ReSound Relief™ app
With the ReSound Relief™ app, people with tinnitus can add a massive
variety of sounds into their sound therapy. These include environmental sounds, music guided relaxation
exercises and any sound they choose to import into their device.
A multisensory personal sound player, ReSound Relief enables users to integrate auditory, visual and
tactile stimuli into personalized soundscapes to help distract them from focusing on their tinnitus. Each
soundscape can be assigned a name, mood colour, and turned into a unique mix of up to five sounds with
the onboard sound mixer. The ReSound Relief app also offers tips and support for tinnitus counselling.
RESOUND RELIEF APP
HOME SCREEN
The large bubbles
represent soundscapes
and the smaller empty
bubbles can be popped

exercise.
RESOUND RELIEF APP
SOUND MIXER
The volume of each sound
can be adjusted with
the sliders. This enables
the user to create and
personalize dynamic
soundscapes.
The app records usage so that your clients can see which sounds they use the most. And, because the majority of people
with tinnitus also have some degree of hearing loss, ReSound Smart Hearing aids make it possible to stream sounds from
the app and combine them with amplification for an optimal solution.
People with tinnitus but without hearing loss can simply use the app with a set of headphones.
The ReSound Relief app is available as a free download on both the App Store and Google Play. For more information visit

If an Earmould is not the optimal solution for your client, and you are looking at fitting an Receiver-In-Ear device
or an open fit Behind-The-Ear device with thin tubes, an alternative for Earmoulds are domes.
There are different domes available for different types of receivers and thin tubes.

FAQ
RE-TUBING
The first task is to remove the old tubing. If you are lucky, it comes out easily when you pull on it. But, if the tube is stuck in
place, hold the end with a pair of pliers and twist it around and around as you pull on it. The twisting action breaks the glue
bond and most tubes will pull free.
Follow illustrations below to insert new tubing.
1
Cut an edge off the tubing.
2
5
Fit the mould and position the hearing aid
behind the ear to find the right length for the
tubing.
Insert the tubing into the mould.
3
6
Cut the right length.
Align the bend of the tubing with the
mould until it fits neatly.
7
Attach the tubing and mould to the
hearing aid.
4
Cut away the excess tubing.

Improvements to responses for SureFit receivers
DID YOU KNOW
•
•
•
There is a difference in the output of our new SureFit receivers when compared to previous receivers
The new SureFit receivers give a stronger frequency response in the higher frequencies – see examples below
The change in output has been designed to help achieve a better match to targets and provide clients with a clearer
and crisper sound quality

ADJUSTING SUREFIT RECEIVERS TO IMITATE PREVIOUS RECEIVER OUTPUT LEVELS
There may be instances where you prefer to better match the output levels of previous receivers (for example, if a client has
been wearing Verso or LiNX products), in these cases you can use the table below to manually adjust the gain settings.

A LiNX2 RIE will have more crisp sound than a LiNX RIE fit to the same gain settings in fitting software
A LiNX2 RIE may sound louder than LiNX RIE fit to the same gain settings in fitting software

MFI STREAMING MODES
How do you disable Calls and music on a MFi (Made for iPhone) hearing aid?
NB: We used the iPhone but the same procedure applies to compatible iPod and iPads
1
Slide your finder from the bottom of the
screen upward to bring up the screen below.
2
Tap on User Name’s Hearing Aids at the bottom left corner of the screen.
It will show the two modes: iPhone and User Name’s Hearing Aids.
3
Select “iPhone” to stream calls and music to the phone instead of streaming directly to the hearing aid. This
switch only affects the stream destination. You will still be able to adjust the volume and change programs using
the phone and/or the ReSound Smart app, if installed.
Once you have selected the “iPhone” mode, the label will be changed to “Airplay.”

Tips to keep your client’s aids in perfect order!
• Ensure that they are keeping their aids in a dry aid kit at night
• Remind them to remove their hearing aids when sweating excessively or in the rain
• Be aware that in noisy situations the hearing aids are working harder so this will run down the batteries more
quickly
• Also using accessories or apps will drain the batteries much faster if used on a regular basis
• Make sure that they are turning off the devices at night by opening the battery door
• Tell them to remove the battery if they are not wearing the hearing aid for an extended period of time.
