If you are the purchaser, you will be handed a buyer’s slip. Please fill out all the information
required and select if it will go to resale or be processed. If processed, choose one from the
list provided. Purchasers will receive a Buyer’s Display Card that you can display in
your business.
If you or your organization wants to participate, but choose not to eat the meat, there
is a resale option. You can resell it at market price through our buy-back program.
Your actual cost will be the difference between the purchase price and market price.

LAMB
When you arrive at the auction, pick up a sale order guide which lists all the animals,
their weights, and owners. As each animal enters the ring, the auctioneer asks for bids.
All bids are in cents per pound. When you wish to bid, raise your hand. The animal is
sold to the highest bidder. If you need assistance, there are official Auction Committee
members willing to help. Whether you buy or not, your participation helps the young
livestock owners learn valuable life skills.
STEER
When you purchase an animal at the Junior Livestock Auction, you are buying more
than a prize-winning animal raised by 4-H and FFA members. You are establishing
yourself as a partner in helping young people in our community develop essential skills
and attitudes. Being responsible, taking care of financial obligations and learning how
to manage their own business operations only scratches the surface of the educational
benefits. Your purchase also earns you the merit of contributing to one of the largest
scholarship programs available to youth in the county. 95% of 4-H & FFA members
saved a significant portion of the funds generated from the sale of their animal for
college. Your support is needed to reward members for their efforts in producing
the highest quality, locally grown food.
