Summer REALTOR® Safety
Yes, it is in the middle of summer and we are all
busy, busy, busy with life, family, vacations, and, of
course, our favorite, WORK. But as busy as we all
are, let us not forget Safety. Not only meeting new clients and
our new protocol for meeting those we do not know, but also,
let’s remember the heat. Carry an ice chest with water, stay
hydrated, and if out showing land/farms, please wear
appropriate clothing, shoes and hat; and be armed with bug
spray. The heat can take a toll on one very fast, be prepared
and know the signs of someone getting too hot.

Current Call for Action
H.R. 3700 was passed by the U.S. House 427-0. Despite passing with NO
OBJECTIONS, the U.S. Senate has not acted on H.R. 3700. If you haven’t
already voiced your opinion the link to participate and help ARA reach their
participation goal is: https://realtorparty.realtoractioncenter.com/site/Advocacy?

This legislation provides significant benefits to taxpayers, homebuyers and the
real estate market by:
 Removing a burdensome and expensive FHA Condo approval process
 Reducing FHA restrictions on the number of condos available to
homebuyers
 Permanently streamlining Rural Housing Service loan processing
Current FHA condo lending rules restrict the number of condos available to
FHA home buyers, thus limiting the often most affordable, appropriate choice
for many families,” NAR states in a release about the bill. “Changes to the
processing of rural housing loans will improve access for deserving families,
and reforms to federally assisted housing programs will ease burdens for
landlords and improve access for residents.”

DIRECTOR NOMINATION FORM
Name of Nominee___________________________________________________________________
Company Name_____________________________________________________________________
Business Address____________________________________________________________________
City________________________________________State___________Zip______________________
Telephone (Office)_________________Cell_________________E-Mail_________________________
Signature of Nominee______________________________________Today’s Date________________
I have read the Recommended Criteria below and wish to place my name in nomination for service on the
Board of Directors.
_______I am currently a director and wish to serve as an officer.
Director Recommended Criteria - Members of the Board of Directors are expected to represent the entire
membership. Each Director is unique and contributes special talents. Therefore, Directors must express
their viewpoints and share their opinions. Constructive criticism can be important to the Association’s
growth and development. Directors should consider the needs and feelings of others, and face the issues
and facts. A lot of importance is attached to their remarks made on, and off, the record. Directors should
remember that discretion protects credibility and discourages rumors, gossip, and criticism. Directors
must be familiar with antitrust laws, professional standards, and Association bylaws.
Additionally, Directors must be active members. Their attendance at Association functions facilitates a
steady flow of communication with membership. Directors may also serve as liaisons between various
committees or divisions of committees. Because of these added responsibilities, Board of Directors’
meetings can become lengthy.
Association bylaws state that absence from 25% of regular meetings (3) shall be construed as resignation.
No excused absences.
