Distant... Self-serving... These are the snapshots that describe John Redgrave (Kent C. Williamson). But that’s before his wife (Melissa Dawn Bryant) dies and leaves him alone to raise their three-year-old daughter (Savannah Grace). Emotionally devastated, John attempts to pick up the pieces of his shattered life as his overzealous father (Bill Williamson) rushes him to find a mother for his little girl. He could fall for Annelise Machiavelli (Maggie Jones), the aspiring artist he’s hired as a baby-sitter, but his lingering grief continues to make him hesitant and uncertain about committing to a new relationship. Though Annelise stands ready to teach him that even tragedy can open the door to new opportunity, self-doubt, selfish ambition, and a crazy potential mother-in-law (Terri Moore) always seem to get in the way. Grief may conquer him... Fear may ruin him... But everything changes... When Love Walks In The Plot Told through the eyes of three-year-old Sierra Redgrave, the story of When Love Walks In is one of family tragedy, struggle, and eventual restoration. Tension and unrest describe the marriage of Sierra’s parents, John and Linda Redgrave, as John’s apathy and self-interest distance him as a husband and father. John’s world is shaken, however, when a tragic accident claims Linda’s life and leaves him to raise Sierra alone with only the help of his aging father, Art Redgrave. Having experienced his own grief through his wife’s losing-battle with cancer, Art encourages John to move past the sorrow to begin rebuilding a life for himself and his daughter. In the midst of urging John to move on, Art finds himself rushing into a new stage of life—a budding relationship with a slightly neurotic woman named Nora Machievelli. As Art falls deeper into love, John falls deeper into depression, unable to loosen his grip on the grief and guilt that surround Linda’s death. As a result, Art and Nora begin their plot to unite John with Nora’s daughter, Anna, an aspiring actress who is also the prime candidate to fill the position of Sierra’s babysitter. Reluctant to begin another relationship, John wavers in his interest for Anna, fighting what ultimately becomes an increasingly complicated attraction to her. On the journey toward personal redemption, John Redgrave finds himself in an unpredictable narrative of family and friends, where the grief that could drive them apart may prove to be the very tie that binds them together... 3 The Buzz FESTIVAL AWARDS Best Dramatic Feature - The Brothers Williamson Festival Director’s Award - Savannah Grace The Indie Gathering 2005 Best Clean Flick - The Brothers Williamson Best Actress - Terri Moore Best Soundtrack Best Marketing Bare Bones International Independent Film Festival 2005 Feature Drama Telly Award 2005 FESTIVAL AWARD NOMINATIONS Best First Feature - The Brothers Williamson Best Actor - Kent C. WILLIAMSON (John Redgrave) As president of Paladin Pictures, Kent C. Williamson is accustomed to multi-tasking in the media industry. In addition to writing, producing, and playing the lead in When Love Walks In, Kent has also made appearances in projects such as John Grisham’s Mickey, directed by Hugh Wilson and starring Harry Connick, Jr., as well as Legacy, the UPN television series. He’s near completion on the documentary Rebellion of Thought, which takes a critical look at faith in a post-modern world, and is making steps toward his next feature motion picture. Kent lives with his bride of 13 years and their Suburban full of peanut butter covered children along the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. NOMINATED: Best Ensemble Cast - Bare Bones International Film Festival 2005 5 The Cast (Continued) BILL WILLIAMSON (Art Redgrave) One year after his work on When Love Walks In, Bill Williamson underwent a major heart transplant operation. Soon after that procedure, he was back on his feet again playing a principle role in the Irish play The Cripple of Innishman. Now, fully recovered and feeling better than ever, he has been in three plays, done voice-over work on a horror film, written a screenplay, taken up golf again, and is currently playing Ben Franklin in a production of 1776. Despite popular opinion, Bill is no relation to The Brothers Williamson. NOMINATED: Best Ensemble Cast - Bare Bones International Film Festival 2005 TERRI MOORE (Nora Machiavelli) Terri Moore has lived in Richmond, Virginia for all of her 41 years. She has spent more than 30 of those years doing theater in and around the area, with theater credits including Charlotte Hay in Moon Over Buffalo, Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, and just this past summer, she had the unique honor of bringing the character of Fatiguee Fourbu to life in the Richmond premiere of La Vie Ennui. When Love Walks In was her first film credit, but she hopes to add many more to her resume. WILLIAMSON BRAD WILLIAMSON Brad Williamson and Kent C. Williamson comprise the duo known as The Brothers Williamson. Born and raised on the border of Mexico, they both grew up eating jalapeños and seeing the world through the lens of the camera. Their first collaboration resulted in the feature motion picture When Love Walks In, “a believable, tender love story” that has audiences laughing, crying and saying things like “I really couldn’t stop smiling. It was touching and real.” Kent plays the film’s lead, but keep your eye out for Brad’s cameo as the ex-con. The Brothers Williamson are also nearing completion on the challenging and thought-provoking documentary Rebellion of Thought, a critical look at faith in a post-modern world. Brad lives with his wife and four kids on the shores of Lake Michigan while Kent dwells along the Blue Ridge Mountains with his bride and five. The soundtrack is available in its entirety on the film’s DVD or separately on CD. TOY O’FERRALL With her thoughtful lyrics and folksy style, Toy O’Ferrall writes and performs beautiful music with a “down home” feel--but she doesn’t always do it alone. Teaming-up with Abigail Harris (the niece of country music star Emmylou Harris), Toy has found the perfect partner to compliment her unique style. Toy and Abigail met in Charlottesville, Virginia and first played at a variety of gatherings from kickball tournaments to pancake breakfasts. Currently, Abigail teaches Spanish and sings in Nashville, Tennessee while Toy studies poetry and performs in Greensboro, North Carolina. Walk Slow, Dream Deep - recorded exclusively for the When Love Walks In Soundtrack TERRI ALLARD Terri Allard has an extraordinary talent for capturing the human spirit in her songs, and with power-packed vocals and infectious energy she has the uncanny ability of moving her audiences to pin-drop silence. The Virginia based singer-songwriter has taken her rootsy blend of folk, country, and acoustic pop to countless clubs, coffeehouses and festivals throughout the U.S. She has performed on popular festival stages around the country and has also received nominations for seven WAMMIES (Washington Area Music Association Awards), winning Best Female Country Vocalist in 1999. Good, Good Love - from the album Terri Allard Dance Again - from the album Rough Lines I Don’t Want To Know - from the album Loose Change and Spare Parts STONE KITCHEN Based out of Richmond, Virginia, the five-man band Stone Kitchen is known for its attractive melodies and lyrical storytelling. Though the band members began with little formal training, they steadily progressed from casual apartment jam-sessions to regular public appearances at some notable venues, earning a following of loyal fans in the process. With increasingly sophisticated instrumentation and an interesting style, Stone Kitchen is a band that’s sure to catch your attention and hold-on to it for a while. You’re Not Alone and The Pickup - from the album Morning Noon Night 19 The Soundtrack (Continued) MESSENGER The theme song When Love Walks In was written by singer/songwriter David Hicks specifically for the film. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Messenger is made up of Hicks, Dan Ficklin (Keyboards/ Guitar), and Bill Jeffords (Drums). The trio met in church while playiing with another band, then branched off to form Messenger. Dave’s written poetry since grade school. Dan’s been a studio musician for many top artists including B.J. Thomas. Bill played drums for his church’s youth band, his high school marching band, and various club bands around Richmond. When Love Walks In - recorded exclusively for the When Love Walks In Soundtrack ELYSIAN SKIES With a little attention to detail, listeners will be quick to discover that the Los Angeles-based Elysian Skies is a modern rock band with plenty of substance. Beneath the aggressive sound of acoustic guitar-driven ballads, lead-singer Keith Giles offers lyrics that fuse Biblical truth with modern-day trials--a feat accomplished so genuinely and poetically that its result is refreshingly far from Christian cliché. And though the band has yet to receive nationwide notoriety, Elysian Skies has succeeded in gaining much positive support from some well-respected players in the music industry. What Can Never Be Replaced, Broken, and Tacit Blue - from the album Exquisite Whisper CARBON LEAF Established as the hottest act on the Virginia college circuit, the band Carbon Leaf has come a long way from merely playing local bars and fraternity parties. Along with the accomplishment of six successful albums, the Virginia-based quintet has also enjoyed such accolades as appearing before eighty million viewers at the American Music Awards, receiving the first ever Coca-Cola New Music Award, and touring with headliners John Mayer, Counting Crows, David Gray, and the Dave Matthews Band. With continued success, Carbon Leaf seems to be on a steady climb toward national notoriety. Home and Blue Ridge Laughing - from the album Ether-Electrified Porch Music STEPHAN PROCK Stephan Prock is a Lecturer in Music and Director of the New Music Ensemble at The University of Virginia where he teaches courses in film music and twentieth-century American popular music. He has taught at The University of Richmond and The College of William and Mary and received his doctorate from Cornell University where he studied with Steven Stucky and Karel Husa. In March 2002 he was selected to take part in the first annual Minnesota Orchestra Reading Sessions and Composer Institute for emerging composers headed by composer Aaron Jay Kernis. In Dreams, Linda’s Death (Hymn), First Sight, Linda’s Theme, Field of Ashes, Chasing Anna, and Anna’s Theme - recorded exclusively for the When Love Walks In Soundtrack 20 The Credits A FILM BY THE BROTHERS WILLIAMSON John Redgrave Annelise Machiavelli Art Redgrave Nora Machiavelli Sierra Redgrave Linda Marie Redgrave Written and Produced by Directed by Story by Director of Photography Music Composed by Artwork by Additional Music by KENT C.
