Welcome to the first edition of the Little Blue Book. This directory is
exclusively for companies that have been endorsed by Alton Convent
School parents. Thank you for your recommendations.
Whether for your business, your home, your friends and family or yourself
– there is something inside for all. Many of the businesses have provided
special offers expressly for you in the Little Blue Book.
All of the funds raised in creating the book have been donated to the
Anniversary Appeal, and have contributed to the instalment of our new
food technology laboratory. The food laboratory is already in use, with
pupils busy creating culinary delights!
As our appeal continues, with the help of parents, friends and supporters
we would like to upgrade the science laboratories and provide lighting for
the sports courts.

Alton Runners
For All Abilities
At Alton Runners we welcome runners of all abilities with different levels of programmes,
which are chosen to suit you. Come along and try a session or two.
Training sessions are on a Tuesday and Thursday evening starting from 6:45pm and lasting
1 – 2 hours (including warm up). We meet inside the Sports Centre in the winter and on
Jubilee Playing Fields in the summer.
We run a 10 week course for beginners. More details can be found on our website.
We organise 2 local running events, the Alton TEN, a 10 mile road race, and the multi-terrain
Downland Challenge a 10k (15yrs +) and 5k (10yrs +) event held on 6th October this year at
Anstey Park. Profits from both races are distributed to local charities.
We are only able to take 16’s and over. We have a Welfare Officer and follow UK Athletics
Welfare Policy for 16 to 18 year olds.
