muslim children that have been driven from
their lands under educational and cultural services, and have been given the status of refugees.
109 students are continuing their studies with the support of our foundation with 10 in the
International Islamic University of Malaysia, 68 in Bangladesh International Chittagong Islamic
University, and 31 in International Religious High Schools in Istanbul, Konya and Kayseri in Turkey.

SOMALIA
We have helped Somalia, a country burdened with hardship due to civil war
and crisis for over 25 years till present. From humanitarian aid to education,
refurbishment and furnishing of mosques to opening water wells.
We have raised 77.1 million TL in the aid campaign initiated for Somalia. 1.640 tonnes of
humanitarian aid and 15.000 copies of the holy Qur’an were handed out. We took care of the
vulnerable ones at the disabled centre and provided needs for the hospitals and orphanages.
We also opened the Sheikh Sufi Religious High School.
We supported Mogadishu University and acquired 700 students to this country through educating
them in Sheikh Sufi Religious High School and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Schools. Currently we are
providing training for 198 students in our country in various fields.
We restored and reopened Masjid Abdülaziz (Ottoman) in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, for
worship. Which was a mosque, built by the Sahaba (companions of the prophet (S.A.W)) but
over time had been demolished. Restoration and refurbishment of the Mogadishu Central
Mosque was also completed.

IRAQ
We did not abandon the people of Iraq who have suffered greatly due
to their country being occupied and under conflict.
We provided aid of clothing and nourishment to the Turkmen people living in difficult
circumstances in the province of Kerkuk in Iraq.
We did not neglect the children that were affected the most by war, crisis and natural disasters.
We handed out clothes to the orphans and homeless for Eid. In the city of Kerkuk, Iraq, we
opened a mobile library for primary and high school students.
We transported food aid, clothing and humanitarian aid to the Turkmen families seeking refuge,
coming from villages such as Ramadi, Felluce, Selahaddin, Tuzhurmatu and Besir.

HAITI
We did not forget the 1.5 million people who began living in tent
camps after the earthquake that struck in 2010.
We raised 7.3 million TL of aid for the campaign we instigated to help resolve the humanitarian
crisis being experienced in the country. We too transported humanitarian aid to the needy
regions.
We opened, Children of Hope a school with a capacity of 400 students to serve the population
as well as continuing the construction of a mosque.

AFRICAN COUNTRIES
During 2011 -2015, for the victims of hunger and violence from Chad, Ethiopia,
Kenya, Eritrea, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and the Republic of Central Africa
we sent 69.3 million TL worth of humanitarian aid in resources.
MALI
After the humanitarian crisis experienced in 2012 we raised 19.5 million TL in donations. We
aided the Mali population by means of sustenance and health in purchasing necessities such as
rice, sugar, wheat and milk powder. We also opened a mosque for worship in the city of Bamako.
THE REPUBLIC OF CENTRAL AFRICA
We distributed food to thousands of families affected by the political crisis experienced in the Republic
of Central Africa. We conveyed humanitarian aid to the area experiencing conflict through Chad.
CHAD
We sent humanitarian aid with our teams to the refugees who were struggling with difficult
living conditions after taking refuge in Chad due to the conflict being endured in Central Africa.

BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA
Our foundation which rushed to aid the Muslim Bosnians, that
encountered a great massacre in the Bosnian war in the middle of
Europe, today is continuing to support the Evlad-ı Fatihan.
Every year in the month of Ramadan and during Eid al-Adha, we send relief to those in need.
We restored and refurbished the heirloom of our ancestors, the mosques and madrasahs in the
cities of Tuzla Travnik, Visoko and Zenica which were conquered in 1463 by Fatih Sultan Mehmet
and remained under the Ottoman rule for more than 400 years.
We raised 14.5 million TL to Bosnia Herzegovina for the thousands of people affected by the
disaster of flood caused by excessive rainfall in the region.

AFGHANISTAN
We hurried to aid the people of Afghanistan who were victims to years
of war, civil conflict and political turmoil.
Our foundation is restoring the the mosques that have been destroyed during war and is
providing scholarship to students. And is also delivering assistance to the needy in various
regions in Afghanistan.
We transferred 1.1 million TL worth of humanitarian aid supplies to needy families who were
disadvantaged in the flood disaster by sending our team to the region.
We also sent humanitarian aid worth of 4.5 million TL to Afghanistan between 2010 and 2015.

We were side by side with the Pakistani nationals whom we are in a
close friendship with in their difficult times.
Following the flood disaster which affected more than 20 million people we conveyed 8 million
TL worth of relief collected under the scope of ‘Pakistan Zakah Distribution Program” to the
people of Pakistan in the form of ‘Family Food Packs’ and ‘Family Kitchen Sets’
For children requiring education in Pakistan’s city of Abbotabad we built a school with
12 classrooms in 2006.

PHILIPPINES
We initiated ‘Now is the time to help the Philippines’ campaign to heal
the wounds of the victims of the Haiyan Typhoon which caused the
death and disappearance of more than 10 thousand people.
As part of the campaign we raised 14.7 million TL. Within this scope we offered relief in the form
of emergency necessity items, food and shelter.
After the Hagupit Typhoon which took place in December 2014 our relief teams conveyed
454 thousand TL to the region.
The Mabini and DSWD mosques as well as the madrasah Qur’an and the Mindanao
reconstruction agency which we had initiated were completed and began to offer their
services. The construction of the Philippines Tacloban Mosque is still continuing.

In Africa and Asia where the population Is Muslim dominated, a drop of
water means life. We began the water wells project to give a droplet of
life to people who are suffering water crisis due to financial difficulty.
The shortage and contamination of water supplies which are vital for living can be a serious
threat to human life. Around to one thousand children in the world die as a result of diseases
attributable to water and drought every day.
With the water well project we want to liven the unproductive soils and cracked lips. Help us

CENTRE FOR ISLAMIC RESEARCH (ISAM)
Sustaining its academic research with a focus on Islamic studies in particular,
ISAM contributes to Islamic research with its work that encompasses the
Middle East, Central Asia, the Balkans and North Africa.
Established in 1983, ISAM continues to cultivate prominent researchers and scholars, offer its
services with its library and documentation centre, organise panels, conferences and symposiums,
conduct research in the area of Islamic studies and gain publications with religion and cultural
based content to the community.
Furthermore, the prominent academics ISAM has cultivated in different areas to today,
domestically and internationally are continuing their academic works in various universities.

TURKIYE DIYANET FOUNDATION ISLAMIC ENCYCLOPAEDIA
The Islamic Encyclopaedia which carries the characteristic of being a
significant resource of 44 volumes was seen worthy of the President’s
Culture and Art Award.
The Islamic Encyclopaedia, which is the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation Centre for Islamic Research’s
(ISAM) most important work, was meticulously prepared in the course of 25 years with
2 thousand authors and a strong editing committee.
This rare work which is a contribution to the Islamic World and offers services in a digital
environment has been established by scanning through 500 primary sources and consists of
16,855 items.

By making decisions with regards to written, vocal and visual broadcast
materials in accordance with our foundation’s broadcasting policy, this
commission prepares the yearly plan and program of the books that
are going to be published.
ILKSAY has conducted meetings with regards to science, culture, art, education, and engaged in
conferences, seminars, panel discussions, competitions, research and other meetings analogous
to the afore mentioned. The “Topical Hadith Project”, “The Elders of Religion” series, “The Anatolian
People’s Classics” series, and lastly “The Moral Classics” series are some of the significant projects
of ILKSAY.
“Topical Tafsir Project” has started to help people understand the Quran and has reached out
to people from all around.

We initiated the “My Present is Qur’an” project alongside the Presidency
of Religious Affairs so that all around the world there will not be a
home nor a heart that is left with the absence of a Qur’an.
“No one on earth should feel the absence of the Holy Qur’an”
We distribute editions of the holy Qur’an’s which include the translations through donations given
by sponsors within Turkey. The Qur’an’s are then nationally and internationally sent to geographies
that do not have access to the Holy Qur’an and are given to individuals and establishments that
seek them but do not have the financial power to purchase them.
Written in a script that can be easily read by all, copies of the Holy Qur’an along with its
translations prepared in 10 different languages, are handed out to those in need in prisons,
hospitals, religious high schools, theology faculties, higher education student dormitories, towns
and district libraries, public agencies, and libraries nationally and to the Balkans, Central Asian
Countries, Caucasus, Africa, Latin America, Southern Asia, Non-governmental organisations in the
Middle Eastern Countries and via religious administrations internationally.

BOOK FAIR AND PUBLICATION ACTIVITIES
We bring together readers with the approximately 600 published, vocal
and illustrated products and the 15 thousand varieties of books distributed
by their 150 publishing firms in our 28 publishing houses nationwide.
Since 1983 the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation organises an annual Turkish Book and Culture Fair in
Istanbul and Ankara during the month of Ramadhan with the aim of bringing together readers,
writers and publishers.
The Turkish Book and Culture Fairs which are organised in the spiritual atmosphere of the
month of Ramadan and is anticipated with great interest by our community.

Systematic works are being conducted by the Centre for Women,
Family and Youth (KAGEM) in order to bring together science, thought,

KAGEM is running activities intended to strengthen the institution that is family whilst organising
seminars, conferences, panels, workshops and scientific meetings.
KAGEM which is continuing its efforts to become an organisational structure to offer its services
throughout the country has given education to 3,500 trainees in various fields during the

FOSTER HOME CARE PROJECT
We unite children with no place to go to warm family environments
as a part of the Foster Home Care collaboration protocol which we
signed with the Ministry of Family and Social Politics.
We support the implementation of Foster Home Care and invite you to open your home to
orphans.
Under the Family Project, KAGEM has published a book to reveal the approach of the fostering
of the orphans of our religion. They have also organised and arranged panels, and various
meetings that discuss the awareness of Foster Family Projects all around Turkey.

Since 1989 a week of events under “Birth of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh)”
has been organised. With the aim of delivering the holy message which
has enlightened all of humanity to all sections of society.

all of humanity is being explained from youth to the elderly, in activities organised nationally and

for Islam to be understood with its actual identity and for the Muslims
